I disagree. When I think of Yubel, i think of the OG Yubel, not the two edgy Montage Dragon looking ugly b@stards which came after it. I can understand one Dragon upgrade but two is really pushing it and seems like it could've been condensed.

The funny thing was that even in the anime the card was not that worth it, child Jaden insisted in trying to use it because he liked the card, but he would always lose afterwards.

In the anime, all three forms of Yubel had "Your opponent takes all Battle Damage from battles involving this Attack Position card", they nerfed them super hard for the OCG/TCG
That's the problem with a lot of OCG/TCG cards to be honest. For every Yubel or God Card that Konami trashes the effect on for no reason, you have a Red-Eyes Darkness Metal or Stratos whose effect is completely different and ends up causing a whole lot of problems because of it.
If they ever do a Yubel retrain or legacy support, it would be cool if they made an "ignoring the summoning conditions" card or something Extra-Deck related to make them untargetable by card effects.
@Gabriel Santos actually skill drain doesn't stop the loop as the eff to summon the next form is after being destroyed so its not on the field thus not affected by skill drain, but it still does ruin everything else as you take battle damage and thier protection effs are negated.

Field Spell: Endless Space Makes Yubel unable to be destroyed by card effects Once per turn if a Yubel is in your banished zone special summon it but it's effect get's negated (even in the graveyard) for the rest of the turn
This is one of the most requested legacy support I've seen on the Yugioh community, possibly because Yubel was such a good antagonist and with a half way decent deck, which is more that I can say about Arcana Force.
But I still desperately want Arcana Force support. Not because I expect it to become good, but because it's supposed to be about the Arcana of Tarot yet half of them don't even exist and it really bothers me

Why everybody stopped playing Yubel in one word: Cocytus. To be fair, Duel Links banned Cocytus, so that's nice, but the archetype hasn't been the same since then. Pure Fire Kings are a lot better, because of Garunix doing pretty much everything Terror Incarnate can and Arvata's effect negation against Blue-Eyes.
Would've really been an amazing effect. They should retrain these cards for that and maybe make Yubel's self destruct bring out the Terror Incarnate, but both would probably be a problem 😂

@@servbot128 Actually, Kluger is indirectly Yubel support, since with it, you can use Neos Fusion to set up Yubel in the grave. And a good Yubel player will know that the GY is the first form's natural habitat. The monster itself just makes it better then Foolish Burial. The Wiseman fetch... is kindof bad.
Another fun thing to note: by the time Fire Kings came out in the TCG, Yubel (and more specifically Terror Incarnate) had been powercrept not only by High Avatar Garunix, but also by an Earthbound Immortal card of all things.

Yubel should've forced your opponent to go into the battle phase each turn, or else all their monsters would get destroyed. Also make it that Yubel is the only monster they could target for attacks.
The anime effect makes it so the opponent takes any battle damage you would've taken, so you could attack with all of them for damage but ig konami thought that's too op or smth
The worst part about Terror Incarnate is those weird golden horns coming out it's back, which appear to be in the most inconvenient place for Yubel, because with those there it doesn't seem like they'd be able to flap their wings properly since the horns are in the way and thus would struggle to fly.

