    John Major was a fine Prime Minister. He was just kicked out because the Tories had been in power for 18 years and people were fatigued.

      Same in 2024, the Tories have been in power for 14 years and it’s time we got them out

      @@stubru16did he bollocks. His premiership was the last period of genuine growth and prosperity in this country and the facts and stats pretty much back that up. Since 2010 the government of this country has been about managed decline and failure and a race to the bottom in terms of calibre of Prime Ministers.

    John Major was a real gentleman. He was indeed kicked after 18 years because people were tired of Tories.
    Lets see what Sunak will say.

      Charles Haughey unlike you who cut the Irish debt completely between 1987 and 1989

    • @craw.54

      Yeah, even though that was necessary, wanna know why? Because the predecessor of him had the national debt GNP ratio rose from 94% to 129%, therefore Haughey had no choice but to do that.

    If you think Blair was bad look at our current government, at least under Tony Blair tuition fees weren't at £9,000 a year, an EU referendum wasn't held and working class people could achieve. Fox hunting was made illegal, a peace deal in Northern Ireland was achieved, a smoking ban was introduced indoors. Blair wasn't perfect and the War in Iraq let him down but he did a lot of good for our country despite the bad.

    • @Kntr111
      @Kntr111 6 лет назад +1

      David Holroyd you do realise that labour were the ones that introduced tuition fees in the first place?

    • @davidholroyd6215
      @davidholroyd6215 6 лет назад +3

      Yes I am aware of that and it's an unfortunate truth, but the Tories exacerbated the situation when they increased the fees to £9,000. Labour haven't been in power for over 7 years now. Are the Conservatives going to keep blaming them for the problems this government created?

    I remember DISTINCTLY how BAKING HOT the weather was on this day..it was quite incredible!. The political temperature was also bubbling of course as 18 years of Toryism FINALLY ended and a new epoch began.A very PROUD moment for ANY BRITISH DEMOCRAT as one ideology gives way PEACEFULLY and LAWFULLY to another. No matter what I think of the winner or loser in a UK general election, I always feel proud and YES, genuinely excited and pleased for the new Prime minister that they, as an individual, have achieved the very PINNACLE of any political carreer,PRIME MINISTER of one of the most historical,wealthy, MIGHTY and SIGNIFICANT nations on this EARTH!. IF we were not.....WHY would SO many people be SO desperate to live on these shores that they risk their VERY LIFE to get here?. Why would our decision to BREXIT cause such RUCKTIONS around the world?. UK......BELIEVE!!.

      @craw.54 4 года назад +1

      Blair wasn't better, regardless of what he did for us. He caused a recession and brought in debts among the biggest in history, millions of people lost his jobs, et cetera, and believe me, I could go ON with many reasons as to why Blair was awful.

      @@craw.54 Yeah OK mate, back to reality

    • @craw.54
      @craw.54 4 года назад

      This is reality, actually, and it's clearly the truth, whether you like it or not. Every time Labour left government (except for 1970), the economy was in shambles. Was the economy in shambles in 1997 when Blair became PM? No, unemployment was falling, interest rates was falling, the economy was booming, et cetera, and I could go on and on about John Major and Tony Blair, but instead, I want YOU to see this for yourself. Blair did good things for us, yes, but regardless of what he did, he still caused a massive recession in which millions of people lost their jobs and caused debts among the biggest in history. I'd suggest you check your facts first before talking about going "back to reality", mate.

      @@craw.54 You're not falling for that bullshit economic responsibility bollox? Oh I pity the brainwashed, Black Wednesday? Thatcher's borrowing? Osborne's Q.E.? You're so ill informed it's barely worth conversing

    • @craw.54
      @craw.54 4 года назад

      Well actually, I have told you that I acknowledged what Major did, but regardless, Blair was still worse, clearly. I mean, I know you obviously won't acknowledge it, but it's OBVIOUS that he spent too much. Look at government budget records. Thanks to Blair, we have had a massive recession and debts among the biggest in history, yet you still don't care. and continue to ramp on about Labour's spending, and the Conservatives' failures. Of course I know you yourself might be Labour, which is why you keep ignoring my facts, but the worst part about it is that you STILL ignore what Labour has done, and believe me, as I said before, I've MUCH more facts as to why Blair was worse than Major, despite Black Wednesday, despite Major doing everything Europe told him what to do, despite doing everything everything else told him to do, despite being incompetent, too nice, weak, et cetera, I could go ON if I wanted to, but it's obvious I'm wasting my time who's obviously bias for Labour, doesn't care what Labour did that was awful, instead you talk about everything good that they did, and you're bias towards the Tories, talking about everything bad they did and nothing good they did. There's clearly no point in talking to you, even when I simultaneously acknowledge what Major did that was right and wrong, and his mistakes, even my reasoning that you've ignored, calling the economic responsibility "bollocks".
