This is amazing to watch. both bands are incredible. Brian, don't sell your lyrics short, they're incredible. I don't want to say they're better or worse than Brand New's lyrics, but they've got something completely unique about them that sets them apart. I personally go for TFB lyrics more than I go for Brand New lyrics at this point.
Funny I had a similar experience to what Brian describes of first hearing this album. I had just got Your Favorite Weapon (on CD) and then went on a school trip, too... only I was on a bus in Canada during my freshman year of high school. I remember being amazed at how I could listen to the whole album and love every song, and really feel the lyrics pulling on my little teenage heart.
It's super weird to me that their favorite Brand New album is YFW. I feel like they're the first people who have said that. It's always either Deja, or TDaG. Then again my second favorite album is Daisy, and almost no one agrees with me lol. Also, my favorite songs on YFW are: Seventy Times Seven, The No Seatbelt Song, and Soco.
Lunatic Prodigy While I personally like Deja Entendu more, Your Favorite Weapon is fucking great, and when I was first really, _really_ getting into lyrical music, it was Your Favorite Weapon that eased me into the rest of the stuff by Brand New. After years of listening to crappy pop music, Deja Entendu was really hard for me to dive right into at the time, and Your Favorite Weapon got me over that hump. It's a fantastic album; most punk-ish albums don't articulate their anger nearly as well as Jesse Lacey does on Your Favorite Weapon.
'i feel like it's a record you can listen to every song on.'
that's how i feel about all TFB albums
honestly almost everything they're saying about brand new and the lyrics and everything i think about them.
rachelnotfound
tell them at a show it'll blow brian's mind.
JESSE LACEY JUST CASUALLY WALKS ONTO CAMERA.
how they are with this album is how i am with the self titled album by tfb. all of the songs are amazing.
and now they're opening for them on tour along with modern baseball! I love these guys so much they're both such awesome bands
Jesse Lacey killed me in this video.
