I'm in the woods all the time, mushroom hunting, fly fishing, foraging, etc. I don't leave the house without a pocket knife, a lighter and cordage. Thank you Brian.
I just picked up a 1/4 lb roll of #36 and #12. This is great stuff. I use it for camping/bushcraft, but it is simply great to have around the house. I agree that this has the right amount of tar. Never seen a roll of the Chatanooga brand but I had heard it's heavily coated and messy if it's warm out. Gotta' keep it in a ziploc baggie or something. I went with SGT Knott's instead, for that reason. Thanks for sharing your review.
I just ordered some Catahula, haven;t used it yet, if it's sticky and messy when warm I think I may need to go with Sgt. Knots. for bushcraft. Primarily been using Paracord for everything, however for stitching got recently directed to bankline.
SGT softer and easier to work with than Catahoula. Catahoula behaves as a wire. But! Catahoula is stronger. I simply tied a piece of SGT#21 with a piece of Catahoula#18 and pulled. Sgt broke.
Thanks for the video because I was wondering about that brand and everyone acts like the other brand is the only way to go like it's either that or junk but now I know that they are lying so now I'm definitely going with your brand better price less tar so the catfish and turtles don't small it and no staining my gear so I'ma get the 12 like u got and probably 36 braided too so it will cover just about everything
You can but it is a pain... Would definitely only do it if you absolutely needed to but if you plan on using smaller cordage,it would be much easier to carry something smaller in your pack

If you need the extra strength for a hammock, just double or triple the line. Great video.
I recently could have my hands on some tarred bankline,I live where they don't sell it.
I can finally use it in some bushcraft projects

Ty can you un braid the braided?

That’s why they make ziplock bags
Catahoula is too much like copper wire in my experience. It's too stiff to do things like net making and other knot tying
