Saw the clip and my first thought was "This guy needed serious therapy years ago" as it's the kind of rage you see in people who lack the tools to manage their thoughts a feelings when they are stressed out. If what you are saying is true then he probably needed it from childhood. Some seriously horrible stuff going on in this guys head to do this kind of thing. What is it about this conflict that makes people physically unable to adopt a nuanced position? Hamas' attack was fucking horrendous. The Israeli treatment of Palestinians for decades now, and their collective punishment of the Palestinian people after the attacks, is also an atrocity. I'm with Dave Chappelle here - both are atrocious and should be condemned.
Pam, agreeing with you, and I do not understand why this is such a difficult position for people to accept. If I say that I condemn the Israeli government for their decades, long atrocious treatment of Palestinian people, I’m a terrible person to some people and I don’t understand the suffering of Palestinians. If I say that what hamas did was wrong even though I can understand the frustration of the Palestinian people, then I’m not standing up for the Palestinians, and I’m no better than somebody who would condemn the genocide of indigenous people or native Americans. It’s literally a lose lose because that’s exactly what the situation is. It’s a lose lose for the people in Israel and Palestine, and it’s a lose, lose for those of us whosee that both ruling groups are in the wrong, and that the fighting should stop for the sake of civilians.
Feeling for anyone with ADHD in a pharmacy desert. There have already been massive drug shortage issues for a couple of years, and scheduled drugs are required to be picked up in person. Hate to see another huge barrier put up for people who are trying to treat a disorder that literally limits their executive function already.
In Hungary Ritalin is the most controlled drug and it’s near impossible to get diagnosed with ADHD in English by specialists (as required to get meds from specialist doctors only). I have ADHD but wasn’t diagnosed by a specialist only by a psychiatrist and I can’t get meds. It’s been a constant struggle to survive. I hate it here. Worst part is when I go to get meds I need a specialized paper with the address of the pharmacy with my ID and must continuously go to the same pharmacy every time. Like, my basic needs to function shouldn’t be this fucking hard. It’s like they’re trying to make me miserable.
I have ADHD, but I don't live in a pharmacy desert. I still can't get access because public health won't provide. Or if they do, they require various tests, and appointments, and screenings, and so many things that are very ADHD incompatible.
I feel you guys, I knew I had ADHD for years but wasn't able to get Medication until recently. By that time I got my meds I developed OCDs which didn't get better even after taking meds. I really hate that people don't understand ADHD and it's effect on People who have it.
I attended the Dave Chapelle show last week at TD Garden. Iirc he started off by condemning companies asking for the names of the Harvard students who signed that letter, but he did mention that he believed they did it to soon. This lead to a variety of different responses from the crowd, some shouting “Free Palestine” and another shouting “Shut the Fuck Up”. Understandably Dave responded angrily to the heckler who told him to stfu, and cussed him out. Most of his 10 min speech was how he was ultimately saddened by the loss of innocent life and how both groups of people view each other as monsters. I may not have agreed with all that he said, but it’s his show and platform so he has the right to say what he wants. Plus paying to go to a Dave Chapelle show that’s advertised as being off-limits and controversial and then getting upset when he says something that offends you is almost poetic.
I highly doubt Taylor Swift knew about the allegations against that dude. We can’t all stay up to date with all the news at all times. How many people have we interacted with who have allegations against them? How many have you served at your job? Why is the brother of this man held accountable for brining his brother out in public?
So true, I was having a wonderful conversation with a lady I met while riding the bus until she said she was a registers sex offender. I ran a buddy of mine to work for 3 weeks until I found out he had attacked his wife with a blade. We don't always have time to vet people we meet walking the street or at a game.
@@SigFigNewton this issue is much larger than “two people watched a football game in the same room”. I wish that, as a woman, I could “learn to care less” about potential SA’ers in my city getting no repercussions because of their last name, but here we are. 🤷🏼♀️
I am a pharmacy technician who started working at CVS and thankfully no longer works there. I am completely unsurprised and am happy to see this getting addressed. The whole industry itself has gone through a nightmare experience thanks to the pandemic as the executives of retail pharmacies realized how to cut corners and get away with understaffing the stores with as few techs/pharmacists as possible. Forced overtime is expected. It should take bare minimum four or five techs to run all pharmacy responsibilities, but that number is often reduced to two or three if the pharmacy is lucky. It's gotten so bad there are cases of pharmacists literally dying on duty because they are unable to leave the store without another pharmacist to replace them. This situation has been a nightmare and it's going to get worse as these big corporations are finally learning their "cost-saving measures" are catching up to them, but in the end, its just going to be the average person feeling the cost. Thanks for talking about this Phil; I hope more attention can be brought onto this and hope and some big changes can be made to the industry.