I think Yubel has one of the coolest designs in the whole game. In their first form they have the whole dual gender half-male half-female thing going on. I love how even the legs and arms are gendered, with one half being smooth and the other having bulging muscles. The second form is a bad ass dragon, and I like how the eye motif carries over. Then the third form is this eldritch abomination. The human face in the center is so grotesque too. I would love for Yubel to get more support. Even if it ends up being underwhelming, I just want more of the art!
@@BIastProcX In the Japanese version they use male pronouns, and their human form always looked male to me, so if I had to go out on a limb and choose one or the other, I'd say male. But generally I think they're not really male or female but something inbetween or both.
I actually used to play a dedicated Yubel deck back in like 2012. Would use Mystic Tomato to SS Yubel, Dark Hole then Call of the Haunted to help loop Yubel's abilities and phases. Did it win games? Not really but it was fun and cool as hell.
These cards really just exist for the story of the gx anime. In japanese, the names are detestible knight and extremely sorrowful dragon. With their effects to be undestroyable by battle and reflecting damage, it connects to their original purpose of protecting a certain individual forever. Having any other effect would have just not worked well with the lore presented.
I think another glaring problem is that the monsters have 0 Attack and rely on your opponent having monsters for you to damage them. So if you manage to clear your opponent's board, great--but then you need another way to actually close out the game, which is a big ask considering how much of your deck you need to devote to getting the Yubel line out.
@@crossdaboss8914 If there'd be retrains, would be nice if they made it "not miss timing." That, and give the later forms a hand effect to fetch the first form from the deck. Literally all that needs to change to make it usable. Yubel's bigest weakness is "brick" and "chain". Everything else is easy enough to manage.
Hello and thank you for your video. It's been a great delight seeing that people have not forgotten about the iconic Yubel archetype. Inspired by your video and stricken by nostalgia I wanted to share with you my personal story with these cards. Back in 2008, the golden years of rock music and skateboard culture, a lot of us middle-school kids were really into Yu-gi-oh! I have some great memories playing that game with my childhood friends. That's when I won all 3 Yubels in a duel. This card really meant and still means a lot to me and I built a unique deck which treated this card as it's boss monster which I have kept on low radar for all these years but I have decided to reveal it now because time is limited... This deck was Yubel/Exodia which has been an idea since the early days of Yubel but never looked at thoroughly. The potential of this deck during it's initial release was not meta-defining but was for a fact a great rogue deck. Due to the lack of removals back in the day, and the ease of keeping constantly Yubel on the field this control strategy made it possible for a good and fun, yet original playing experience . Don't get me wrong, this deck has zero chance nowadays,due to the powercreeping in Yugioh cards, but over the years, with the banlist and new cards that fit to it, it still is usable in a friendly environment with custom rules, or Edison format. I would like to present to you a few key cards that the Yubel engine is able to utilize to keep it's control nature. -Limit Reverse: I am starting with this card because it is the most most most important and beneficial card to Yubel. This card was released during the synchro era and was one of the early extender cards to go for synchro plays. But Yubel greatly accepted that card as it's own. It's a double benefit for it you know. Not only do you get to replace Yubel on the field, which is the key factor of the deck, but it's second effect which destroys the monster if changed to defence position, gives Yubel the opportunity to bring it's second form Yubel-Terror Incarnate to the field. Keep in mind that the second form is the true boss monster of Yubels due to it's controlling capability -Mystic Tomato: A self-explanatory card itself gets the second place on the list because back in the day where removals were limited, the opponent actually had to consider getting a -1 card to disrupt your tomato in contrast to today's cards which remove and get infinitely ++ by themselves. The tomato allows you to summon the Yubel instantly from your deck, setting you up by bypassing the, then, difficult summoning mechanics of Yubel which requires 2 tributes. -Mound of the Bound Creator: The field spell originally created to support the God cards and big bosses is another beneficial card to Yubel due to it's respectful stars 10, 11 and 12. MotBC helps with Yubel's disadvantage which is target/destruction by effects. This makes Yubel completely untouchable (again by the older cards) and actually helps with the first Yubel's downfall which is tributing a monster on your side of the field. -Cards like Sangan, Witch of the Black Forest, Emissary of the Afterlife: These cards saw limitations back in the day, because of the banlist but over the years they have all been unbanned and added great potential to the deck. Back in the day I would use Emissary x3 but now you do not need him anymore since Sangan and Witch are legal again. These cards not only turn the downfall of 1st Yubel form into an asset, by setting them and tributing at the EP for an Exodia piece but they also benefir greatly from Yubel 2nd form(the true boss of the deck) and cards like Dark Hole that both them and the Yubels like. -Stygian Street Patrol: I would also want to give STP an honorarymention because he is probably the only card I have thought of that helps bypass the awful situation where you have Yubel in your hand. If he is in the GY he makes it possible for you to SS a Yubel from your hand with the cost of himself being removed. This deck has helped me win a few locals back in the day and even during the XYZ era where disruptions became more popular, and I even won one last year in a format where Pendulums and Links were banned proving that it is still an OK deck to play. I would like to say that I have played THOUSANDS and thousands of duels with this deck and it is a beautiful and artistic deck to play. As I said, I planned to never release this deck in public but because time is limited I wanted to show you guys that this card is actually a very beautiful card and it is something more than just an anime, gimmicky memento. I also would like to add that the Golden Ratio for Yubels after SO MUCH TESTING is Yubel x2, Yubel- Terror Incarnate x1, Yubel- The Ultimate Nightmare x1. This is because Yubel helps you bring the others from Deck/Hand/GY which makes the use of more copies obsolete.

They've left the window open for Yubel support with the sacred beast structure deck, with cards with effects for level 10 monsters and fiends with 0 atk and def. I could see them making yubel support that ties into that, as she played them in the anime.

