These highlights of the makers and what they actually achieve and how they progress are almost like a fun Open University source on yarn and the industry! This is brilliant. I'm always really interested to hear more about how people enter the yarn/design/sheep farming industry, where they find opportunities, how podcasts are made, their process and what skills they find useful to get there.
What you said to Norah was so true, hearing her talk about the designs really makes you want to knit them even more. So inspired. & the views of Wales were really stunning, such beautiful videography. Thank you Andrew and Andrea. And Madeline.
I'm always satisfied when I watch you folks. I know you will deliver great content, teach me something new, and inspire me to do something I may not have ever considered. Wishing you good health, wealth, and happiness in the new year.
Thanks to Pom Pom, and Fruity Knitting for the discounts so excited to get my copy. Love the style of knows and the feel of the magazine. It's new to me, I never knew it existed before Fruity Knitting featured it. Love being a patron for Fruity Knitting. Thank you.
The cover sweater reminds me of Elvish armour in the Lord of the Rings movies. Just love the designs in this magazine. I recently discovered your program and am enjoying it tremendously as I knit along as I watch. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.
I was so excited to see the title of this episode because I bought this issue of Pom Pom yesterday! It was actually the first issue of Pom Pom I've ever bought. I've looked through a few issues before without buying but I was hooked by Norah Gaughan's name and design on the cover of this issue. I'm a fan of hers and have several of her Berroco patterns. Your interviews with Meghan Fernandes and Norah are so informative and interesting. Thank you!
Thank you for another lovely episode. Love Norah Gaughan and her cables. Have knit two of her patterns and have three more in line. Happy New Year to you both and Madeline.
I always think "thats the best episode yet" until I see the next one which is even better! This is wonderful viewing and always so informative. So glad you are making this podcast and a huge thankyou. Now Im going to take advantage of some of those amazing discounts :)
Thank you Andrea, Andrew and Pom Pom. I got the magazine on Christmas Eve and this is one of their most dramatic designs. Love the photography and I thoroughly enjoy being a patron, I really enjoy the podcasts and the various guests you have. It is greatly appreciated. Thank you for all you hard work. Wishing you Happy New Year.
Another superlative podcast💫 Thank you, Fruity Knitting💐 Andrea, you are stunning & delightful!..as a knitter, as a podcaster hostess, as a musician... and to boot you are a stellar interviewer✨ 🌬A real breath of charming, intelligent & thoughtful fresh air🌿 Soon yours will be the first (and likely only)Patreon channel I will support. Hugs to you and your lovely family🕊
Once again beautiful podcast...i love to see all the mountains. I know i can't travel all over the world but thank you so much for taking me there with your podcast...😍
Hi Maxine. Like so many things, there is a surprising amount of work involved in updating the credits. One problem is that some people have either their surname or their e-mail address in the "First Name" field, so we have to be careful that we don't reveal any private information. Anyway, I took that on as a holiday task, so it's now up to date and a little more automated. Thanks for your support! A + A.
Fruity Knitting Also want to say that I was in Australia and NZ a few months ago and our knitting group went to Tarndie where the Polwarth sheep are. I said I knew about them from Fruity Knitting. 😊
Thank you for yet another fantastic podcast! When I received my patron email with my discount (Thanks!) for PomPom I immediately ordered this fantastic issue. I’ve seen the cover on so many podcasts and Instagram posts I knew it was worth the splurge! Now seeing them live on your program ( and on my digital version! ) I cannot wait to have the print magazine when it arrives. They are such beautiful designs ! I also loved the new designer you featured and I will be checking her patterns out on Ravelry, she lives just over in the next state .
I think this is my 4th "vacation" with you in Snowdonia :-) I loved the episode, excellent as always. I am sitting here now nursing very painful tendonitis in my left elbow - no knitting for several months - but that didn't stop me from purchasing PomPom and a pattern from Norah. Thank goodness I can still point and click. Happy New Year !!