CVS keeps withholding my medication, ven though I have my dr calling them multiple times a day to clear it. I hate them so much, I'm trying to find an alternative
I remember having to run around the entire pharmacy juggling the drive-thru, front, and filling at the same time since the only other person working was the pharmacist. I really hope techs and pharmacists get better working conditions no matter what location they're at, but especially the smaller ones in densely populated areas.
I came from Walgreens and was made to work alone with one pharmacist as a certified tech with no training whatsoever, 12 hour shifts during COVID so understaffed we couldn’t even use the bathroom and adjacent to an emergency room. One pharmacist would sleep in the pharmacy regularly because he was so behind every day. Solidarity across industries is pivotal. I was making $10 an hour putting my life and health on the line to be told COVID wasn’t real by our store manager. I nearly died when I caught it and have permanent damage.
The Republican party has been splintering for some time, and everything with the House Speaker just goes to show how hamstrung we are by our two-party system.
Yeah we really have like 3 or 4 parties. You have the Uniparty, Leftists, Liberals and Republicans. With none of them wanting or knowing how to break up this two party nonsense.
What makes me crazy is that for most of our country's history we have not had a two-party system. Yes, often we would see two strong parties, but those parties would split, decline, rebrand, rename, deal strong third parties, etc. It has only been in the last century that the two we have today have cemented themselves into place by giving themselves advantages over others in the laws, leaving us with politicians trying to squeeze into one or the other to get into politics at all and the ever worsening polarization between them as they focus on each other over their constituents.
@@Armorlord04 The problem runs far deeper than that. Because we, the people, have the power to fix it. But for as much as we bitch and moan about the system, and as much as we all know what it takes to fix it, when the times comes, very few step up. The people of this nation are too afraid to put a stop to the madness. They would rather risk violence toward each other, than risk fixing a broken government.
@@coppercorn *Very few are allowed to step up. Both parties gatekeep their private clubs, and forging your own way through or around them takes a freedom of time/money that regular people increacingly can't afford. (Honestly, I'd like to see that party option removed from ballots entirely.)
@@Armorlord04 "for most of our country's history, we have not had a two-party system" -- the Whigs collapsed in ~1850, and the main struggle since has been Republican v Democratic; that definitely counts as 'most,' friend. The video of the road rage incident was on Instagram and people were saying they would do the same thing, I think it's terrifying that there isn't a mental health test for getting a drivers license or a least a freaking truck?? Dude started screaming like a child and then drove straight through blockades, simply because it bothered him, traffic was still moving forward and it was just because he got angry.
It would be difficult to enforce considering we can't even get testing for senior citizens. (which we could eliminate a lot of seniors insisting on driving if we had accessible and extensive public transport, but will never happen). However, once you've been shown to have severe road rage? You should be black listed from driving just like a DUI. Have your license revoked for years, and just like a DUI, you would have to prove you were taking steps to correct yourself. Anger management classes and/or anti-anxiety medications to have it reinstated.

If a man is willing to risk the lives of women, children, elderly, hell EVERYONE just because he's a little inconvenienced by a parade, he's certainly the type to demand and force someone to satisfy his disgusting whims.
man, the backlash against taylor swift for that jackson mahomes thing just goes to show you how chronically online some people are. they really think that just because they spend 12 hours a day on twitter absorbing every single news story that gets written, everyone else must also know about how the little brother of a famous football player was charged with sexual battery 8 months ago.
My thoughts exactly! Why would she even know who he is? I follow football and didn't know about him. With how strong Taylor feels about abuse and treatment of all people, she would not have engaged with him but kept it civil since all of the attention around and issues people have with her attending football games.
Both the Chappelle and Swift stories make me question what people have going on their lives that this is the most important thing they have to be worried about.
Honestly! Especially with the Swift story imo. Most people will never know anyone involved, yet feel it necessary to be involved in what they see as an issue.