I know not everyone likes to talk about duel links, but I love the videos where you talk about why some cards were better/worse in duel links than the TCG. Maybe you could do some on other cards/decks like why noble knights or gagaga's have been so good

Thanks for the video! I'd like to add that True Kings could use Yubel as a plus card, as the card that Diagram popped replaced itself. So even if the Diagram was Ash'd, you still had at least one body on board to pass on. You ran 1 Yubel and 1 Terror. Nightmare is optional, depending on how many other bricks the deck is running. If Terror and Nightmare are the deck's only 2 bricks, you were unlikely to draw them very often, so you could then pop Terror with a True King, and have that extra bit of push. But sometimes, my mixed builds would run other bricks instead, since they have a higher turnover rate. Even if you didn't have Diagram at the time, all the True Kings and even Ultimate Conductor Tyranno were able to pop Yubel from the hand, in a much more effective way than any of the Fire King cards ever could. Then later when Double Evolution Pill came out, you could banish your Yubel cards as the non-dinos. Like you said, Terror Incarnate was an alright Dark Hole when it needed to be, clearing your opponent's board or triggering your searches in the End Phase. But other times, it was a Spirit Reaper, ending your opponent's Battle Phase so you can build your resources back up, or forcing your opponent's removal cards before you build your board. There's times when it functions like Cyber Dragon, a free summon to use as an extra body for whatever you happen to need an extra body for at that moment. Sometimes it could even be a Magic Cylinder, since a lot of people didn't want to read all that text. Or it could just be a bricky topdeck that loses you a game, like Dark Magician of Chaos used to be. It took on the functions of a whole lot of Limited GX cards all at once! This was probably when Yubel was at its peak, just as a 2-3 card engine. Eventually, Lithosagym was banned and Diagram was limited. So it lost viability. Even I don't dare to run Yubel now, so that's saying something.

Very informative video and as a yubel player who has been playing the deck since phantom darkness i got to say i habe given alot of decks runs for there money evem alot of wins. The fire king card was a nice surprise as never thought of that card and instantly bought a playset :) also this video has given me the push to do a deck profile and get back into covering my decks ect so thanks :) also i really hope they will come back with some suppourt for her deck
1 of my favorite combos was combining terror incarnate with sacred phoenix nephtys. Terror kills nephtys and all other monsters then next turn nephtys comes back in the stand by phase destroying all back row. Essentially blackrose every turn.
Yubel with the fire king cards was a strong combo. Especially if you got a garunix loop going. Just having the field spell to immediately go into a terror incarnate was also pretty good for the time.
Yubel was one of my favorite fun decks to play. It didn’t win all the time but it was one of the first decks I put together and modified over the years.

@@guythat779 Because of a field spell. I'm not even kidding. "B.E.F. Zelos" fixed many problems of that group of cards. People keep saying that Rata (a youtuber) memed the card into existence and it's hilarious.
I used to love using yubel! It had some interesting combo plays with certain decks. In pure yubel you could get calculator or montage dragon for giant beatsticks. Also nepthys lock was actually pretty easy to pull off. Fire king decks can also run yubel to be able to stall until they can overwhelm with better monsters.
I love yubel especially the second form. Playing it in tgc in my rank 10 xyz deck. It doesn't contains pendulum or link (I really don't like link), but I'm still able to beat some decks with it
something I've always wanted to do was get the coliseum field spell, rare gold armor equip spell, yubel and something that protects her from being targeted by card effects all out on the field at once. I think it would/could be strong.
Tbh i'd love some Yubel support cards, it should really be an archetype, I don't even need it to be a meta archetype just something fun you could play and maybe have mild success with lol
i feel like ultimate nightmare should've kept it's dark hole effect, but combine it with it's actual effect so it dark holes the field, and either deals damage to your opponent equal to all the atk of their monsters, or half the atk of all monsters destroyed with the effect for a card that takes so much effort to get out, having it essentially be a win con instead of just being a strong monster would fit a lot more
When Union Carrier was still at Limited, I actually used to play Yubel in my Blackwing/Raidraptor/Phantom Knight Deck. Summon PK Rusty Bardiche, summon Union Carrier, use Union Carrier to equip Yubel - Terror Incarnate to a Dark-type monster, XYZ summon into a Dark-type monster to trigger Rusty Bardiche's effect and pop Terror Incarnate, summon out Ultimate Nightmare with incredible consistency. Granted, it didn't win me a lot of games but it did cause a lot of opponents to burst out laughing because they weren't expecting it.

Great video! One more downside to Yubel is that if you bring it out and even with protection (lets say solemns or safezones) you still lack a wincondition! With Dark Armed Return you can clear the board and otk but since yubel has 0 atk all you can do is stall. Summoning your own monsters when terrorincarnate is on the field sucks cuz they blow up after the turn....

I really like Yubel, and did try to make it work casually back in the day. But I would rather have a rework for Yubel in modern time instead of having "legacy support" for pretty bad cards.
I briefly remember this monster from the anime. You bump it into things and the opponent takes damage. I don't remember if the anime version had a tribute upkeep. I thought that cards gonna get nerfed when it comes out.

