My favorite mode of transportation, and yes Steve is right, the sounds and movement of the train works as one of the best lullabies in the world, and that too for a grown-up.
Steve! Bulgaria is my first Country which i visited. Please take in consideration Krushuna waterfalls, Devetashka caves, Arbanasi Village, Lovech Bridge, Balcik, Varna, Dalboka mussels farm, Snail Farm, Cape Caliakra, and letțs not forget Veliko Tarnavo and Stara Zagora and Bansko (especially in winter for the winter sports).
The Palmeiras shirt was a gift from my friend. It's a great souvenirs/memory/shirt... I really love it. The best part is, he didn't give it to me new, he wore it and cheered his team on many times before... it's the real deal from a fan lol
There is absolutely nothing at Halkali but if you walk up a steep hill about 1km west of the station you'll find a wonderful kebab place called Yahsi Doner owned by a nice gentleman named Salih and his lovely wife Nurten They took really good care of us and provisioned us for our trip to Sofia. Can't wait to go back!
if you have time go to rila monastery and seven lake reservation..you must visit the tombes of thracian kings..bulgaria is the birthplace of Spartakus...have fun in bulgaria!!!
The way you left the train and went to the passport office made me anxious 😰 Luckily when I saw this video I knew already that you are safe in Bulgaria because of your live video from Sunday 🙂. Cool video, thanks! Have a nice trip in and around Bulgaria!
Fun fact : Ivana is a bulgarian name(Ivan for male), in Bulgaria we celebrate not only B-day, we also celebrate name days, popular bulgarian name day is Ivan/Ivana day Jan. 7 celebrating the saint John the Baptist.
If you guys had a feedback channel for the first train ride you can say that they could include at least one or two more stuff in the fridge. As a turkih guy myself i thought they ripped you a little bith with the fridge contents. I mean at least they could have added 2 more cakes come on it was sa 1800 lira ticket.. Those crackerss juice and one chocolate probably not even has total of 50 if you go to a supermarket. But i hope it worth for the authentic trip at least.
Steve & Ivana! There weren't that many checks before the Syrian war erupted. European countries have place strict rules as a result of increased illegal , criminal activities or access. Sadly, conflict in Syria is still going on, and as a result innocent people end up without home and country, and criminals are taking advantage of the situation. Enjoy beautıful Bulgarıa and good food ❤❤🧿🧿
man i look at their train station and compare it to where i been chicago and nyc lol so different. We got bunch of animals here mean muggin in the trains meanwhile everyone minding own bidness over there.
One question - you said in the video that you bought the tickets from the international counter, how far ahead of time did you buy those tickets? Thanks.
Go to Czech Republic. One of the most beautiful countries in Europe. There is a lot to see and it is a cheap country. See Kutna Hora, Sedlec, Olomouc, Brno, Prague, Kromeritz, Karlovy Vary, Cesky Krumlov...
What is your origin, your wife being obviously Asian but you also don't look pure N.American. (not that there is exactly such term overall haha) I would even say you have some Southern European roots in you, you can pass as a Bulgarian even easily. Other than that I'd say maybe Irish/Scottish? It's also interesting that Ivana is actually name that has Bulgarian origin. Ivana is the local way of the latin "Johanna". Bulgarians also celebrate name days, so she could celebrate her name day on "Ivanovden" which is on 7th of January. Also I think your card didn't work since It probably was American Express. Hence it gave you only the "advanced settings" menu screen.
Good info, thanks for this. And good guesses! I'm mostly Scottish before Canadian, but I think there's a bit of Norwegian mixed in there, because my ancestors were a bit wild and got kicked out of Scotland for a bit. (Not just my ancestors - rather the whole clan they were in) And: the 7th of Jan is one day before my birthday, so we can celebrate Ivana name day and the next day my birthday 🤩
Plzzzz answer my question! Can a french take this train with only ID card? Without presenting his passport? What they ask in borders? And if they check and scan the bagages?
That passengers are forced out of the sleeper in the middle of the night is a weird procedure, almost everywhere in the world the police enters the train.
I took the train in 1993 and was a very slow one. I think due to illegal migrants trying to sneak into Bulgaria they do extra passport checks. When I flew to Sofia in 2018 the immigration in BG checked my passport several times. I have a Canadian passport.
My favorite mode of transportation, and yes Steve is right, the sounds and movement of the train works as one of the best lullabies in the world, and that too for a grown-up.
Hello bro,

They are many, here in Bulgaria 😊

Interesting comment, thanks for this info! And yes, so far the food is great. I think I am gaining weight (Steve)
Hey, very nice video. To buy the tickets only at train station? On the same day or is it possible to buy in advance? Thanks.
man i look at their train station and compare it to where i been chicago and nyc lol so different. We got bunch of animals here mean muggin in the trains meanwhile everyone minding own bidness over there.
What’s the name of that night train provide. It’s one of the best set ups I have seen. I would like to check out some of their other routes.
3:27 ha haaa🤣😅😄😄 you both are so beautiful
One question - you said in the video that you bought the tickets from the international counter, how far ahead of time did you buy those tickets? Thanks.
We bought the tickets 2 days before. The train itself didn't feel full... maybe 60 or 70% capacity. Enjoy your trip :)
@@JetLagWarriors Thanks!
Sorry guys, in balkans we don't have ps4 in trains😅
Mashallah❤❤❤first
Hi Komşi! 🧿🧿🖐
#JetFam Will you be making any trips outside Sofia to explore other places in Bulgaria during your time there?
We had some exciting news in the past few days... our plans changed a bit! But we can update you on Sunday.
you guys have to give India another chance and re visit India but make sure to do it during the winter months for example october to march

#JetFam What basic Bulgarian words or phrases have you learned so far in your first few days in the country?
Oh this is a good question! Although we haven't learned much, we will tell it on Sunday :)
Would you make this trip if you had a baby or young children? Enjoy

Did you buy the tickets with passport or like me without him😂😂
🍻
There is a normal toilet on the other side
The Best thing of visiting Bulgaria îs that you are almost în Romania 😂❤
Can!😂
4 times, oh man no sleep for me..
1 week in Sofia is too much. Move around the country. See the mountains, the seaside. Then move to Greece...
10:49 2 bottles of water are 50 TL? 😂This is literally fraud...
So what's the original price
@@maazulhaq4180 9-10 lira for each. Maximum 20 TL for two bottles.
Its usual price for bus stops, train stops or gas markets.
Great for $75...
