0:25 haven't heard this song in fucking forever and it makes me sad because it reminds me when i was little and listened to a fuck ton of monstercat stuff. the melody gives me sad nostalgia
same with cheat codes because it makes me think of my dad and having him still in my life then
also i've always thought tristam's stuff would be fitting for movie credits for some reason

30: Very good for the time
29: One of Tristam's best songs
28: This collab went completely over my head, I didn't realize this was a thing
27: The DnB Mix is better, but the original is still very good
26: This proves that instrumentals can be better than vocals
25: Underappreciated TM song, I love this
    24: Epic banger
23: VIP is better, but like Surge, this is still really good
22: I forgot about this song, but it's very solid
21: This was very futuristic for the time
20: I used to like this a lot, now it's grown off me a bit
19: I like Apollo more, but all of Astronaut's songs were amazing
18: I can only think of Sonic Mania when I hear this song
17: This song is way better than okay
16: I haven't heard this a lot, it reminds me of Itvara
15: Nostalgia overload, it reminds me of Final Boss, which is my favorite Nitro Fun song
    14: There's the VIP let's go
13: Damn three Nitro Fun songs in a row, makes sense though
12: Why have I not heard this before?
    11: Legendary song
10: Nitro Fun is dominating this list
9: This is my favorite Nitro Fun song, also one of the first Monstercat songs I heard
8: This is the only song I disagree with so far, I don't like this that much
7: The better version of Inside
6: This song is *crazy* (the joke was too easy to make)
5: Until Grit came out, this was my favorite electro song on the label
4: There's Itvara, I love this song so much
3: I think it's a little overhyped, but it's still an amazing song (it's crazy that a 2022 song can beat so many classics as well)
2: The only other song I disagree with, this would probably not be top 30 for me
1: Interesting, I do like this but it wouldn't be #1

    Oh boy:
Eden - I do have the song sitting in fav but the 2nd drop keeps me from deleting it (sorry, I do ofc like 1st drop but the 2nd one is like the Finale Fantastic of a performance)
Dead Man Walking - You see me spam this in the gym, shower and homework :)) (catchiness, tunes, beat, the vocals is top tier after listening many times, not to mentioned the lyrics are actually kinda related to my relationship life at the moment :)))
The Fire - After gave it a try it became my summer song of this year, had a lot of fun memories (like family, brother gatherings and stuff, just fun summer in general), the build-up, vocals is also awesome ngl, just perfectly executed, but the drop set my ears on fire (ironic, it was catchy, epic yet nostalgic as hell)
    So far, Eden = 8.5/10
DMW/TF = 10+ (loved it, never letting it go tier like ever :))

Electro is usually a pretty consistent genre, hard to go wrong with it so I imagine I'll probably agree with most of these:
    30. Yep, classic, deserved to be on here. Shrunk on me a little but still iconic
    29. Stuff like this is why Tristam is seen as such a legend. This is the kind of song that you know is a classic the moment you hear it, even if you know nothing about it. Something about the melody just invokes that feeling.
    28. I usually don't like this kind of clubby festival music much, but this slaps. That melody is amazing. The song isn't even that old, but it already feels like a classic due to the names behind it and the general sound of it.
    27. I agree 100% with the reasoning here, which is why I prefer the DnB mix of this song. The drops are alright, but the main melody is so good and the DnB version includes the melody in the drops, so I like that one more. The original is alright too, though.
    26. This is probably my favorite PBN song. It has their best melody and it's another case of a song feeling like it came out of the classic era of EDM, like Harpoon.
    25. I really don't like this one, sorry. I'm not the biggest Tokyo Machine fan in general, and the drops here are kind of annoying tbh
    24. I want to like this more, but I hate the lead in the drop, it's way too aggressive. A shame, too, because the rest of the song is pretty good.
    23. Absolutely a classic, love this one. I personally like it more than New Game, but I think I'm in the minority. I just love the melodies here. I still think Final Boss is his magnum opus, though.
    22. Like I said before, I don't like TM much, but this track is pretty good. One of his better ones for sure.
    21. This is a banger and it's still one of my least favorites from the album. That's how much I love NA/DA. Great song, though, even though it's a little overrated.
    20. I will always love Au5, and even though this is one of my least favorites from him, it's still great. It doesn't have the insane sound design I love from him, but the melody is good enough to carry it anyway, plus Danyka is amazing here.
    19. This is my favorite from Astronaut, the melodies, vocals, and sound design are all top-tier. One of the best songs from my favorite compilation on the label.
    18. I've never liked this one, mainly because I can't stand Hyper Potions and their influence is very noticeable here, but Nitro Fun's presence is always welcome.
    17. Same as 25
    16. I was hoping this would be on here, as it's definitely one of my favorites. Gaia is one of my favorite Monstercat albums easily, and this track is no exception. As good as it is, though, I think I like Itvara even more (I won't be surprised if it's also on this list)
    15. I wasn't too impressed with this one, it felt like he was trying too hard to recapture the magic of his old stuff while not really succeeding, but I can see why it would resonate with some people.
    14. I don't like this, mainly because I love the original and this feels like a big downgrade since the melody in the drops was my favorite part and this removes them.
    13. Great track. This is what I think Hidden Level was trying to be, except he actually succeeded here. Not surprised at the amount of NF on this list, he's basically THE electro artist on Monstercat.
    12. So glad to see this on here, it's easily one of my favorites. Space Cadet is my favorite Monstercat album with basically no competition, and this is one of my favorites from that album. The vocal chops are phenomenal, the sound design is remarkable, the melodies are amazing, everything about this song is basically perfect and it's still only my #3 on the album.
    11. Saw this coming from a mile away. This song will always be iconic, and I think I'll always love it too, no matter how badly the dubstep drop has aged.
    10. I do prefer Cheat Codes and especially Final Boss, but there's no denying that this is a classic song. The sound design might be his most impressive, period.
    9. Yep, I was hoping this would be on here. In my opinion, sometimes the heaviness of a song isn't about the loudness of the sounds or the amount of loud sounds, but the way those sounds are used. And in that way, this song is up there with Junction Seven as one of the heaviest songs on Monstercat.
    8. The vocals in this song are phenomenal and they carry most of it. If the melody was as good as the one in Far Away, this could easily be one of my all-time favorites, because the vocals might be his best ever (aside from Before We Fade because I'll always have a soft spot for that song).
    7. Not really sure why this was on Instinct and Time Goes By was on Uncaged, since the vibes are so similar, but this song is amazing either way. Au5 and Danyka doing what they do best.
    6. Same as 25
    5. Even as someone who doesn't like bass house much, this is easily one of the biggest bangers the label has ever seen. It's so nuts in the best way, and impossible not to headbang to.
    4. I have basically the same thoughts on this as Omni, it's a phenomenal complextro song from Fractal that I have always loved and always will love.
    3. I wasn't too impressed by this, I thought it was weak for Ellis standards, but I definitely see the appeal.
    2. I'm like 95% sure this has surpassed Killing Giants and become my new favorite song on the label. Enough said.
    1. I'm an idiot and I somehow completely forgot about this song. How did that happen? Anyways, absolutely deserved. The drops are anthemic, the midsection is gloriously funky, everything about this is amazing. I wouldn't call it my favorite from F.O.O.L. (Throne takes that title) but it's probably his most iconic song and a well-deserved top pick.
Amazing list, I agreed with almost all of these.