Actually for me I have a shaddol deck with the dark arm dragon which it makes a perfect deck by able to send then shaddol monsters to the graveyard from the spells that can send it them to the graveyard.
Couldn't you use Yubel with the unchained archetype? Since unchained wants to be destroyed and Yubel could be destroyed by there effects to bring out terror and have terror board wipe to trigger unchained effects?
Not instead of, you only need a couple of the cards, its a good package. Its a normal summon engine providing you 2 monsters and a discard to res in the form of a continuous spell.
Very easy to use and get other forms but sadly easy to get rid of as more and more powerful monsters came around with effect immunity. Das Abscheulich Ritter (Terror Incarnate) was the fun one personally.
For a while I ran a pretty competitive Yubel deck, using the Darkworld engine. It worked all the way up until Blackship of Corn was in every extra deck. Armageddon Knight was a pretty good card, and Tomatoes float into themselves, Yubel, and Broww. Tomatoes were also plant monsters if you wanted to sneak cheeky lethals with Black Rose Dragon (Fabled Raven, pitch Beige is Level 7). As for Yubel itself? Ran 2/1/1 for the pieces. They were fiends, so they really didn't brick up the hand (Terraforming/Gates lol) and were trivial to float into or dump into the grave. Call of the Haunted was generally good for free advantage on Darkworld Pieces (Recycling Snowws back from grave with a free 3k beater on board lol), and using it to bring back Yubel made the board annoying to get through. Star of the show was Limit Reverse, of course. End Phase of the opponent's turn, Limit Reverse Yubel. MP1, change Yubel to defense, destroy it, bring out Terror Incarnate. From there, they have an annoying unkillable monster that floats, and that destroys everything else in the end phase. Use a board wipe to clear it? Chain Call, summon Yubel, re-summon Terror Incarnate. Banish it? Ultimate Knightmare still sticks. Leave it alone? Beige-Grapha, Beige-Grapha means you're on a 2 turn clock with that empty board.

Its not super relevant, but worth noting that yubel's floating effect misses timing. Destroying yubel on chain link 2 was one of the best ways to remove it in duel links.
@@doctorplatorah during the end phase, your opponent activates yubel - terror incarnate to destroy all other monsters on the field. In response, you chain raigeki break, target terror incarnate. The chain resolves, and terror incarnate is destroyed from raigeki break, then all other monsters are destroyed from terror incarnate's effect. Because terror incarnate's destruction was not the last thing to happen in the chain, its effect misses timing, preventing you from summoning the ultimate nightmare.
i have all 3 forms of yubel, and i really like her effect, but i haven't actually been able to use her because o don't know what deck to put the cards in, i even have a support card for it, master key beetle to cover the weakness to card effects
I'm a little late to this, but I remember running a Fiend deck in my middle school years, and this was my boss monster, and I was undefeated for a while there. It may be because there were only like a dozen players in my hometown at the time, but I had this stupid combo to get Terror Incarnate to the field, use Compulsory Evacuation Device to banish it for a turn, and get its third form. Next turn I'd have them both. It was nasty way back when
I used Yubel on the duel network (I think that was the website? The Showdown equivalent for Yugioh years ago) and it was my favorite deck. It wasn't meta whatsoever but I enjoyed the dominance.
I have been working on a Yubel deck ever since the Synchro era and yeah, it's been inconsistent there. I did however find that sending Yubel to the Graveyard and then reviving it it's a lot more effective than waiting. In the sense that opponents are naturally inclined to destroy your backrow. So if for example I have Limit Reverse or Call of the Haunted and they try to destroy them, I get Terror incarnate for free. Curiously I also found a good engine to put Yubel directly into the Grave was using Neos Fusion into Kluger, facilitated through Verte Anaconda. Yes, I know doing Dragoon is better, but that's beside the point. I think it can work in a sense, using Yubel more defensively at the start. Makes the opponent not want to pop your backrow because it constantly turns into Terror, and so you can support it with Trap cards that do nice disruption but also further the deck's playstyle, like playing triple Torrential Tribute.
So, I actually think I have the perfect deck to slot a Yubel in to, which will consistently pay the cost of Yubel without it being a setback: A Zombie World deck using Doomking Balerdroch. Balerdroch summons itself from the graveyard for free every standby phase, as long as Zombie World exists. Frankly, Yubel would be playing second fiddle to Balerdroch and his free repeatable "remove monsters from play" effect, but it would eliminate the cost downside and provide a good amount of generic zombie support for Yubel, if you really wanted to use her.
My favorite thing about Yubel is that their design looks like a three-stage final boss from an RPG

I disagree. When I think of Yubel, i think of the OG Yubel, not the two edgy Montage Dragon looking ugly b@stards which came after it. I can understand one Dragon upgrade but two is really pushing it and seems like it could've been condensed.

The funny thing was that even in the anime the card was not that worth it, child Jaden insisted in trying to use it because he liked the card, but he would always lose afterwards.

