    What I got from this video: "be selfish with taking care of yourself." I don't know why... but that hit me hard and actually made me cry. I did NOT expect that from watching a video on a portable washing machine. I've been going to the laundrymat for so long... and I feel so unsafe going there. I leave my clothes, and I hate leaving them while I wait - I always think they are going to get stolen, but if I stay to watch them, I always get some weirdy who won't leave me alone. Either way, I feel like I'm losing. I get so stressed going. And I've been looking into these little portable washers... and your video... just hit me so hard. And I even did the math on how much I spend on laundry in a year, and it's literally almost as much as the washer I want - which is 328. I could have a portable washer for two years, it breaks down and stops working, and I would still come out ahead financially. Thank you for your video.

    I bought the Black and Decker portable washer last week. Carrying heavy clothing to the laundry room was extremely painful and expensive. This has totally been a life saver. I hang the clothes, and they are dry after about 4 hours. Had no idea that these were available.

    If water is coming out and around your adapter when the water stops filling the machine, it means your water pressure is too high. You can usually minimize it by lowering the handle of your faucet. I have a Haier brand washer and I used to hook mine directly up to the shower spout using the adapter, and found reducing the amount of water flowing helped (I had an old style two-handle down spout tub set up, newer showers don't work well with auto fill washers). However when I moved and had to start using my sink, I realized having an additional rubber washer in the sink set up and/or having flood safe steel hoses helped the water control. I highly recommend these washers for apartments, I'm so glad I purchased one years ago!

    • @WILLTONY7
      @WILLTONY7 3 года назад

      Can you drop a link to the steel hose and the rubber washers?

    • @tmcdgreen
      @tmcdgreen 3 года назад

      @@WILLTONY7 You can pick up the rubber washers at any home improvement store - no brand is better, just be sure to purchase an assorted box for the different thicknesses to test on your faucet. The flood safe hoses are the same - any home improvement store will usually only have one brand in stock and that will work (I just used Home Depot's brand). If you purchase them on Amazon, I would recommend 'Premium Stainless Steel Washing Machine Hoses with 90 Degree Elbow' in the length you need by the brand Kelaro. They need to be absolutely lead free, which is key - don't use a water hose for this if it is not meant to be used with drinking water!

    i have an older zeny and am happy with it - you must use a lint trap if it has and a mesh sleeve over the drain hose (cheap anywhere or tie on a stocking) you'll be amazed of the amount of lint and hair collected - this is important especially if you use in bathtub or shower as will get clogged eventually - throw the lint in the trash NOT THE TOILET

      Mine holds a 9pd load, (that's a tiny load) cost 110$ I also bought a manual mop wringer since hand wringing is out of the question. The mop wringer is a traditional unit, with wringer and bucket,for 100$ Amazon. The wash takes 30 min. I do one wash/3 rinse cycles.
      I don't have to stand over it, it just works. Set the phone timer for 9 min each cycle.
      Bammm. Done. M

    Hi Mari and everyone, regarding the water overflow on the water supply valve from your sink's faucet. It is very important you install a "Water Hammer Arrester" - Why? well, every time the machine stops the water flow (through cycle changes), it does so abruptly thus placing a lot of back water pressure on your supply hoses, seals, and home sink/bathroom pipes - don’t assume the only place leaking is at the connection point, if one place is leaking chances are other areas of your home’s piping are also suffering. A Water Hammer will resolve this expensive and often catastrophic flood problem. You can buy them for $15 - $35 at any hardware store, some come as a new hose (in-line), while others are stand alone types (connect to the back of washer then connect hose). I prefer the in-line type, they save space. Here’s a shortened link to some of them: amzn.to/3jV6q24
    A lot of people buying these machines and plugging them right away without realizing the flood damage or expense these can cause if the proper peripherals are not installed. Good luck and stay safe everyone!!

    I'm so glad to see NY'ers finally getting hip to the small washers. The plug is a regular outlet plug and with the faucet adapter it hooks up to the kitchen or bathroom sink. That's it! I bought a Midea 2.5 cu.ft off Craigslist for my son's apt, works great! Magic chef, Panda and Haier also make these and the dryers which work great too.

    Like your attitude to looking after yourself. 100% facts. My next buy might be this down the road. Had the twin tubs, they don't last long 1-2 years and more manual work involved, although their great. Spin dryer burns out eventually. I now have a small collaspable portable washer, only a few days old. No spin but happy with it. I was in two minds about this, but I ever have to replace my collaspable this will be my next purchase. I would love to see a review now, if you had any problems and if everything still works. 🇬🇧

    I have lint come out of the hose on my Panda washer. I bought what I call hose condoms from Amazon and the first time I used the washer I was glad I had one on the hose. I put my hose right down my kitchen sink so the lint trap is a good feature. I have the dryer. It doesn’t dry as well as I had hoped but I picked up a tip to put a dry towel in with your load to soak up some moisture. I haven’t tried that yet. I’ve been using wool dryer balls scented with essential oils. In my washer, I use detergent sheets.

Someone had a whole load of rugs going 😐 someone else has a cat or dog and their white hair stays in the machines. I’ve had it. Mind you it’s $2.50 to wash and $2 to dry and my clothes came out smelling worse than when I put them in last time. Gross!! I just subscribed to your channel that's a pretty good idea on The watcher I have a big washer and dryer I own my own home in Arkansas and I live by myself I'm kind of like you and I'd like to stay on my own but I was going to tell you you know how your joints where you hook up your faucet leaks there's a white tape it's called plumber's tape you put it around the joints you know your threads on the hookup to the sink and it won't leak you just got to make sure you hand tighten them kind of like what you do every time you turn on the the water and you can work a little bit easier knowing that it won't leak at all remember it's called plumber's tape and you just go around maybe once or twice it's a thin tape it's not like glue tape it doesn't have no glue to it it's called plumbers tape and if you go like home Depot or Ace or any store that sells the tape they can show you how to use it let me know if that worked for you 🇺🇸🇵🇷✌🏼🌹

    • @MyHomieMari
      @MyHomieMari  4 года назад +4

      Hey! I just turn the faucet off when it stops intaking water. The machine will make a zip sound when it needs you to add more water. You can hear it towards the end of the video before the beeps. Once the machine makes that sound I just turn the faucet back on, let the water fill up, then turn it back off when the machine starts up again
