I wonder if there's a measurable difference between students who get accepted to Oxford vs Cambridge. This (my) theory is hard to explain, but I will try to. I think there are two distinct types of people "inhalers" vs "exhalers" what I mean by this is when you either completely inhale or exhale you get a a weird sensation throughout your body, one feels kind of like if you were sucking an invisible energy and the other one feels almost as if you were pushing it out, which might make you look almost sullen at times. My theory is people unconsciously stay at one of these modes throughout their life and it is shaping their behaviour and personality. Based upon whether you're an "inhaler" or "exhaler" you will have different approach to learning and even your sense of style will be different. What strikes me the most is how strongly "inhale" person defined style is the Oxford building versus Cambridge that clearly looks like it was built for "exhale" kind of people. I know it sounds ridiculous, but try to change your default style of being and you might see what I mean by it. As an "inhaler" you might suddenly see Oxford building as beautiful and as an "exhaler" Cambridge building will all of a sudden look amazing.
Difficult call. Oxford has more to see but more commercialised., however the smaller size of Cambridge has its advantages. . Maybe I would tip the balance to Cambridge but either one is worth a visit.
I didn't understand the suggestion you can't walk across the Bridge of Sighs. I have walked across it in Cambridge many times. Most recently in March this year. Just walked through the College entrance gate, through the courts, crossed the bridge, then walked through the college gardens backing on to the River Cam, then eventually up West Road towards the Sidgwick Sites (Arts & Humanities).
Mmm, I am no doubt biased, being a retired Oxford academic, but having spent some considerable time in both cities, I would suggest that Oxford offers visitors just that something more, as an overall experience, but in the end, it is entirely subjective on individual tastes and expectations :) Oh yes, the Harry Potter 'Z'!!!!!! on the ground outside the Sheldonian Theatre, not the Caledonian, surly ???? Well done !!!
@@humanbeing1776 Well, of course, I am apt to agree !!! However, there is one area in which Cambridge indisputably leads, and that is their exceptionally beautiful and gifted choirs of Kings College and Clare College, which I don`t believe Oxford can match in any meaningful sense, but that is only my opinion of course :)
Thanks for this comparison, very informative. One question: Doesn’t the Oxford Tube go direct between Heathrow & Oxford? That’s what google maps says (I’m visiting next month)
My daughter graduated from New College Oxford a few years ago, she doesn't speak a word of Latin and neither did most of her buddies except perhaps a few who'd come from private schools, so I think the answer is "No" 🙂
Oxford and Cambridge
Both are very good Universities
The Professors are the top best
Educators in Europe.

Aye it does sound ridiculous. Bro is off his nut
schizo alert
I work in Oxford but slightly prefer Cambridge as it's smaller, quirkier and more charming. Central Oxford is breathtaking, though.

True, but Cambridge.
Why either or... I will visit both😁

Relocated from Cambridge to north, I would say Oxford as it is in my bucket list

Thank you for this information
i would take oxford anytime.. i visited cambridge and while it is charming, i had a bad experience with racism there.
Can you explain what happened?
what a pleasure.
Both are grand. I recommend both. If I have to choose one, I prefer “The Hole” over “The Other.”
Of course, I'm going to Oxford.

Is Latin still a requirement for entry into either of the two university ?
No
Definitely not

If you can't work out the answer to that, canman, I'd say it's 'academic' for you to find out the answer.
Bruh 💀
i also want to attend both.
قريبة ❤ من اللغة الإيطالية
Yale Univercity very wonderfull...
Cambridge location is a little cut off… 😔
cambridge is way far better... ❤❤
In my opinion, I prefer Oxford university than Cambridge university but you should visit both of them.
As a city, I preferred Oxford,

Intrance !
Oxford is Better than Cambridge
We've got Oxford Tube Coach to London or London Heathrow by National Express
An Airline Coach to the Airport
Well, Cambridge has coaches and trains to London (and the airports) as well

Cambridge better
👍🏼💚😀.
The Sheldonian Theatre and not the Caledonian!!
Yes, I was thinking it may have been a blend of Sheldonian and Clarendon on accident?
