I know this is probably not a very popular opinion right here but I have to say I just don't understand or like dub plate juggling, or the dub plate thing at all for that matter. It just seems like one big ego feast [say my sounds name, say my sounds name] vs playing 'regular' chunes. I can understand one or two dubplates but this set got REALLY old, VERY quickly for me. I'd go as far as saying, I appreciated Zion Rose's set of music, even though she wasn't even playing records. Dub plates seem to focus on big up my sound big up my sound vs hearing the heart and soul of straight up music.
Point taken. Either you like clashing or you don't. Soundclash is what most of these tracks are cut for. I am not a basketball fan, but if I can use hoops as an a analogy, would you rather watch a championship game , or the slam dunk contest ? I have attended some great clashes , and some real flops.
@@ganjafarmer1572 Ganja Farmer , excellent points --- and BB analogy !! Many utube Reggae 'comments' don't involve much dialogue so it was refreshing to read your thoughtful response. You're right, the 'dubplate' genre has it's fans but it's just not for me. And maybe it's different live but those dubplates don't sound very sonicaly-strong & a bit scratchy, especially compared to what you hear other 'record' DJs spinnin'... respect, Ganja Farmer.
Wrong!!!!
@@allblackpromo2395 Wrong what ? At least have the intelligence to say more than one silly word.
Can see clearly Sound Clash thing is just not your thing.... so if you dont have anything pisitive to say about sound system culture keep yuh mouth close, because Arthentic Dubplates are what separate the big sounds from the Little ones.
Whom the hell is gonna pay their money to listen any big sound playing one bag of 45 radio tunes all night..... certainly not me.
Dubplates for my money straight !
