The most fluid, effortless looking golf swing probably in the entire history of golf, and there probably won't be anyone else in the future that will come close to this man. Mesmerizing to watch.
In 1990/91 I was working at the driving range at a Country Club in North Atlanta were he stopped by for a round. I watched him hit 10 or so fresh golf balls out of a little bag he had in a cart. Absolutely perfect 9 irons that all landed within 5 feet of the flag. To this day I’ve never seen anything like it before. It was as if he was barely swinging the club picking perfect little divots.
Top 3 golf swing the game has ever witnessed. His lower back issues didn’t impede his ability to succeed; if anything it revolutionized it. Although more pronounced in slow motion, the subtle but detectable pause at the top sets up for the most textbook, seamless transition into the downswing, allowing gravity and inertia to swing the club effortlessly but with a ton of sneaky, free flowing speed. I can’t think of another player who has Freddy’s tempo. Watching his swing should answer every golfers’ questions regarding improving their own game; don’t force it, let it happen. His lower back wasn’t a curse, it was a blessing in disguise and true testament to his adaptiveness and abilities. It didn’t hinder him, it made him mindfully consistent. One of the classiest guys ever to tee it up and a privilege to witness his illustrious career. One of the GOAT swings can be summed up in 3 words: POETRY IN MOTION. Thanks for all the memories and highlights!!
I know that when you slow his swing down, it's actually kind of disjointed looking and certainly not "textbook." But at normal speed, in real time...Freddy's swing is almost like ballet. It's so beautiful, free flowing, and almost relaxing to watch. It's the kind of swing that makes you think "THIS is what golf is about. Just playing a leisurely, relaxed game out in nature and taking the stress away."
Full shoulder turn and flying right elbow (load) at the top, right wrist twirling and pivot twisting (fire) through impact and full shoulder turn and flying left elbow at finish.
Sam used to be my favourite too - if you look at Freddie, he does have a minor lateral bump and right knee move as his press, just not his hands. I think he pips Sam personally, just for the pure consistancy of his technique - I love Faldo in his day too 'the robot - but Freddie's is so repetitive he is the ultimate robot. 'Rinse, repeat'... that's why he's still out there shooting crazy low scores. All total legends.
coaches would say he's got a chicken wing on the upswing, but this convinces me each one has a specific swing, as long as the impact on the ball is correct.
Mike Austin (world record longest drive in tournament) - would say that a 'chicken wing' is essental to hitting it long. A more upright swing tends to be more accurate in the main... the release takes far less timing. Physics I guess.
Make sure your weakening your left hand grip and strengthening your right hand and that your hands are rotating through impact....check out some of Mike Austin's videos
Yeah, it's interesting. He said he likes the feel of the club in his hand, that he doesn't get with having a glove on. Find the video here on youtube, it's a bunch of his swings, all in slow motion. check out how his right hand is almost not holding the club just after and probably right at impact. At least with the driver he does that.
The greatest swing of all time. With the most perfect rhythm!
Fred along with Sam Snead, the best golf swings
And timing! 👌
I tend to agree-it's just an incredible thing to see.

There's only a few golfers I can think of who had/have Fred's fluidity. Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan, Adam Scott and Ernie Els come to mind
@@GreenDistantStar I think only Louis is close to Freddie in fluidity. IMHO.
Jake Knapp
Most beautiful swing in golf. So effortless.
Best collection on the web. Thanks a lot
Could have sat here and watched 610 of his swings. Poetry in motion.
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. That pause at the top is key.
Great player Blessings from Taiwanese fans
Boom Boom and Payne Stewart both awesome swings to watch.
Freddie makes golf swing a performance art. My hero along with Bobby Jones! Happy birthday, freddie!
Love this smooth effortless swing!!!
Well, I dont need to watch another golf swing video ever lol Happy bday Freddie!
My favorite swing in golf
Can't believe he's 61. Still swings it like a 20yr old.
I turn 63 tomorrow.....and planned on golfing. Then I see THIS. Clubs for sale, sweet spot never hit.
LOL very well said
and I probably saw most of them live over the years lol ...Happy Birthday Freddie
Best golf swing ever.
All without a glove too, I may add! Simply amazing to watch!
the first one was gorgeous

Happy Birthday, Freddie!
One of the smoothest, most fluid swing in the game. A treat to watch.
Nice collection, thanks
Looks like a freaking practice swing

Gotta be the best sound in golf.
Happy birthday Freddie!
Happy birthday fred.👍

It doesn't even look like he is hitting it, beautiful action
Love his swing but Sam Snead still my ALL time fav, that forward press of Snead gets it all started.

Sam's rythm/waltz time tip, helped me knock 10 shots off my game, literally when I was learning in my 20's... 92 to 82 overnight. Good taste mate.
Best swing of all time.
Aged like fine wine...
Are the real Ricky Fowler?
@@bald_shady no lol
Effortless power.
happy bday fred
I wish I could feel what that swing feels like just once.
in my minds eye, that's what my own swing looks like ~)
Can’t wait until he gets to 100
this clip belongs in art museum.
The only thing missing is that beautiful Gaelic music…
Superb.
Gah! It’s annoying how simple he makes it look.

The 90s were “You the man” days. I don’t hear anyone say that anymore. Thankfully.

Freddie's swing is comparable to the great Sam Snead in terms of beauty
agreed-I think they were the 2 best swingers of the club we have ever seen.
1:36 I felt that one.
Boom Boom knows how to draw his ball even though he is a left-to-right hitter.
Does anyone know where the last tee box is located? What course?
Amazing, he can bomb it without glove!
Note Fred starts and ends his downswing with the flexing of his trail knee. Believe me it works as everything else must follow👍😀
Watched it twice
I love his swing so much but my god do I slice badly when I try to emulate it!
Make sure your weakening your left hand grip and strengthening your right hand and that your hands are rotating through impact....check out some of Mike Austin's videos
@@MrCalidan69Freddy has a very strong left hand grip though
Belt buckle pointed to the target after impact every single time
well i cant watch the other 60 because I keep replaying the first one . . .
Only two ungloved players have won the Masters in the last 68 years; Fred Couples and Ben Hogan.
멋져부러..
He’s 62 now
03:11 did he just play a DRAW?!
こんなに簡単そうにゴルフする選手は後にも先にも見たこと無いです、しいていえばリートレビノ位ですかね?
Wood driver in the 90's?
Mr.Swing
Dang, he was top 30 in driving distance at the age of 49.
Just about top 20! 21st at 49 is nuts
I never noticed that he doesn't wear a glove.

@@doug2993 Cool. I wish I could play like that but without a glove my left hand gets torn up.
Ya Fred puts crazy glue on his left hand wear it gets tore up I believe. Read it in a magazine or something years ago.
You would think Jim Furyk would have all the back problems and not Freddie couples.
He swings almost as good as you !
His back problems make sense with that swing.
Fred the lazy action Couples
Swing is ridiculous..
How come people that are in their 60s now look 40.
No glove!
Fred couples is now Rory’s Flesh light.