Problems That Exist Around the World That Truly Effect Life as We Know It: Fans of Taylor Swift: But I don't care about the world or some other country or RUclips I wanna know if Taylor Swift is getting married or not?! Love you Tay-Tay!
This whole situation with Jacksfilms just show how much power creators have. Jack was creating a movement, showing that you can control YOUR content, and RUclips and Sniperwolf silenced him. They were scared of him. Theres too much money in stealing people's content, and RUclips doesn't want this to change.
To be fair it's also against RUclips TOS to make a channel devoted to harassing a single person and then celebrating whenever her videos were being hate mobbed. RUclips just don't give two shits as long as they are making the moolah.
seeing people be like “i can’t believe he was allowed near taylor!” when there were multiple other women and even children in there is.. odd. why are you only outraged he was near taylor lmao, like those other women were just as vulnerable
Especially weird considering that if he tried anything with Taylor he would be absolutely torn to shreds by angry fans and high powered lawyers representing an extremely influential and rich person with a massive following. If he attacked one of the others, they'd just be a victim, and no one would really care.
The other women in the box were Jackson’s mom, sister, and sister in law. (And niece). There could have been others that I didn’t see based on the camera angles, but Taylor was the only non-related female that I could see. So that might be the reason why the focus wasn’t on the other women in the booth. Jackson doesn’t seem to be THAT level of creep.
I would honestly be surprised if Taylor Swift knew about Jackson Mahomes legal troubles. He's a blip on the cultural radar only because of his brother. You don't get as famous as Swift does by keeping up with failed TikTokers. I'm sure she'll hear about it now, but so long as he's allowed at the games, she can't exactly avoid him *shrug* It sucks, he should be in prison, but what can ya do?
Yeah, a lot of the comments highlighted seem to be along the lines of "As an advocate for people who have suffered from SA, Taylor Swift should be assumed to know the face of every person with an allegation against them"
Since when do we live in a world where you are accused of a crime, you are now not allowed to go to a football game with your family? I must be on another planet. What in the actual hell are these people talking about. Just because you're in a VIP box with someone who has been accused or even convicted of a crime does not suddenly make you an advocate for their crime. WTF.
Yeah, I gotta agree. But also, who’s to say that the man didn’t grow as a person and learn from his screw ups, right? I believe everyone deserves a second chance on past mistakes.
Road rage is honestly really scary and it’s why I don’t like driving alone at night, because if you make a mistake that even minorly inconveniences another driver, it feels like you need to pray for them to turn at some point before you need to turn, and the guy at the beginning of this video further cements that fear
I had a guy almost run me off the road last year. I turned onto a side street because I had NOWHERE ELSE TO GO, clipped a light pole and ruined my rear passenger door, but… no way was I going to confront this guy alone at night on an infrequently travelled road. I took the L as a W and am just thankful I’m okay. I didn’t drive for about a week after that.
The threat to international students just shows how free speech isn’t really free speech for all. I’m a immigrant who lived here since a toddler and becoming a citizen is a lot of work but the amount of times I’ve been threatened with deportation during the process is crazy.
Free speech exists until a man with a badge and a gun tells you otherwise. Simple truth. Politicians care about free speech as long as it's THEIR speech. Anything else needs to be stamped out. Sorry to hear you went through some bullshit.
I see it more as not wanting terrorist supporters in our country. What value does an international student bring to the US if they support the massacre of 1000 civilians because they hate jews?
I'm encountering similar issues related to "free speech" because I'm queer. People whine about free speech when I criticize them for dehumanizing me or my friends, it's so dumb
Fear-mongering. They don’t care about Jews and Israel, they just want to maintain that relationship, and they know Americans showing support for Israel will look bad to their buddies oversees. I was watching the segment about Taylor Swift celebrating a touch down with a creep with my wife and neither of us had ever heard them. We were surprised this was even a controversy. She made the point that people who are terminally online tend to think everyone should know all the creeps that they know about, but no one in the world can possibly know everyone’s misdeeds. Like how can these people expect Taylor Swift, one of the most popular and hardest working women in the world, to know that some random dude sitting next to them is a creep? Just unreasonable.
