I know getting flooded/mana screwed is frustrating as a player, but as a viewer those are some of my favorite moments. Watching you navigate the times when the shuffler screws you and often still eking out a victory really helps me learn to play better
The game against mono-red: Turn 1: Draw land Turn 2: Draw land Turn 3: Draw land; Sac Blood token -> Draw land Turn 4: Draw Annihilating Glare Turn 5: Draw land Turn 6: Draw land Turn 7: Draw land; Channel Takenuma -> Mill 3 non-land (get Sheoldred back) Turn 8: Draw Experimental Synthesizer; Play Synthesizer -> Get land You effectively drew 11 cards since the start of this game (counting Sheoldred off a Takenuma mill and a Synthesizer exiled card you played out), and 8 of them were land! To be fair, 3 of those lands were effectively bonus Anvils, as well. If those Mycosynth Gardens had been any other lands, you'd have been really screwed.
Dude. Gleeful demolition goes HARDDDD in this deck if you want to try running it. I went 7-0 and then 6-1 in event running 4 of those and no bankbuster. Also running Mishra instead of Sheoldred. When you attack with a shitload of creatures at once and gain 10-15 life IMMEDIATELY, and they take that much damage, it's just BROKEN.
Dragonspark Reactor: "I'm a budget friendly wincon for your anvil deck! A little expensive, but hey what can you do?" Exuberant Fuseling: "Omae wa mou shindeiru"
I mean playing 24 lands with a deck that tops off at 4 mana with only 4 cards while fable also generates mana and blood/synthesizer lets u dig, is kinda asking for flood
Hi Can you do another anvil deck now that two of those cards are banned in standard? Also, I've found the deck to be a bit weak in draw power and against flying?
I think all the Praetors were reprinted with all will be one- they might be counted as part of this set Edit- just checked and the green praetor is not standard legal despite being included in all will be one boosters, so probably not
I was wondering when you'd get around to covering anvil. It is actually really good right now. My win rate with my version is surprising good over a lot of games. I don't think this version of it is the best. For example Research Desk is just straight up better than synthesizer, Vraan also punches way harder than you would think, and a few other things, but I get this isn't your preferred archetype. I'm surprised how little of the meta anvil is right now. It is positioned very well in this current standard environment.
@@stefano910 I would love to but RUclips won't let me. I have now tried 6 times to link you to my deck list on Aetherhub and it deletes my message every time no matter what I try. @@matthewnewman3376 I do play it in BO3 and it is better than you might think. Yes, Brotherhood's end exists so the ultra grindy builds don't work. but an ultra aggressive build that can turn into more Rakdos aggro with a sac backup post board against control and Grixis mid-range works very well. I get to sideboard too :-)
Agreed, this sounds like the refinements I made on my mardu anvil deck, vraan and the desk really make a difference at punching through and securing some combo/pressure.
I played someone today with this deck, but added Atraxa and less Bankbuster. How do I know this? Milled them with your esper control Jace deck. 😂 Solid deck though. Had me down to one life with Anvil tapped before I milled them out.
you and lvd are only players i watch. no UNBEATABLE DECK like all the others. and you are by far the best player, even though i dislike control. Crockey is a good player (though i believe you are better) but i dislike when people speak in absolutes (ex.:this card is only good card and all others suck) and he also has a tremor from smoking. Conclusion: good job on the high quality streams and transparency
I've tried building something similar but haven't been able to make it work. I'm curious, would Sokenzan Smelter be a workable card for a more aggro version of the deck?
i personally crafted a version with that card but it’s not as good as it seems. for me, i usually use all of my mana before i consider that card. plus it’s ability is inferior to other cards. the best you could do is to swap it for the exuberant but it raises the average mana value. i don’t like it but it is good for midrange.
@paoul789 synthesizer in many cases will cause you to lose the exiled card cause you need to have mana open to play it. I think desk is better anyway. Better card advantage.
@paoul789 honestly I'd replace the synthesizer with Vat of Rebirth. In Anvil decks it gets counters fast and works nice with Harvester. Or even instead voltage surge as recurrent Harvester would be your primary remival. I like the idea of the deck and am tinkering with different setups to make it fit my playstyle.
@paoul789 yeah i get it. And probably for bo1 it's better. I just had enough experience with the synthesizer that the exiled card was either a land that i couldn't play or i didn't have mana open. That card worked for me way less than it didn't. I just personally can't justify it over the desk.
@@xbrr91 look I'm telling you that 24 is the correct number of lands to play in a deck that wants to consistently cast a 4 drop on t4. these numbers have been ran. You can read articles on channelfireball by Frank Karsten on the subject if you want. Also if you're cracking a blood token on t3 trying to hit lands that takes away utility from the bloodtide Harvester you just played the previous turn, and now you can't cast your fable, putting you a turn behind the rest of the game. I'd rather just consistently draw the fourth land most of the time then have to rely on cracking a blood token or making sure I have Fable on three

The prevalence of Brotherhood's End really puts a damper on Anvil in BO3. Can see how it'd be pretty fantastic in BO1 though.
