2019 discovery: people hate videos that claim to be educational yet seem to be written in large part by their sponsor. Wait nevermind, we've known people hate infomercials for a long time.
It's a common youtube style. There's often self imposed limits, like the vlogbrothers 4 minute limit, but that's not universal. For the most part, there's just a love for fast paced speech in these videos. Mental Floss picked it up from John Green (who probably got it from Ze Frank). Early CGP Grey videos did the same.
It seems that the audio mix on these videos has been off lately. They are way more quiet that the other videos I watch, and I can hardly hear the intro music. Anyone else notice this?
I'm not sure if it's a matter of going back so much as being aware of what to look for and constructing ever-more-accurate models based on the available evidence. Dilong paradoxus was the first member of the tyrannosaurus family found with feathers, and since then much larger members of the family have been ID'ed with feathers. When we went to AMNH to see their T-rex exhibit earlier this year, they had feathers on both the juvenile and adult models (but, to my knowledge, no T. rex has been found w/ feathers).
It was a very similar format... This is just slightly more formalized and people seem to struggle with any host that's not Hank or John. She also pulled back the mania a little.
I like her so much! She's so cute and I love the way she talks! I'm watching John right now cause of Auto play and he just seems disheveled to me.. his hair is wacky and his voice is not attractive to me at all..

Dread Pirate Roberts when someone uses the French units of measure, that were forced down the throats of the Brits (who subsequently caved to the French), to put a man on the moon, then we can have the discussion of the need for a system of measurements where the entirety of one’s math skills is moving a decimal left and right.
We wanted to talk about Sue, but Carl threatened to "shank us with a Megalodon tooth"-apparently there's some kind of turf war between AMNH and the Field Museum. (ok, just in case I completely made that up, here's a Sue fact: her $8.4 million skeleton was the highest price ever paid for a fossil, and the Field Museum's winning bid included contributions from the McDonald’s Corporation and Walt Disney World Resort. Photos of Sue riding Space Mountain are currently unavailable to the public.)

Would definitely watch a Space Jam remake but with prehistoric birds instead of cartoon characters.
Gonna honestly say this is a move in the right direction. The real life demo is cool and it isn't sponsored by Discover in a super obnoxious way.

So prehistoric birds have feathers pressed on fossils, then will researchers go back to excavation place and search pressed T-rexes scales