I don’t think it’s unreasonable for Taylor to know who Jackson Mahomes is at this point. She is dating Travis. Pat is Travis’ bestie. They spend a lot of time together. Taylor has been spending a lot of time with Pat’s wife. After all the time she has spent here in KC and with the Mahomes in the last 6 weeks, I’d be more surprised that she didn’t know who Jackson was.
Jesus! I can't imagine living everyday life under the level of scrutiny that Taylor S. does. Maybe she's just having a fun moment with people she met that she doesn't really know on a deep level. Does everyone run a background check on every person they interact with? I hope she doesn't issue a statement or explain herself. These people are nuts and weirdly entitled to an explanation about everyone she associates with. She's not your friend, she's not your daughter, she doesn't owe you anything. Move on, weirdos.
thank you! it's so weird this is even a story in the first place. Not the face that Philly D is covering it, but that so many people care about it that it's become such an issue
Right. Like, I live in Kansas City and feel like I pay attention to the news decently and regularly, and I didn't even know Patrick Mahomes had a brother.
@@DecusMoon really? I mean i agree with the original comment completely, but kinda shocked someone in KC wouldnt now Pat has a brothter unless theyre not a football fan at all
The Taylor Swift story makes me roll my eyes so hard. I'm going to take a wild guess and say she, nor anyone else, runs a thorough background check on everyone she's in the same room with. As a swiftie myself, I think the standards that are placed on her by her own fans are unreachable at this point.
It's kinda hilarious to imagine a CIA-level horde of stealthy spies solely serving as Swift's PR firm, obsessively scanning everyone in her vicinity for any possible sins in their lifetimes.
Twitter is filled with sanctimonious couch potatoes. Potatoes who themselves of course never have and never will do anything wrong and do background check everybody in their vicinity and if needed call them out on their mistakes constantly instead of just having a fun time at a sportsball game. So either they are full of crap or nobody invites them to anything.
The fact that the non-swift fans would have lost their damn minds if it turned out Taylor actively boycotted/removed/threw a fit about Jackson being there. Girl wouldn't have won no matter what she did here.
The part where RUclips was mad at both Sniper and Jacks is like in elementary/middle school when bullies assault and start fights with kids who have done nothing, then when the school finds out they suspend not just the bully but the kid who was assaulted because "they were involved too"
Republicans who want to revoke the free speech of foreign nationals don't see themselves as hypocrites for one simple reason: They don't see those foreign nationals as *people.* To them, rights aren't inalienable, they instead only apply to people within their "in-group." To equate Taylor Swift of supporting SA because she celebrated with people next to her and the creep was there doesn't mean she supports him. It's not that deep
The Taylor Swift story I really stand with the last group of responses. As someone who spends a lot of time online and consuming news media, I did not have a face to associate with Jackson Mahomes and the alleged assaults. Honestly, unless someone came up to me and told me about them before going into the VIP area I would've done the same thing. I don't think it's fair to criticize Taylors interaction with Jackson, but more the security for allowing him to be there in the first place.

The whole free speech thing is hilarious - those that constantly rally behind it, are the first ones to throw a tantrum when that free speech doesn't align with their stance. We can't have it both ways.
Why are people treating Chappelle’s “I deny being in Boston that night” as if it were a genuine denial, rather than the dismissive joke it so obviously is.
Both sides are bad about it. What's real funny is it's only if youre pro Palestine. Who knew hitlers fans mighta had a point about them running the joint, at least here in the states at least. @renbakes5083 not really, Dems allow idiots to say whatever they want. The main difference is they aren't advocating for the government to ban people that speak on one side of an equally terrible conflict (the exact thing GOP is for and Freedom of Speech is against)
THIS SAVED ME SO MUCH TROUBLE. I am out of state and had to transfer my prescription to another pharmacy. Didn't check if they covered my insurance like a dummy, then heard in this news story that a lot of insurances dropped covering CVS and mine was one of them. I would've had to transfer again, when I need my meds soon. Saved me a lot of time and energy :)) thank u
Regardless of what Dave Chapelle said during the show, it's insane that his team's immediate defense was that he wasn't even in Boston. Why lie about information that is so publicly available that a stadium-sized crowd can attest to? What is even the point?
For Chappelle, I don't know how pointing out evils on both sides is suddenly declaring one side or the other is correct. This "all in, 0-60 in 1.5 seconds" mentality, this "our side does no wrong" culture is out of hand. I have family who genuinely believe the only way Israel can defend itself is to respond in kind towards civilians, and anyone who says otherwise is on "the other side".