mcatBoomer coming through babay i haven't been into this label since 2017 so my favorites are all old as fuck "back in my day we had a noisestorm song every compilation" type picks lol
    30. W but should honestly be higher. this song aged like a fine wine
    29. GODDD i always forget about this one, i always thought tristam & braken were kinda iffy (especially because i dont really like flight) but this one is a classic. so much nostalgia
    28. i think this was my dream collab when i was younger. had no idea it even happened but with monstercat being as big as it is of course they'd get KP one day
    27. i wish he used the melody in the drop but i love this song so dearly
    26. this was the only good pbn song of that year
    25. the absolute stank face i hit dude
    24. ATLANTIC [BRARARARA] this is the better kitchenstep tune he made
    23. this one also aged STUPID well
    22. cant believe xilent has this many good songs
    21. MASSIVE MASSIVE MASSIVE W but i prefer stickup. and you can stick that up your a
    20. au5's 2K15 is one of the best runs in the history of this label (minus atlantis)
    19. this is the best one on the list so far (and my personal #1 off the top of my head) so i'm very excited to see what the next ones on this list are. GOD THE CHORRRRDDDSSSSSS
    18. oh hey this one! i remember it being in the sonic mania trailer which blew my mind as a kid, such a tune
    17. the rage face made me laugh
    16. BOLD ASS PICK. so funky and fresh, fractal is stupid underrated
    15. ehhhh i dont like his newer stuff but this is fine. closer to basshouse than complextro (the best subgenre of electro)
    14. this one too. it just feels like a bastardized version of the original. god i feel old saying that
    13. THIS ONE. YES. I LOVE THIS ONE
    12. i forgot nigel even put an electro tune on space cadet wtf?? this is such a groove
    11. OKAAYYYYYY (minus the minireview, 2012 has classics within it)
    10. what do i even need to say man
    9. yeah there's a lot of NF on this list isnt there. this was my first of his
    8. massively unexpected pick but i dig it! this song has a beautiful meaning behind it to me
    7. oh SHIT/i didnt even know au5 did another electro tune with danyka lol
    6. this is TM's best song period. i will stand by that forever
    5. BASED AS FUCKKKK (bass'd? bassed?)
    4. AGAIN with the FRACTAL, this is a really deep cut for monstercat as a whole
    3. this is electro?
    2. ohh yeah i forgot about this one shit. updated #1 lol
    1. again a bold pick but i respect it. showdown has always been a jam
final thoughts: needs more complextro in general, sad that 7MD + pixl + soulero all got snubbed, very happy that you didn't include any big room songs because the big room tunes on mcat suck major nuts and dick and balls and shit and cum

Electro is short for electrofunk. Electro House is Electro + Prog House. Basically the difference is that Electro House uses house kicks, more inclined to use claps than snares, and is more progressive chord and drop wise. Classic electro is more funk related than modern electro, which is more gritty
