    This is BS the Pak Fa T-50 was called a cheap piece of junk by the countries who were ready to buy the plane until they saw it was cheaply made and completely inferior to the F-22. India,Pakistan,Syria and Iran were extremely disappointed in the construction and performance of the aircraft.

      chris gange In any case, the blow against the F-22 is a substantial step. Gates has been publicly inveighing against the fighter for more than a year, calling it a Cold War relic, noting that it hasn't been used in any of the wars we've fought lately, and noting that our current stock-187 F-22s, which have cost $60 billion to develop, build, and maintain to date-is more than adequate to handle the extremely narrow and unlikely range of threats for which they might be suitable in the future.

    I'm actually quite impressed with Putin. His stance on immigration and effectively combating extremism is worthy of praise. He's done a really good job of creating peace in a once chaotic nation. He's proud of his military and stands behind them 100%. I like him. But there remains a fact that you simply cannot overlook. And that is the wasted remains of Cold War era military hardware. In the total and utter decimation of the USSR came an idea that the population deserves better. Putin understands this better than most and he will never show weakness in military might because he wants everyone to believe and feel the same as he does. I'm not going to tell you that the T-50 is any less of a jet than the F-22. You can do the homework for yourself. It's going to be hard to do because Raptor is already bypassing radar and nobody even knows it. (-; T-50 and J-20 are gen 4.5. They are a close gamble, they fly terrific, but they are not the cutting edge of technology at this time. The whole "red flag" operation and the so called "fails" of F-22 are a ruse. You were looking at tuned down jets flown by great pilots. Why should a country unveil their latest tech, completely eradicate opposition and walk away like they own anybody? It is not good for foreign relations. Don't be fooled. F-22 is not a "dogfighter". Air Superiority can only be achieved by stealth. The type of stealth that gen 4.5 jets don't have.

And all those "brilliantly engineered" Russian air defense systems that Isreal spoofs anytime they like WITH NON STEALTH AIRCRAFT. The ones that Russia has to send a team to try to find out what went wrong this time. Russian junk always gets destroyed in the opening minutes of any conflict with western weapons.

      well i'm very sorry that you can't see the beauty even in terrible things like weapons of war... there are some which are shockingly simple, others which are much much more complex; however, what they have in common are extremely brilliant designers and engineers. i don't think you were being purposely misleading but what you said about Russian (or even old Soviet) inventions and equipment designs is simply inaccurate - i don't mean to sound like a jerk in saying that so i apologize....

    I don't understand the point of this video. We see the T-50 flying sround, some stills of it and stills of the development bureau. How does this mean, as the title of the video states, that the "T-50 is better than the F-22", which it may well be? Show me a fly-off between the two please. I'm no great fan of all the bluster that's been put out by our aerospace teams regarding the F-22 and F-35 but give us more to work with than just this. A couple of points I noticed is that the F-50 is HUGE and therefore there won't be a variant that will be carrier based, unlike the F-22/F-35 and the turkey tail engine exhausts certainly don't make for a stealthy craft. However flawed the F-22 and F-35 might be I look forward to their first engagement with a Russian patron state flying something like the T-50 since stealth engineering and first sight, first kill is the issue here.

    • @TyphoonUSSR
      @TyphoonUSSR  11 лет назад +1

      Why T-50 is better? T-50 has better AESA (AN/APG-77 = 240 km, NIIP AESA> 300 km a 1 m² target). T-50 flies faster. T-50 shoots farther. (F-22 = 120 km., T-50 > 350 km.)

      Mike Miller drones?? you mean hackable drones?? like the hackable ships that America tested? the F22 got cancelled because there were numerous flaws that were sited even 10 years prior to it's cancellation date... I watch numerous congressional hearings on it.. don't try that... you really think drones could stand up to L,S band radars that could see them? even though drones are a real breakthrough manned aircrafts would still be necessary.. and oh well ... other countries are developing drones too... so what's your point.

