I often think about how there are so many people missing out on this whole 'Swancore cabal of multiple bands' movement going strong. Like, think about how people talk about how previous decades in America (and the world) had distinct styles and artistic icons. The 90's, 80s, 70s, etc.. Many people feel that those clear-cut decade identities sort of blurred and became less definitive after the early 2000s or so. After the birth of the more user-friendly internet connected everyone. Swancore is making cults out of fans like those big-money icons did back in the day.
Yeah I often think about that too. It's very interesting how past the rise of social media it's been a little harder to define these core genres that we spent so much time identifying. But it's also been interesting to find these bands with crazy cult followings going back decades and suddenly discovering a gold mine of discographies. For example, my journey with swancore began with DGD when I was in high school... every year it's like I uncover a band that is in the same scene that I'd never heard of and just instantly fall in love with. It's such a fun journey of discovery and I'm always glad when I'm able to share it with others. Thanks for your comment. Definitely a cool angle to look at the phenomenon from
