Thanks for the review. I love jerkbait fishing and will get one soon. Watching you fish and freeze definitely reminds me just how spoiled I am. I'm fishing tomorrow on my home Lake Chickamagua. Lows are around 55 with a high tomorrow around 70 + and sunny. Not rubbing anything in, honestly reminding myself to enjoy and never complain about a little ill weather. Thanks for what you do man.
I feel your pain. I fish until November in Maine to prolong the season, but it's brutal cold. 30s most trips. It's frozen from December to April. Gotta get it while you can.
Buck up little camper as my fishing partner says. Great execution with the rip bait. I’ll look them up. Thank You for showing your catches. You have a great sponsor.
Great video & congrats on joining the Fish The Moment team with Jonny & Randy. Also, I sent you a note on your website about winter fishing gloves. Definitely pertinent to your video today.
Once again another informative video. I’ve never used a hard jerk bait only been bass fishing for about 1 1/2 seriously. I’m now branching out technique wise so I find everything very useful and the way you lay it out has made me a better fisherman so thank you and keep it going. Much appreciated!!!!
Those are some gorgeous smallies! As a man in his mid-40's, I feel funny saying the word "Stunna". Berkley should've just went with "Stunner" and been done with it. Lol. I actually just ordered my first Stunna last night. I'm a sucker for jerkbaits. There's a lot of good ones out there and have heard nothing but good stuff regarding this bait. It actually resembles the 110, but is a more affordable option for those not wanting to spend the $25 on the Megabass. Matt, what were the water temps on that day? I live in the southern part of WI and my confidence level this time of year is quite low. Like you, I'm not a fan of the ice so I wanna get out as much as possible while we still can. Keep up the great videos!
I just left Old Hickory just north of Nashville and never caught Skip Jack Herring left and right and I was thinking they were bass under the shad and didn't even know they would hit big rattle traps and crankbaits. Then when using the crank bait I would reel it through the balls of shad and just snag one, two, to three gizzard shad. Even caught a stripper. If I knew how to post a pic I would or will. In Arkansas now and be on the river here in my old stomping grounds in about an hour then dropping boat and hopefully truck off with it, ( can't find a rental car working on air line ticket) and headed back to WV then I'll be driving truck back and forth between Texas and WV with 5 day stops in Arkansas to fish. Good video and I'm going to try the spinning rod for some jerkbait fishing. Great video and come on down if there is somewhere down here you want to fly down and fish
The head of that bait fish you call "Cisco" looks exactly like a bait fish we use down here for tarpon and snook! Or even king mackerel. It's called A Mullet. We have silver mullet which are smaller. And black mullet which are better for eating and shark bait!!
I was skeptical about a slow sink jerkbait for $15. I'd prefer them to slightly float so I can weight them to my preference. But that action did look awesome...
Got 2 in the mail yesterday as well…. Had to wait months. ML Spinning Rod + 6lb flouro was an interesting choice that you chose to rig this jerkbait, can’t wait to try this set up. Great Smallie too
Matt, I was sorry for the cold weather effects you were experiencing, but I have to tell you that was the best product review I have seen. You sold me on the Berkley Stunna. I am a bit afraid to throw an expensive lure on 6 lb. Fluorocarbon. Maybe I can talk myself into 8 lb. to start. Ha-ha! well done! You need some hot chocolate now.
I would stay away from 6lb fluro if you ate shore fishing. I used 12lb mono lo vis on the Stunna and it help up strong using a spinning rod Med Fast. Caught. Hog!. But I got massive tangled in many branches in an attempt to get a second fish ( i got greedy) and lost my bait. Experiment with a bit heavier line. I do a lot of onshore fishing. Dont have a boat.
@@pequenioedgarito3067 Thanks for the advice. It makes sense to me, but I keep hearing about how the lighter line improves the movement of the bait. Anyway, I agree with you. I am using 10 lb Fluoro currently. So far so good.
I am a jerk bait fanatic. With that said Megabass is the King, Jackall Rerange is the Queen…. But the Stunna is court assassin and at times DEADLY. Especially in cold water. I love them
Watching vids out of order, so I already commented that I really like the action on the Stunna & want to get me some. Even more so after seeing you pull in 4 + lb Smallies with one.

Next year will have to work it into my rotation and spend more time dedicated to fishing them. Those were really nice SM you caught.

The Stunner to me is a Megabass clone, not to say Megabass is better. It is made to be compared and rival the Megabass. Megabass is def better in action bc they are heavier, headdown, and roll or flash at the end of the stop, which is the best attribute. As for quality, Stunna likely is better. The thing that is not good being action is perhaps due to the flat bottom and top. This is a flawed design as they should have gone with the keel or knife bottom. The side-to-side action is not as wide and pronounced as I would like, but it shall pass the test. The flash is okay bc they do the paint job right. Overall, I would still pick the Megabass for the action. Action is everything to me. The Berkley is for quality and cheaper alternative. I must say that under close inspection, the Stunna does not have an even lip. However, I think the offset is so small, it doesn't affect the lure. That's the problem with these new lures. They don't computer or laser measure the design to be even everywhere. It is like they made a model, then make a mold from it, and that mold just isn't straight bc the model was hand carved or something. In this day and age, companies should just use computers to even out everything on the bait's profile (to the smallest degree). It's as important as weighing it to perfection. I don't feel this lure is good enough honestly. They could be better. They should have spent more time on it in research and development. Sometimes you need someone like me as a second opinion...you know...someone from the underground scene who is a real tackle nerd. JSYK, I don't buy Megabass no more these days. Have too many and broke too many.
Love the channel but wanted to get thoughts. Hank cherry said he always throws jerkbaits on 16 lb test because he got tired of losing fish on light line. If he wants it to go deeper he can always do things to make it run deeper. He also added he like to horse them in
I’ve got the factory version of this rod and it is sweet! I frankly never thought to throw jerkbaits on it; I use a Medium baitcaster for that. But I will pick up a few Stunnas and give it a shot!
I love how you RUclips fishermen seem to fish where you can actually catch Bass. I'm limited to a large pond behind the apartment building in. There are large mouth in there but nearly impossible to get them to bite on anything.

See, Marlinbaits is cool, but he lacks understanding. His wooden block challenge, I told him his weighing is not correct. That's why it doesn't swim. He does make cool lures. He just doesn't understand the whole game. He has a lot of fans bc he fools people in that area. Well, I just made a mascara topwater. It sits vertical and pulls like a stickbait, but it walks like a freshwater walker. That's what you called innovation. My thing is if you create or build new lures to just compete or lose to what's already out, then it's pointless. That why I have said Shimano World Minnow should have won 2021 ICast and that's why I just ordered the Abino from Arizona. I plan to mod that lure even further....to try to get it to the highest level. See a lot of potentials in the Abino beyond Nishine's vision.
This one I can teach. The mascara must have heavy tail weight to get the lure to sit upright. It has to also be center weighted, but unlike drilling them at bottom, you must center the weights inside the lure to float....this gives the counter balance to go side-to-side or walk. To get it to walk easier, you weigh down the bottom at head with a half sphere much like a Duo Realis pencil.

Sorry you said 41
