The Google Translate app is useful but also frustrating! I wish that they would try and work on the accuracy of it. I depend on it a lot when I want to read a package that isn't in English! It does at least provide a little bit of an idea as to what you're looking at though. Lovely video!

Those packets with peach, cherry and raspberries you have to heat them up. Those are packets for “kisel” drink. Those are like jelly drink. And it will taste good.

So look some of them in russian net-markets like avito or youla. Or just use a MRE equal jey word "ИРП" To find what you need. But prep to prices in Rubles.
I'm surprised you were okay with canned pork fat, I found it kinda unnecessary and a bit gross when I bought a couple of those rations to eat at our country house. Used it to fry stuff on later tho, was really tasty. Now, if that was proper salo, then oh boy would I enjoy it.

My guess is you didn't have enough water for the drink mix. Those usually take more water then that...so if it was super strong tasting, that's why.