In the anime, all three forms of Yubel had "Your opponent takes all Battle Damage from battles involving this Attack Position card", they nerfed them super hard for the OCG/TCG
Imagine you play with their REAL (anime) effects, they don't miss timing, and have actual protection.....
That's the problem with a lot of OCG/TCG cards to be honest. For every Yubel or God Card that Konami trashes the effect on for no reason, you have a Red-Eyes Darkness Metal or Stratos whose effect is completely different and ends up causing a whole lot of problems because of it.
pretty sure they didn't nerf her for the TCG and buffed her for the anime. Weird to expect anime effects in the TCG.
Fun Fact: Yubel's Anime self destruction effect did trigger the evolution forms of Yubel.

@Gabriel Santos actually skill drain doesn't stop the loop as the eff to summon the next form is after being destroyed so its not on the field thus not affected by skill drain, but it still does ruin everything else as you take battle damage and thier protection effs are negated.

Makes Yubel unable to be destroyed by card effects
Once per turn if a Yubel is in your banished zone special summon it but it's effect get's negated (even in the graveyard) for the rest of the turn
This is one of the most requested legacy support I've seen on the Yugioh community, possibly because Yubel was such a good antagonist and with a half way decent deck, which is more that I can say about Arcana Force.
But I still desperately want Arcana Force support.
Not because I expect it to become good, but because it's supposed to be about the Arcana of Tarot yet half of them don't even exist and it really bothers me

Why everybody stopped playing Yubel in one word: Cocytus.
To be fair, Duel Links banned Cocytus, so that's nice, but the archetype hasn't been the same since then. Pure Fire Kings are a lot better, because of Garunix doing pretty much everything Terror Incarnate can and Arvata's effect negation against Blue-Eyes.

the ironic thing about yubel is that the best way to play the card is to never have it hit the field.
I would disagree here. Have it hit the field with Lair of Darkness and proceed to tribute your opponent's monsters a maintainance cost.

And a good Yubel player will know that the GY is the first form's natural habitat. The monster itself just makes it better then Foolish Burial. The Wiseman fetch... is kindof bad.

Yubel should've forced your opponent to go into the battle phase each turn, or else all their monsters would get destroyed. Also make it that Yubel is the only monster they could target for attacks.

The anime effect makes it so the opponent takes any battle damage you would've taken, so you could attack with all of them for damage but ig konami thought that's too op or smth
The worst part about Terror Incarnate is those weird golden horns coming out it's back, which appear to be in the most inconvenient place for Yubel, because with those there it doesn't seem like they'd be able to flap their wings properly since the horns are in the way and thus would struggle to fly.

I think Yubel has one of the coolest designs in the whole game. In their first form they have the whole dual gender half-male half-female thing going on. I love how even the legs and arms are gendered, with one half being smooth and the other having bulging muscles. The second form is a bad ass dragon, and I like how the eye motif carries over. Then the third form is this eldritch abomination. The human face in the center is so grotesque too. I would love for Yubel to get more support. Even if it ends up being underwhelming, I just want more of the art!

I actually used to play a dedicated Yubel deck back in like 2012. Would use Mystic Tomato to SS Yubel, Dark Hole then Call of the Haunted to help loop Yubel's abilities and phases.
Did it win games? Not really but it was fun and cool as hell.

These cards really just exist for the story of the gx anime. In japanese, the names are detestible knight and extremely sorrowful dragon. With their effects to be undestroyable by battle and reflecting damage, it connects to their original purpose of protecting a certain individual forever.
Having any other effect would have just not worked well with the lore presented.
I think another glaring problem is that the monsters have 0 Attack and rely on your opponent having monsters for you to damage them. So if you manage to clear your opponent's board, great--but then you need another way to actually close out the game, which is a big ask considering how much of your deck you need to devote to getting the Yubel line out.

