"Turning the other cheek" in terms of historical significance and the Roman Empire and what it truly meant--- it's just amazing. All this time, I just basically assumed it meant take it and deal with it and ignore them because they're not worthy. But instead, it's a powerful silent statement that not only are we Worthy, we are their equals or better. Simply turning the other cheek while being slapped by a Roman soldier was a profound, strategic, bold and silent declaration of rebellion and declaration that the recipient refused to be degraded. Jesus and His work, never fail to astound me with His depth of meaning to His words. Praise Him! Praise God!
It was moreso .. like Jesus got slapped right .. and he str8 ATE it ! Like that was weak boy ! I thought you been soldier ? Like that's all you got .. which Gave him another reason to slap him .. through simply doing what he did that forced the man hand in the ganwit .. him being JesusChrist.. in oppose to not giving them another reason screaming "SLAP ME ! I turned my cheek twice from a possessed woman who came up behind me, turned me around and kept hitting me in the face until I blocked her fist with a hard cover book, then she lounged to take me down, but I stood my ground after telling her I don't want to fight her several times between blows.. There was no reason to hit me and she did it to show how tough she was to her 16 gang friends who goated her to hurt me badly. To me, they would finish me if she couldn't no matter how much I told them I didn't want to fight, so I felt I was defending myself from 17 hoodlums out to kill me. I defended myself well and she came out pretty well beatened with black eye and bloody nose. I only had a red cheek. When authorities came to stop the fight, all her friends scattered and disappeared. She ended up in the hospital for treatment.
I remember the verse to turn the other cheek, and I did, but two strikes later I realized I had to knock the demon out that possessed her to hurt innocent people like me. I thought they would all gang up and kill me. It would do no good to let her or them get away with it if I let them beat me, and be enboldened to do it again without punishment. My actions that day stopped her from beating others ever again. I believe turning the other cheek can be turned so many times before peace is NOT the solution.

I sort of think that turning the cheek the other direction is just saying that when someone offends or insults you just forgive and walk away. Let the good Lord God deal with them. Amen
Christ was pretty clear about what He meant when He said this was to be done when someone strikes you. He didn't say anything about it meaning getting insulted. When someone punched Him or slapped Him, He didn't starting swinging on ppl. We have His own example to demonstrate exactly what He meant by that. God's ppl are not supposed to be violent for the sake of protecting their own egos. That is not the Christian way.
I have another take that turning the other cheek is to "declare yourself, defiantly, to be your striker's equal." Is there any merit to that? How could it be verified? Thanks so much, and God bless you!

Now Jesus did not mean just literally: "Little ones". He meant ALL "Born Again Christians" any where. Regardless their age. And He also meant: Walk away. Stop talking, never debate and do not use that "Last Mouth"! That many have. Sad, but OH so true!

When the abuser has no idea what turning the other cheek means they not only assault you but are disgusted by their perceived cowardice and will hate you more
