No, not sad at all. Tether is a very useful tool for onboarding people in the underdeveloped world to bitcoin. They are able to get out of their horrible fiat in favor of the dollar, and then when they have enough savings to deal with btc vol, they pop over to btc. That's why Strike and others pair Tether and BTC. I'm glad to know that Tether is well backed. That helps btc adoption.

yeah, usdc is really bad compared to other stablecoins out there right now. it was tough to redeem when they depegged a few months ago due to the mass redemptions. if they can't handle that, they shouldn't be in the stablecoin business at all.