Well there's a huge national and economic interest in keeping the relationship with Israel good. It not surprising that the people who own news stations to make a hit piece like this
Same! Any time I even mention anything saying that I feel bad for the Palestinians, my mom gets mad at me for siding with the anti-semites. Like, sure, there are a scary number of anti-semites supporting the Palestinians, but there's also a lot of Islamaphobes supporting Israel. I think the problem is that people have such strong emotional attachments to both countries that they can't think of anyone attacking them as anything but the worst person in the world.
Humans are complex people, you can both support and feel compassion for those who are suffering, just not in this word. It’s weird how I can condemn terrorism and for some of these folks, all they hear is “you just want the Palestinians to suffer than”, I’m like no, what? 😂

That's not monopolies, that's the market conditions going to shit. They have a long list of reasons to leave, and independent pharmacies are very much an option.
it's constantly, "oh well if we allow this merger, or that price pressure, it's close to the line but not crossing it. should be fine". Don't just say sht. It's like the Israeli Palestinian conflict. Everyone says this bad and this bad but nobody offers a single god damn solution. It's so easy to say what you dislike but in the grand scheme, it's a complaint in the air. Nobody likes rural areas not having easy access to drugs. How do you solve it though?
Phil, thanks for bringing the pharmacy closure issue to light. As a pharmacist and Board Member of a State Pharmacist Association in a rural state, we are seeing the worst of it. Especially in our rural communities with our independent pharmacies. These independents can act as part of the lifeblood for rural communities as they are the only healthcare providers easily accessible in the area. These closures are really due to the business practices of Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBMs) the middlemen who negotitate contracts with insurances, manufacturers and pharmacy buying groups. They implement predatory clawback practices for reimbursement causing pharmacies to lose money on most prescriptions. These pharmacies can't even cover the cost of the medications due to PBMs clawing back reimbursement. This practice is always retroactive so pharmacies have no idea how much money they are losing until 3 months after the script is out the door and filled 3 times. Essentially they are giving their business away. PBMs market this as lives they give the pharmacies access to treat, which leads to a volume game. These practices along with your the many issues you brought up are causing these closures. I want to emphasize that there is no pharmacist shortage. There is a shortage of pharmacists and pharmacy staff willing to work in these working conditions that put patients at risk of errors and mistakes. As seen with the recent walkouts in Kansas City the last two months. These corporations like CVS and Walgreens typically only schedule one pharmacist per shift to supervise 3 to4 technicians, filling 200 to maybe even 500 prescriptions during their shift, while trying to answer patient questions, provide immunizations, clarify questions with providers' offices, and deal with insurance issues for patients, with no overlap. Imagine your family doctor being required to see 100 patients per day, diagnose and treat them while documenting everything that was done during the visit and supervised all the nurses activities. The sole blame goes unfortunately to nothing that ever changes, which is corporate greed from the PBMs, insurers, and corporate pharmacies unrealistic metrics and unsafe environment. Luckily there may be more oversight of PBM practices in the future as this has become a hot topic on both the federal and state level for a majority of states. As a pharmacist we ask for your patience as the profession continues to work to addressing these issues to access and ensuring a safe environment for our patients.
I only learned about PBMs from @DGlaucomflecken and his series of shorts on the American healthcare and insurance system. As a non US resident I find the insurance system and PBMs in particular very bewildering and in party downright inhumane.

No. So she was supposed to know, and she was supposed to stop being there for the game and concentrate on being rude?
I was at the Dave Chappelle show. Literally no one there was saying "go hamas". He condemned hamas, THEN he called out how Israelis treated Palestinians. There was maybe one person who walked out and it was probably the guy who told him to "shut the fuck up" because Dave roasted the shit outta him. Otherwise the Garden was still packed after that. Don't go to a comedy show if you're easily offended because he made fun of EVERYONE.
@@johndododoe1411 I mean there was no video as far as I know. They locked up the phones in these little pouches and there were security guards with handheld telescopes watching the crowd the entire show. It's literally a he said/she said so people are just gonna believe what they want too. I'm glad I seen it firsthand so I know how crazy they are about Chappelle. He made fun of the guy for paying to come to his show and tell him to shut the fuck up, told him to shut the fuck up and that was pretty much that. I didnt think it would blow up like this it wasn't even the most memorable part of the show lol.