@@crossdaboss8914 If there'd be retrains, would be nice if they made it "not miss timing." That, and give the later forms a hand effect to fetch the first form from the deck. Literally all that needs to change to make it usable. Yubel's bigest weakness is "brick" and "chain". Everything else is easy enough to manage.
Hello and thank you for your video. It's been a great delight seeing that people have not forgotten about the iconic Yubel archetype. Inspired by your video and stricken by nostalgia I wanted to share with you my personal story with these cards.
Back in 2008, the golden years of rock music and skateboard culture, a lot of us middle-school kids were really into Yu-gi-oh! I have some great memories playing that game with my childhood friends. That's when I won all 3 Yubels in a duel. This card really meant and still means a lot to me and I built a unique deck which treated this card as it's boss monster which I have kept on low radar for all these years but I have decided to reveal it now because time is limited...
This deck was Yubel/Exodia which has been an idea since the early days of Yubel but never looked at thoroughly.
The potential of this deck during it's initial release was not meta-defining but was for a fact a great rogue deck. Due to the lack of removals back in the day, and the ease of keeping constantly Yubel on the field this control strategy made it possible for a good and fun, yet original playing experience .
Don't get me wrong, this deck has zero chance nowadays,due to the powercreeping in Yugioh cards, but over the years, with the banlist and new cards that fit to it, it still is usable in a friendly environment with custom rules, or Edison format. I would like to present to you a few key cards that the Yubel engine is able to utilize to keep it's control nature.
-Limit Reverse: I am starting with this card because it is the most most most important and beneficial card to Yubel. This card was released during the synchro era and was one of the early extender cards to go for synchro plays. But Yubel greatly accepted that card as it's own. It's a double benefit for it you know. Not only do you get to replace Yubel on the field, which is the key factor of the deck, but it's second effect which destroys the monster if changed to defence position, gives Yubel the opportunity to bring it's second form Yubel-Terror Incarnate to the field. Keep in mind that the second form is the true boss monster of Yubels due to it's controlling capability
-Mystic Tomato: A self-explanatory card itself gets the second place on the list because back in the day where removals were limited, the opponent actually had to consider getting a -1 card to disrupt your tomato in contrast to today's cards which remove and get infinitely ++ by themselves. The tomato allows you to summon the Yubel instantly from your deck, setting you up by bypassing the, then, difficult summoning mechanics of Yubel which requires 2 tributes.
-Mound of the Bound Creator: The field spell originally created to support the God cards and big bosses is another beneficial card to Yubel due to it's respectful stars 10, 11 and 12. MotBC helps with Yubel's disadvantage which is target/destruction by effects. This makes Yubel completely untouchable (again by the older cards) and actually helps with the first Yubel's downfall which is tributing a monster on your side of the field.
-Cards like Sangan, Witch of the Black Forest, Emissary of the Afterlife: These cards saw limitations back in the day, because of the banlist but over the years they have all been unbanned and added great potential to the deck. Back in the day I would use Emissary x3 but now you do not need him anymore since Sangan and Witch are legal again. These cards not only turn the downfall of 1st Yubel form into an asset, by setting them and tributing at the EP for an Exodia piece but they also benefir greatly from Yubel 2nd form(the true boss of the deck) and cards like Dark Hole that both them and the Yubels like.
-Stygian Street Patrol: I would also want to give STP an honorarymention because he is probably the only card I have thought of that helps bypass the awful situation where you have Yubel in your hand. If he is in the GY he makes it possible for you to SS a Yubel from your hand with the cost of himself being removed.
This deck has helped me win a few locals back in the day and even during the XYZ era where disruptions became more popular, and I even won one last year in a format where Pendulums and Links were banned proving that it is still an OK deck to play. I would like to say that I have played THOUSANDS and thousands of duels with this deck and it is a beautiful and artistic deck to play. As I said, I planned to never release this deck in public but because time is limited I wanted to show you guys that this card is actually a very beautiful card and it is something more than just an anime, gimmicky memento. Sorry for TLTR, if even one of you reading this gets inspired and decides to build a deck around this that would make me really happy.

I also would like to add that the Golden Ratio for Yubels after SO MUCH TESTING is Yubel x2, Yubel- Terror Incarnate x1, Yubel- The Ultimate Nightmare x1. This is because Yubel helps you bring the others from Deck/Hand/GY which makes the use of more copies obsolete.

They've left the window open for Yubel support with the sacred beast structure deck, with cards with effects for level 10 monsters and fiends with 0 atk and def. I could see them making yubel support that ties into that, as she played them in the anime.

Thanks for the video! I'd like to add that True Kings could use Yubel as a plus card, as the card that Diagram popped replaced itself. So even if the Diagram was Ash'd, you still had at least one body on board to pass on. You ran 1 Yubel and 1 Terror.
Nightmare is optional, depending on how many other bricks the deck is running. If Terror and Nightmare are the deck's only 2 bricks, you were unlikely to draw them very often, so you could then pop Terror with a True King, and have that extra bit of push. But sometimes, my mixed builds would run other bricks instead, since they have a higher turnover rate.
Even if you didn't have Diagram at the time, all the True Kings and even Ultimate Conductor Tyranno were able to pop Yubel from the hand, in a much more effective way than any of the Fire King cards ever could. Then later when Double Evolution Pill came out, you could banish your Yubel cards as the non-dinos.
Like you said, Terror Incarnate was an alright Dark Hole when it needed to be, clearing your opponent's board or triggering your searches in the End Phase. But other times, it was a Spirit Reaper, ending your opponent's Battle Phase so you can build your resources back up, or forcing your opponent's removal cards before you build your board. There's times when it functions like Cyber Dragon, a free summon to use as an extra body for whatever you happen to need an extra body for at that moment. Sometimes it could even be a Magic Cylinder, since a lot of people didn't want to read all that text. Or it could just be a bricky topdeck that loses you a game, like Dark Magician of Chaos used to be. It took on the functions of a whole lot of Limited GX cards all at once!
This was probably when Yubel was at its peak, just as a 2-3 card engine. Eventually, Lithosagym was banned and Diagram was limited. So it lost viability. Even I don't dare to run Yubel now, so that's saying something.

