You'll love it. When I am not riding it, I dream of upgrading to, say, a Yamaha T7, but then I get on it and I fall in love all over again. I just took it through the Black Hills. It performed beautifully.
I ended up finding a brand new Pelican 1620 case that was going to be used for portable ventilator but the contract fell through. I paid $128 free shipping on eBay. check it out they are awesome. I ended up using tusk pannier rack from Rocky Mountain ATV I then put knockoff pelican cases on the Tusk wreck for side hard cases. I got them scratch and dent from eylar for $49 I run service calls with it. I have saved 2,000 miles on my 2022 Ford F-150 with this KLR they are awesome
I ended up getting a prevailing lock nut on my front whenever I purchased my 16 tooth sprocket and I went ahead and got a stock sprocket and X-Ring chain from Eagle Mike
I agree. I often dream about upgrading, but then I ride mine and remember just how dialled-in to my height and riding style it is. It's the original tank, but I repainted it with tan Plasti-Dip.
@@symcardnel1741 Thanks! I'll look into this. I just returned from taking it on a backwoods camping trip, where, once again, it proved itself as a bike worthy of consideration.
@@patriotrob7066 This is a bunch of BS that old man mike started to sell his trinkets....stuff breaks sometimes...I have seen them go 80,000 miles without replacing it. Kawasaki knows more about their bikes than anyone else.
...wow, your bike is awesome, would love to see it muscle through the trails. Thank you for sharing Sir and stay safe!
Thanks! I'm hoping to tackle a few trails with it, this summer. You stay safe, as well! Cheers!
Looks amazing 👍
Thanks!
awesome bike! thanks for sharing, Cheers from NB
Thanks! Cheers!
Little surprised you don't have some Highway bars. Nice build!
Nice bike! The klr is my dream bike. Can't wait to get one myself.

@@tobandyck1 Dream bigger and better. Its a ok bike for sure but there are better bikes.
Nice bike!

nice ride ! Is that the ifs larger tank? Or original. Thnx
Thanks! It's the original tank. I did repaint it, though.
Bonjour Canada 😁
Do you have a problem with a loose front sprocket , I have replaced front and back , the front with anew locking ring still is not tight ?
I had to replace my front wheel last year. The speedometer assembly was mangled. But, so far, my sprockets haven't caused problems (knock on wood).

Has that plano box thrown off your balance? Was thinking of putting one on my klr..
Not at all. And I use it much more than I thought I would.
@@tobandyck1 thanks for the info! Nice bike as well
@@travisfarwell2349 Thanks! Good luck with the Plano install. Let me know how it goes.
@@tobandyck1 Will do, also curious did you use an aftermarket mount on top of the stock rack?
I have a 95 , great bikes , kind of slow on Hiway s but built like a tank , is that a plastic gas tank ?

Good Q. He did say prvious tank bag was held down by magnets... and would constantly come off??
@@symcardnel1741 It's the original metal tank. It looks like plastic, though, because I painted it with Plasti-Dip.
Just looking at your fork-tubes at minute 3:14. Are you sure they are at the right position. They come out quite a bit on your bike.
Good question. I'll investigate. Thanks for letting me know!
Good eye! "Nov 20, 2009 - The top of the fork tube should be about 1/16" above the top of the upper triple clamp."

Well, there’s one KLR that ain’t going on single-track.
Have you done the doohicky mod? Being at 46000 miles
Apparently, the previous owner had it done. Here's hoping! Though, I wouldn't mind tackling it myself.
I've been a motorcycle mechanic since the 80s less than 1% of doohickeys break! I've never fixed a klr with a broken one.... just sayin
@@patriotrob7066 my klr doohickey was broken 💯
@@patriotrob7066 once I fixed it the rough idle went away since the motor was balanced correctly
