After reading through an incredibly dry and convoluted description of prototypes from The Odin Project reading materials, this video swooped in and just clarified every concept of this topic in seven minutes. Incredible.
In the same exact boat as you friend. Reading all that stuff actually made me a bit angry just because it was all overwritten for no reason. This video was simple, clear and concise
@@Jason06245 I think this is easily their worse topic they tried to cover, they have links to different places that all do the inheritance differently and not cohesive to someone that is trying to understand for the first time.
Thank you so much for this explanation. I have come here from The Odin Project and this has blown all the confusion away that was in the lengthy article.
Man, your example with cars and the verb drive opened up some part in my mind that I did not know existed at all. Thank you so much for putting the time to make this video, hope you get more views!
Brilliant explanation, im following a course on Udemy, and the instructor is challenged by explaining the concept - You are a very clear and concise when explaining, Thanks 🙂
OH MY GODDDDD You are the besttttt. I love your method. Without a doubt, you are one of the best instructors I have ever seen. You are a true MASTER. Thank you so much.
This concept was very difficult for me to understand I watched a lot of video and still have confused but this one is very amazing and very clear finally I have good idea what is prototype 😊👏👏
I might understand some of the basics of prototype. I understand how it helps to set shared properties and functions on the prototype (ObjName. prototype). Since a prototype is an object that another object inherits from, then where does Apple inherit from? When using Apple.prototype = {eat() throw()}, does it inherit from some object named "prototype"? Is Apple.protototype kind of like setting aside a library for Apple? I understand the helpfulness of it. I understand that a prototype is an object another object inherits from. So, I guess my question is where exactly is Apple inheriting from, if it is inheriting at all?
These concepts arent that difficult to understand perhaps if we adopted, "Main or Branch" like github to describe constructor/prototype there would be less confusion to refer to things like creating objects and methods
Odin Project gang, where you at?
Also, thanks for this! Super helpful!
Odin Project gang?...?
@@Avelx Lol This resource was recommended by The Odin Project, so I assumed a lot of people will stumble upon this comment (hence the word 'gang').

It would be much better if you also include practical examples on these types of videos.
