As a Sporting fan, we are so in love with Viktor Gyokeres that we do not want to sell him, not even for 100 million euros. So you have an idea, even the rival club fans love him and wish he played for them, he is a BEAST!
The 20 or so million doesnt go to Gyokeres, it goes to the club that they bought him from. Players get paid in yearly salaries while the clubs get the transfer fees.
You should react Didier Drogbas story by the same guy. Even crazier late bloomer than Gyökeres and he even was named to top 100 influential people in 2010 for what he did for his country.
Football is such a big sport and pretty much every country has multiple divisions that have promotion and relegation so there's just so much talent out there, it's easy for an elite player to go under the radar, Drogba for example
in my opinion football is the best sport in finding hidden talents. the thing is if you are good enough you will eventually rise to an area of prominence like gyokeres it took him till 24/25 to finally start to get noticed but the important thing is that hes now getting noticed . having an open talent acquisition system is where football has the advantage to sports leagues like nba and nfl. its a meritocracy
People excel at different times and rates. Some people become relaxed in their own comfort zone and others feel they haven’t had it as “easy” so they’ve got more hunger. A lot of aspects come into these things
theres so many reasons why so many good players go unnoticed is bc it can be the player is playing out his position the tactic doesnt fit the player or even the role the manager has for the player doesnt fit his playstyle
He met Haaland and City in the cajmpions league the other day. Guess what happend? Bro scored a hattrick with Sporting against a CITYSIDE. So no need to look out for him, he will pop up on your phone scoring against your favorite team anyway.
It's difficult for scouts ; even if it becomes easier with everybody showing their kid's highlights on internet ; because as Gyokeres, he was, not only in a lower league, but not even in the first division, many misses players because they're focused on the top division but some huge talents may be playing in a 3rd division at 16 yo Also some are "invisible" to big clubs because of their expectations and scouting in the best countries like Brazil, France, Germany, England, ... but talent can come from anywhere in the world, and because of having so many different leagues on different levels, which each their "style of football", it's harder to determine if that player could make it in this or that specific league
Can yall react to some arsenal current players saka, saliba and odegard are pretty decent and they beat this team 5 to 1 on Tuesday. Happy Thanksgiving
Don't be fooled, he is just a small games merchant he hasn't put up any numbers against World Class teams. His first test was Arsenal like 3 days ago and he ghosted like a mf. Players like him and Haaland tend to get overrated because of highlights gassing then tf up. But he's not all that fr fr.
its hard to spot the next generational talent in football for many reasons the main is that football is played all over the world making the picking pool much larger. you would think that this makes it easier but its the opposite effect where all these professional players growing up all look like generational talent playing against their age group and the mass majority of people that dont make it as pro. To fully see a world class player you have to see them against world class player and for most that doesnt come until you make it as a pro. it comes down to being in the right place at the right time for most of these top talet players. Football isnt like basketball where all the best players play in the aau tornaments and you're seeing these same guys who make it to the nba playing with one another since elementary school.

Coventry is my local team- he was built here by coventry's recently sacked manager, Mark Robins and started to really pop off in portugal.
He was truly invisible the day before yesterday 💀😂
The fact they’ve never reacted to Saka is crazy
Yesterday didn’t change a thing
God forbid a player has one bad game
@lllllllll772 With a new coach that's still figuring out how to utilize him correctly