      Mike Miller you're just trying to over-glorify DARPA.... I've seen the drones... they look sophisticated and all... but to blow this out of the water as if it's tried and proven is just as the f22/f35 was rated as technology that would never be seen by other countries for the next 20-30 years. and to add to that India is developing drones also... Russia also .. the SKAT manta ray... so is China... so let's just all wait and see.

    f22 has already been in production for years even before russian and chinese begun developing their own 5th gen fighters. How does anyone would think that upgrades and development of f22 had stopped after they went to production. For engineers, developing their craft never stop. they only stop when they begin developing a new plane like the 6th gen.

  • @HornetVF103
    @HornetVF103 11 лет назад +3

    I question this aircraft's capabilities. The aircraft clearly has no RAM and relies on shape for stealth. This is identifiable by the panel screws and panel lines. It is about 35% bigger than an F-22 (no small feat) and I would put an F-22 up against this any day of the week. Regarding the F-35, the F-35 would probably be outmatched unless it can get a first look first shoot. Regarding Australia, you just recently took delivery of F/A-18F's to replace F-111's. If you are still flying F-111's then just about anything is a vast improvement in air to air capability. If Australia is looking for high angle of attack and extreme maneuverability then you should consider the Eurofighter Typhoon. The fact is whoever gets first look/first shoot will win a fight 90% of the time.

    • @RisePatriot
      @RisePatriot 11 лет назад +3

      For crying out LOUD, WTF does Australia need fighter jets for? Seems like a big waste of money all around.

    • @SGTthomas0725
      @SGTthomas0725 10 лет назад

      I agree with some of what you said. But, the f35 could actually win a fight with a t50 easily. the T50's radar wouldn't pick up the extremely stealthy f35 and the f35's would, the f35 would fire a missile, the t50's radar would pick that up, but whats the t50 pilot gonna do now? he will probably die..... Second, the f22 is 100000000X more maneuverable than the typhoon, pretty soon the typhoon will be outmatched by everything.....

    • @HornetVF103
      @HornetVF103 10 лет назад

      SGTthomas0725 I would say I agree with you 100%. I just do not know enough about the F-35's capabilities to give an accurate comment. Regarding the Typhoon, I was speaking from the standpoint of a country with a more limited budget and not wanting to spend the money for F-35. I think you would agree that from a Gen 4+ perspective the Typhoon is probably one of the best in the air?

    This is stupid asking who is better when every one can see The Russians 5th generation T-50 is a copy of US 4th generation F22. Any country that needs to copy another nation knows the answer which nation has the better jet. Didnt russian say the F22 sucks and now they made a copy of it, why if f22 sucked so bad, made the Russians make a copy of it? US made its 5th generation the F35, so does that mean the Russians 6th generastion going to look alot like the F35? If so, The chinese is ahead of Russian on that department. 5th generations should be compared to other 5th generations - So this title should be which is better the T-50 or the F35? Also you have to ask not the jets it self because you can have the best jet with missiles that sucks compare to your enemy.. the new generation weapons and tracking/distance of these aircraft are going to have? That is going to be a bigger secret the public is not going to know for awhile. Also you have to also counter Drones that are going to be in the picture. You can make 100's of unmann drones against this T-50 and the Drones are smaller and alot stealthier and can carry more weapons.. does it matter if you shoot down a drone or hack one or two? you still have to face the rest and still get your pilots killed, with 0 life lost on the other side.
    Russians going to say the new F35 sucks like they did to the F22 and made copy of it and see how this new generation craft going to turn out not by these video's but on the battlefield by selling them to other nations. They are also going to say the drones have no factor in this, keep telling your self that on the battlefield with drones, new battleships, laser, robots, new warhead missiles, decoys (check that out) and stealth fighters.

    It's a fantastic aircraft for sure, but it's under the hood that counts. It's the engines, avionics, weapons and the stealth is a big factor. The SU-50 would be a hand full for an F-15 but a F-22 would be able to deal with it with little problem. Think about what you've been told about the F-22 and just imagine what you haven't been told. The F-22 is a beast!

    The AESA-N050-Radar is the AESA radar monted on the Russian Sukhoi PAK-FA.
    NIIP has stated that the Radar have a detection range of 350 km and >400 km against a 2.5 m² target, thus, the range against a 1 m² target is 260-300 km. The radar will be all in all comparable to the APG-77 of the F-22, but with best jamming and LPI capabilities.
    The AN/APG-77 is the AESA radar monted on the F-22 Raptor it has about 2300 transmit/receive moduls and it´s able to track a 1 square meter target at 240 km.

