    Thank you for the video it was very helpful.
    WARNING: There was just one problem, that you will probably want to know about. Our HE280 did NOT include a bunch of the stuff that came with yours, as shown in the video.
    We bought the Honeywell HE280D2001/U (which is the same but bigger than the HE240), but it did NOT come with the 6" duct, the 6" duct collar, 18 gauge wire, 1/4" OD water tubing, 1/2" ID drain tubing, the aluminum foil tape, and the water valve. Everything else looks the same.
    I also checked the manual online, before purchasing. The manual I found was "Honeywell Home HE240, HE280 Humidifier and Installation Kit," and it listed everything that yours came with in the video. The manual that came with the one we bought had the same title, except the title was missing "and Installation Kit." I Googled extensively and I was unable to find an HE240 or HE280 for sale that comes with the installation kit. I also looked for the installation kit separately, but couldn't find that either.
    This isn't huge problem if you know this, but it was quite annoying, when I found this out when I was about to install it. I would have sourced and purchased the extra items at the same time I bought the HE280, if I had known. This added about 3 hours (sourcing online, and going out again and buying all the extra pieces). One of the reasons I liked the HE240/280 was that I thought it came with all these extra pieces, so it would have saved me having to go out and get them.
    Anyway, thank you for your video. It's very clear and your explanations and tips were very helpful.

    Awesome video! Thank you so much for putting this content out. The instructions for this humidifier are vague and hard to understand, and I’m an experienced DIYer. Without this video I’d probably still be fighting this project.

    32:48 I’m using the wall transformer how do I wire up the terminal block? Red to red and white at the terminal block? Great video. Thanks for the video and for sharing your experience

    • @thegaragehub
      @thegaragehub 11 месяцев назад

      That white terminal block needs to receive 24v and ground to energize the solenoid valve, the humidistat interrupts either 24v or ground to open or close the solenoid valve. Hope that helps!

    • @keanenharrison7530
      @keanenharrison7530 10 месяцев назад

      Why you can do the same just running 2 wire to your control board to get 24v. Only need the wall transformer if your humidifier and furnace is stealing the 24v

    I have a strange set up. I have my gas furnace with my a/c coil in my plenum. Next to that i have a sperate furnace with a water to air exchager for my wood burner. The gas furnace has a return, the radiator takes its air from the basement(no return duct).
    My questions, how do I install it? Would i go to the duct after the 2 meet up? Being as I want to install the power on the radiator fan motor, how would my pressure switch work with no return duct? Lastly, if i mount it after the 2 meet up, could i somehow wire it to run when either of them turn on?

    I never knew that I could cut out the side where the coil is and mount my humidfier.

      If there is nowhere else to do it then it's fine, ensuring to take precautions not to damage the coil inside.

  • @ourlifeinwyoming4654
    @ourlifeinwyoming4654 11 месяцев назад

    Howdy. Ours was installed already in our home. The plastic housing with the water element is on the return plenum and the round pipe enters on the supply, above the evaporator. The humidistat is also located on the return plenum. It seems to be installed backwards. What are your thoughts? Thanks for your time.

    • @codeonemechanical

      They can be installed on either side. Only thing that changes is the tubing going into the pressure switch.

    are Condesate Pumps required/necessary? My humidifier is not far from my sump pump, and the Condensate pump, pumps into the sump pit. The condensate pump is pretty loud, and i'd like to run PVC right from the humidifier drain to the sump... that wouldn't be a problem right?

    • @codeonemechanical
      @codeonemechanical  11 месяцев назад +1

      A condensate pump is not necessary. The location of the equipment in this video has no sump pump or drain tile in the floor so it uses the condensate pump. If the condensate pump already drains into the sump then I would run the humidifier line right into it.

    Is there a mechanical water
    valve or automatic valve on the humidifier? How do you shut the water off in the summer ?

    • @codeonemechanical
      @codeonemechanical  11 месяцев назад +2

      The solenoid valve shuts the water off, the fitting I installed on the blue pex water line also has a shutoff valve that can be shut off when not in use.

    I connected one yellow wire (from aprilair solenoid) to common on my furnace and the other yellow solenoid wire to the humidistat. The other humidistat wire i wired to W1. That didn’t work so I tried W2 and about to try G. Not sure what I’m missing but the humidifier won’t turn on regardless of the stage of heat or placed in W1 or W2. Please help if you can!

    • @codeonemechanical
      @codeonemechanical  11 месяцев назад

      The humidistat may not be set high enough to allow current through or if your humidifier has a pressure switch it may not be seeing a pressure differential.

    • @codeonemechanical

      That's fine, there are many people that do exactly that. It helps with preventing stratification, which means it helps keep the whole house at the same temperature and humidity level.

    how do know what voltage your furnace is inside where you hooked up ? I have a 2021 carrier gas system with ac

    • @codeonemechanical
      @codeonemechanical  Год назад

      There is a transformer installed inside your furnace that steps down the voltage to 24 volts.

  • @dspaller6334
    @dspaller6334 Год назад

    All other demos say to NOT put it where the AC coils are.That is the only place I have a large enough area on the supply side and also what is done in this video....Is that really OK????

    • @codeonemechanical
      @codeonemechanical  Год назад

      Per the instructions it should be placed on the supply side duct, that also prevents water from being pulled into the ductwork if it is installed on the return side duct. You will sometimes run into problems where it wont fit anywhere else and the humidifier pressure switch can be modified to work on a return duct. In the video, that was the best place to install it due to the available duct area. Hope that helps and thank you for watching!