Very informative video and as a yubel player who has been playing the deck since phantom darkness i got to say i habe given alot of decks runs for there money evem alot of wins. The fire king card was a nice surprise as never thought of that card and instantly bought a playset :) also this video has given me the push to do a deck profile and get back into covering my decks ect so thanks :) also i really hope they will come back with some suppourt for her deck

Yubel Structure Deck confirmed!
Yubel is my favourite on Duel Links. No, not the card, the character. They have a really cool design and special draw works wonders on my deck.
1 of my favorite combos was combining terror incarnate with sacred phoenix nephtys. Terror kills nephtys and all other monsters then next turn nephtys comes back in the stand by phase destroying all back row. Essentially blackrose every turn.
Yubel with the fire king cards was a strong combo. Especially if you got a garunix loop going. Just having the field spell to immediately go into a terror incarnate was also pretty good for the time.
Yubel was one of my favorite fun decks to play. It didn’t win all the time but it was one of the first decks I put together and modified over the years.
Love this series. Can you do one about recycle cards, for example buriel from a different dimension.

It was used on the gx anime by a random character and is normally a deck that duke devlin uses on some games.

@@guythat779 Because of a field spell. I'm not even kidding. "B.E.F. Zelos" fixed many problems of that group of cards. People keep saying that Rata (a youtuber) memed the card into existence and it's hilarious.
I used to love using yubel! It had some interesting combo plays with certain decks. In pure yubel you could get calculator or montage dragon for giant beatsticks. Also nepthys lock was actually pretty easy to pull off.
Fire king decks can also run yubel to be able to stall until they can overwhelm with better monsters.
I used this deck back in high school and it was kinda cool. Hopefully they add support to this series and Venom that isn't related to Starving Venom

I love yubel especially the second form. Playing it in tgc in my rank 10 xyz deck. It doesn't contains pendulum or link (I really don't like link), but I'm still able to beat some decks with it

something I've always wanted to do was get the coliseum field spell, rare gold armor equip spell, yubel and something that protects her from being targeted by card effects all out on the field at once. I think it would/could be strong.
A big issue with Yubel is the fact that in the anime, they _can_ attack into the enemy monsters to reflect damage.
Tbh i'd love some Yubel support cards, it should really be an archetype, I don't even need it to be a meta archetype just something fun you could play and maybe have mild success with lol

i feel like ultimate nightmare should've kept it's dark hole effect, but combine it with it's actual effect
so it dark holes the field, and either deals damage to your opponent equal to all the atk of their monsters, or half the atk of all monsters destroyed with the effect
for a card that takes so much effort to get out, having it essentially be a win con instead of just being a strong monster would fit a lot more
When Union Carrier was still at Limited, I actually used to play Yubel in my Blackwing/Raidraptor/Phantom Knight Deck. Summon PK Rusty Bardiche, summon Union Carrier, use Union Carrier to equip Yubel - Terror Incarnate to a Dark-type monster, XYZ summon into a Dark-type monster to trigger Rusty Bardiche's effect and pop Terror Incarnate, summon out Ultimate Nightmare with incredible consistency.
Granted, it didn't win me a lot of games but it did cause a lot of opponents to burst out laughing because they weren't expecting it.

Great video! One more downside to Yubel is that if you bring it out and even with protection (lets say solemns or safezones) you still lack a wincondition! With Dark Armed Return you can clear the board and otk but since yubel has 0 atk all you can do is stall. Summoning your own monsters when terrorincarnate is on the field sucks cuz they blow up after the turn....
As a duel links player that disclaimer at the start was very much appreciated.

I really like Yubel, and did try to make it work casually back in the day. But I would rather have a rework for Yubel in modern time instead of having "legacy support" for pretty bad cards.

I briefly remember this monster from the anime. You bump it into things and the opponent takes damage. I don't remember if the anime version had a tribute upkeep. I thought that cards gonna get nerfed when it comes out.

She has no protection effects plus a high level monster. She can't force opponents to attack it and needs a monster to keep it on the field

Actually for me I have a shaddol deck with the dark arm dragon which it makes a perfect deck by able to send then shaddol monsters to the graveyard from the spells that can send it them to the graveyard.
I won against my cat using Yubel deck, mostly because my cat doesn't have a deck. But that means Yubel is meta.
Couldn't you use Yubel with the unchained archetype? Since unchained wants to be destroyed and Yubel could be destroyed by there effects to bring out terror and have terror board wipe to trigger unchained effects?
The sacred beast cards allow you to summon it from grave easily as well, it is a 0/0 dark fiend.