    Does seem like a capable plane. The question is whether or not they can afford it in meaningful numbers and produce it quickly enough to be up-to-date. +Charles Nelson The F22 is EXTREMELY heavy for a jet fighter. Also, it was never designed for dodge-fighting. In a test the F22 lost against the Typhoon, which is an air superiority fighter. The Typhoon out-turned the F22 the entire time.
      Another big problem of the F22 is the strong EM emission, which makes it easy to spot for passive radar systems.
      The F22 is an outdated, overly complex machine. The USA should have improved their F14 and F15, which were and are great jets.

    What's never discussed here is the fact there was no export model of the F22. Why? Well, it had too much proprietary tech to dumb down for export. In 2014, maneuverability is not worth as much as it was 20 yrs ago. Weapon load isn't too important. Stealth, EW, and long range kills are key. The F22 kills you before you know it's there. Nothing else matters....

    once the ATF program ended, Russia started its own program to counter the F-22 which resulted in the MiG-1.44 but that was deemed to costly, Sukhoi offered the Su-47 but was also turned down, however out of the two, they chose Sukhoi to develop total new design in 2002, nearly 8 years later the PAK FA after a very troubled development history took off, Now the killer for the PAK FA its design to be a stealth multirole whereas the F-22 is a stealth air superiorty

    when i said cut on all it's radars i meant from point a to point b with out locating. it would give away the pak's location. something no pilot would ever really do which is one of the things makes stealth a pain. you have to answer 1 question where to look. a f-22 rwr allows it to fly blind evading radar meaning the only realistic form of detection is ir but f-22 also has ir reduction. so in all honesty the advanced rwr incorperatd in to f-22 design allows it to do some sneaky stuff.

    I don't know about the statement of F-22 is bad rather than Su-50 , because yet this stealth jet not even operational when the F-22 is already operating a decade , means Americans are on to something new when the russians still tests they're new jet . it reminds me about Intel and AMD story , that AMD could not breach it's walls and reaching new gaming processors making them better and faster like Intel does today , and again it's becuase of the budget problems as the USSR and as AMD .

    Put some things straight:
    1.) The F-22 was cancelled because it is too expensive for its role. USA can easily get air superiority against its potential enemies (Russia not seen as a potential enemy until just now) with it's current equipment.
    F-22 has had software glitches, air supply glitches and is really expensive to maintain. The glitches have been worked out, but the price is still high.
    In operation Red Flag, the F-22 competed against German, Australian, England and Pakistani Air Forces amongst others. And although it was expensive to fly and maintain, only one was able to be 'killed'. This was even after sending one F-22 up against 22 other aircraft (the F-22 was aloud to have unlimited ammunition).
    Australia and English Air Forces have expressed high interest in purchasing the F-22, but the USA parliament has banned Lockheed from exporting the aircraft. Not disappointing second rate air forces.
    In short, cost aside, there is no Air Superiority Fighter that can rival the F-22 whatsoever.
    And I'm not American.

      Finally somebody who is capable of researching and writing with a brain on RUclips. I agree. What gets me is when people call ALL Russian planes "junk" when they clearly are not. For example, how many times have you seen people post that the SU-27 is garbage? If so, how is it that it's the ONLY foreign built aircraft that was able to defeat the F-15 in WORLD history? Granted, it was only a mock combat out of Oceana, Virginia, but the SU-27 defeated the F-15, which has had 133 aerial engagements and has NEVER been lost in one. That, in MY book, anyway, makes the SU-27 pretty damned good! But, people who call a "lemon" an "apple" just because the "lemon" is designed and built in their country is just too funny. I, OTOH, call a "lemon" a "lemon" no matter where it's designed and built. Well said, Zane.

    From what I can see of the Pak-Fa t50 , it seems to be a “low” observable rather than a true stealth aircraft. I can see many of the screws and rivets that were used to build the aircraft and the engine parts sticking out the back would make it glow in the infrared spectrum. The screws and rivets catch radar beams and give a larger return. Every little thing counts. I was in the Air Force and have some basic understanding of aircraft and stealth principles. I think that this is a great flying aircraft but lacks some of the refinements of the American programs.