Konnie - very sorry to hear that you are suffering from tendonitis. Be good and take the time to recover. We are very pleased to be providing some knitting support for you in this difficult time! A + A.
Thank you very much for another excellent episode! I enjoyed this very much and inspired me to keep knitting and why I love knitting. I love all the knits you all are wearing. Andrea, I'm looking forward to see your finished project! I just became a patron and it was exciting to see my name on the list.
Thank you for all the hard work you did last year creating this podcast! I hope you had an amazing holiday! I look forward to seeing what this year will bring on here! Wishing all of you an amazing year to come!
I finally had the time to watch this episode and love it so much Andrea ! Each piece in this PomPom issue is gorgeous and of course the Sejourner Shawl by Xandy Peters in our Baby Yak | Silk is stunning ! I could not figure out why on the same day I had few orders for the Sejourner Kit on our website, until a friend told me about your episode that I had not yet watched 💕 So thankful to you, Meghan and Norah.
I must congratulate Jack on his stalwart defense of the three of you from that drone! Good dog, Jack. And of course the rest of the episode was visually stunning, mind expanding and inspiring, too. Well done and thank you!
Thank you for this awesome episode and congratulations to the winners . I'm very happy for Yvonne (WallyOne on Ravelry) which is a great knitter and designer. Right now I'm knitting her design FANTOMAS which is a men's garment. It is such a detailed pattern that even beginners should be able to follow. Have a good year 2019 everyone!
Lovely to see you on the little bench again. I didn't realise there would be another podcast so soon after the holidays so thank you! My Christmas presents were heavily Fruity Knitting influenced hehe. Yay. Pom Pom magazine looks so stylish (that cable jumper is looking lovely so far Andrea!) , love a bit of Victoriana! I love the story of Beddgelert (beth-gel-ert). Snowdonia is so gorgeous - so many 🐑 + trees! Can't wait for more Meet the Shepherd. All in all, a lovely return to the year - welcome back! ♥
Such a beautiful location to holiday in ! Thank you for another interesting podcast, as a new Patron I am just discovering the discounts and perks. Enjoy the rest of your holidays and Happy New Year, all the best for 2019 !
Thank y’all so much for a great podcast! I started watching a few days ago♥️ I am watching from the beginning. I’m on episode 5 it’s so much fun☺️ to watch and knit along with you!
Great episode. A word of encouragement, I knit ‘Geiger’, one of Norah’s Brooklyn Tweed designs and got the same puckering as you are seeing. It blocked out perfectly.
Absolutely loved this episode, the newest pom pom issue is gorgeous. Madeleine and I are almost the same age and have almost the same taste in knitting patterns - Bressay is my favorite design from Shetland! Also great as a Filipino to hear of another knitter from the Philippines :)
Love seeing FOUR members of your family! Happy New Year! I'll try to become a patron this year....always a professional and informational yet heartwarming presentation! Best RUclips podcast! Thank You!
Another great episode, and that scenery! Now feeling the urge to visit Wales, haven’t been there for years and am kicking myself! Did wonder about Meghan’s sweater - do you know if its handknit and if there’s a pattern?! X
I do try to ask designers their tips for designing for the fuller figure. There is not a whole episode dedicated to this topic but there has been quite a lot of info within various interviews. In our Live event with Deborah Newton, Deborah talks about fitting in a lot of detail. Our interview with Ysolda covers the topic and in an upcoming interview the topic will be addressed as well. Hopefully you will have your questions covered.
@@FruityKnitting It was the shot of the garments that were hanging ready to be shot in the garage, I don't think they ended up using it in the magazine?
Hmm, that story about the last minute model explains why some of the sweaters don't look like they were meant for the model. However, the cover image is fabulous!
Andrea, I think the front of the sweater you are currently knitting shows puckering in the photo of it just before the interview. Maybe aggressively blocking won't be the answer. I wonder if just knitting looser over that place would help.
Brilliant extreme knitting footage! What a glorious place to spend your holiday!
Knit-worthy! I love it!! All this happened years ago but even now it’s delightful. Thanks. Where are you here in 2023?
Just love the scenery on your hike, and perfect music too!
Love all of the guests also.