Not instead of, you only need a couple of the cards, its a good package. Its a normal summon engine providing you 2 monsters and a discard to res in the form of a continuous spell.
Very easy to use and get other forms but sadly easy to get rid of as more and more powerful monsters came around with effect immunity. Das Abscheulich Ritter (Terror Incarnate) was the fun one personally.
For a while I ran a pretty competitive Yubel deck, using the Darkworld engine. It worked all the way up until Blackship of Corn was in every extra deck. Armageddon Knight was a pretty good card, and Tomatoes float into themselves, Yubel, and Broww. Tomatoes were also plant monsters if you wanted to sneak cheeky lethals with Black Rose Dragon (Fabled Raven, pitch Beige is Level 7).
As for Yubel itself? Ran 2/1/1 for the pieces. They were fiends, so they really didn't brick up the hand (Terraforming/Gates lol) and were trivial to float into or dump into the grave. Call of the Haunted was generally good for free advantage on Darkworld Pieces (Recycling Snowws back from grave with a free 3k beater on board lol), and using it to bring back Yubel made the board annoying to get through.
Star of the show was Limit Reverse, of course. End Phase of the opponent's turn, Limit Reverse Yubel. MP1, change Yubel to defense, destroy it, bring out Terror Incarnate. From there, they have an annoying unkillable monster that floats, and that destroys everything else in the end phase. Use a board wipe to clear it? Chain Call, summon Yubel, re-summon Terror Incarnate. Banish it? Ultimate Knightmare still sticks. Leave it alone? Beige-Grapha, Beige-Grapha means you're on a 2 turn clock with that empty board.
Anyone think Meklord/Yubel would be a thing in Duel Links?

Can you do the Neos archetype next?
Neos isn't to bad in modern era no meta but far better than they were 3 years ago
I really wish Yubel would recieve new support, similar to the Sacred Beast structure decks and the new Egyptian God support.
With tenki released in duel links it boosted consistency of fire king/yubel decc.
Its not super relevant, but worth noting that yubel's floating effect misses timing. Destroying yubel on chain link 2 was one of the best ways to remove it in duel links.

@@doctorplatorah during the end phase, your opponent activates yubel - terror incarnate to destroy all other monsters on the field. In response, you chain raigeki break, target terror incarnate. The chain resolves, and terror incarnate is destroyed from raigeki break, then all other monsters are destroyed from terror incarnate's effect. Because terror incarnate's destruction was not the last thing to happen in the chain, its effect misses timing, preventing you from summoning the ultimate nightmare.
Doesnt matter too much since Yubel decks play fire king island to get her effect off

i have all 3 forms of yubel, and i really like her effect, but i haven't actually been able to use her because o don't know what deck to put the cards in, i even have a support card for it, master key beetle to cover the weakness to card effects
I'm a little late to this, but I remember running a Fiend deck in my middle school years, and this was my boss monster, and I was undefeated for a while there. It may be because there were only like a dozen players in my hometown at the time, but I had this stupid combo to get Terror Incarnate to the field, use Compulsory Evacuation Device to banish it for a turn, and get its third form. Next turn I'd have them both. It was nasty way back when

I used to play yubel back in the day and even still yubel control in duel links. Shes my fav card and i recently got her in red rare
I used Yubel on the duel network (I think that was the website? The Showdown equivalent for Yugioh years ago) and it was my favorite deck. It wasn't meta whatsoever but I enjoyed the dominance.

I have been working on a Yubel deck ever since the Synchro era and yeah, it's been inconsistent there. I did however find that sending Yubel to the Graveyard and then reviving it it's a lot more effective than waiting. In the sense that opponents are naturally inclined to destroy your backrow. So if for example I have Limit Reverse or Call of the Haunted and they try to destroy them, I get Terror incarnate for free.
Curiously I also found a good engine to put Yubel directly into the Grave was using Neos Fusion into Kluger, facilitated through Verte Anaconda. Yes, I know doing Dragoon is better, but that's beside the point.
I think it can work in a sense, using Yubel more defensively at the start. Makes the opponent not want to pop your backrow because it constantly turns into Terror, and so you can support it with Trap cards that do nice disruption but also further the deck's playstyle, like playing triple Torrential Tribute.
So, I actually think I have the perfect deck to slot a Yubel in to, which will consistently pay the cost of Yubel without it being a setback:
A Zombie World deck using Doomking Balerdroch.
Balerdroch summons itself from the graveyard for free every standby phase, as long as Zombie World exists.
Frankly, Yubel would be playing second fiddle to Balerdroch and his free repeatable "remove monsters from play" effect, but it would eliminate the cost downside and provide a good amount of generic zombie support for Yubel, if you really wanted to use her.
I remember trying to use yubel with edge imp scissors to loop it and try to deck out my opponent... Fun times in the schoolyard