Living on the edge with just-in-time knitting is going to be my new motto and way of life! :) Thanks for a lovely episode!

Thank you for all the hard work you did last year creating this podcast! I hope you had an amazing holiday! I look forward to seeing what this year will bring on here! Wishing all of you an amazing year to come!

I had to smile when Jack was barking at the drone!
Me, too! It was a very human moment in a surreal, beautiful landscape (and hosts!) :)
Happy New Year to all of you! Another great episode (as usual). It was so interesting to see the "behind the scenes" for the PomPom magazine issue.
Very interesting ........always great to learn new things
Zips is cables is a win win 🏆
Which yarn did you order for Pom-Pom sweater?
Love seeing FOUR members of your family! Happy New Year! I'll try to become a patron this year....always a professional and informational yet heartwarming presentation! Best RUclips podcast! Thank You!

Magnifique !!! I love it! I think I will do this sweater too!😇 Happy new year for you all😙💞💞💞
Frohes Neues Jahr und ich freue mich auf weitere schöne Videos mit Euch LG AUS DEUTSCHLAND
Such a lovely place. Too bad the pub is closed. Would think that would be a very cozy place this time of year or any time really.
Another great episode, and that scenery! Now feeling the urge to visit Wales, haven’t been there for years and am kicking myself! Did wonder about Meghan’s sweater - do you know if its handknit and if there’s a pattern?! X
The design will be coming out in the next edition of Pom Pom
Fruity Knitting thanks for that x
Awesome episode ! Thank you ! It would be nice if, one day, you would interview Cheryl Brunette ...
Great episode, thank you... Will we ever see a segment on the fuller figure?
I do try to ask designers their tips for designing for the fuller figure. There is not a whole episode dedicated to this topic but there has been quite a lot of info within various interviews. Ha! How interesting, my grandmother's birthday is New Year's Eve. 99 years young!
Happy birthday to your mother.
Love this episode. Who is the soprano soloist in the closing segment?
Most assuredly, that’s Andrea.
Andrea!
I want Norah Gaughan's needle organizer. Where did she get that?
I enjoyed your podcast and your daughter is beautiful
I love what you do. Unfortunately, I have only just found you and am very much looking forward to catching up!
Does anyone know the name of the dark green pullover behind Norah ?
I am very interested in making the cable sweater your husband is wearing. Which pattern is that?
Corrections are on the pompon website.
During the interview with Pom Pom, I was DYING over that pale pink sweater with the little crosses all over it, do you know who that pattern is by?
Hi Ashley. Not sure which garment you're referring to. Is it from the Pom Pom magazine??
@@FruityKnitting It was the shot of the garments that were hanging ready to be shot in the garage, I don't think they ended up using it in the magazine?
If you are interested in the pronunciation of Boadicea, it is Bow-dis-EE-a.😀
Thank you!
Thank you!!
Hmm, that story about the last minute model explains why some of the sweaters don't look like they were meant for the model. However, the cover image is fabulous!
re. colourful shoes: check out Deerberg in Germany 😉
Noted - vielen Dank!
What sweater design is Meghan wearing in this interview
We've added the information that we have to the program notes: fruityknitting.com/2019/01/08/pom-pom-norah-gaughan/
Andrea, I think the front of the sweater you are currently knitting shows puckering in the photo of it just before the interview. Maybe aggressively blocking won't be the answer. I wonder if just knitting looser over that place would help.
Did you notice, the magazine photo of the same sweater also shows a little puckering?

So many “ummmm’s” from the PomPom owner. Rather distracting. Gorgeous patterns though.....
Norah Gaughan's design reminds me of a H R. Giger design but in a good way, not being so much a fan of his work!