I don't really understand what people wanted Taylor to do in that situation. Is she supposed to run a background check on every person she ever decides to stand near, just in case they've done something wrong?
And that's also ignoring that the entire 'supposed' point of the justice system is that people do their time and move on. Treating felons like second-class citizens that no one should interact with or allow at events is pure nonsense.
Yes. Unironically yes. At that level of celebrity, appearances matter. She should have staff dedicated to doing this sort of this, like PR sorts of people that get anyone that may be pictured with her beforehand whenever possible.
Do you not remember the individual who had a color of skin other than white do this exact same thing in 2022. And he actually ran people over, yet no officer opened fire on him. Phil covered that story too, it was a Christmas parade.

I would love to see a list of the Walgreens that are closing. It seems most new outlets that are writing on it are from June or further. No one can provide a list, but it would be interesting to see who is being affected the most and even could potentially show roots in redlining!
With regards to the US Speaker story - I think the saddest part is the fact that majority of the new "candidates" voted AGAINST ratification of the 2020 election results.
That's an irrelevant statistic given that doing so was the party line at the time . The list has to be checked against something relevant, such as actively pressing the party to vote against certification, or actively working to shut down the government . JJ failed on almost every criteria for being an reasonable person with republican views . McCarthy's biggest downside was sharing the last name of the 1950s witch hunter .
Republican presidential candidates saying they want to deport college students is INSANE and I don’t know how I haven’t seen more coverage of that before today and I’m fairly good at keeping myself up to date on republican shenanigans.
Probably got the idea from Democrat Congressman Eric Swalwell, who wanted to deport ALL Russian students after the Ukraine invasion - for simply being Russian and not even supporting the invasion.

On the topic of the first story, it is ethically and morally irresponsible to let someone like this drive a vehicle as big as that truck. He almost ran over a dozen people. There are probably many more people like that all across America and we don’t know about it.
Ah yes, I bet you think that we should have a governmental function that will dictate what cars can people drive. Like with guns, have red flag laws, and if there's a crazy, unhinged guy who is also a construction worker - well tough luck, cause a Corolla is the best he can hope for. My dude, a sedan can kill a person as much as a pick up truck, you're not saving lives by being "morally outraged" that a guy who gets mad drives a pick up truck. What an asinine comment.
It was not a truck. At best, it was an SUV. A truck has 18 wheels, and that's heavily regulated. Even a pick-up may be called a pick-up truck, but it's a pick-up. And, yes, there are many, many people like that in America alone. I've had fellow truckers (18 wheels) driving in New York where a four wheeler (car, SUV, pick-up), will collide with them intentionally for insurance. Why? Truckers are far more regulated than four wheelers. I've said time and again, every single driver should be held to trucking standards. Rewatching it a couple times : It may be a pick-up with a tarp over the bed.

The American government being as ineffectual as it is just makes me more and more firm in the belief that the dystopian novels I grew up on are more and more plausible. I can definitely see people getting frustrated and desperate enough to actually try to overthrow the government and start from scratch. We already had an absurd amount of people try to do it for a dumb reason, like believing the lies of an obvious grifter, so I’m terrified of a future where people think that it’s necessary to try again but for genuine reasons.

It's very odd that criticizing Israel military is considered anti-Semitic, would criticizing America's military actions be considered anti-American? Edit: I'm referencing to how criticism of Israel is often seen as an attack on Judaism and the people who follow it when that's not always the case
For Americans? Yes, absolutely. Research the protests around the time of the Vietnam war and the public's/governments' response to that. While that sounds like a good idea, being in congress or the senate is supposed to be a difficult job that requires intelligence, so paying less is only going to attract more degenerates, such as wealthy people who dont need the money, but just want the power. So it might encourage even more corruption The county I used to work for barely paid anything to be a commissioner, so all the commisioners were wealthy people who didn't need the income, but just wanted the power for their own purposes. As a Portland local, we legitimately have the dumbest and most insane drivers. I drive sooooo defensively these days and will often give a wide berth from other vehicles. Wherever you need to get to, it's not more important than some one else's life.
That tracks with the fact that you all were not allowed to pump your own gas until this year... and the response to that. I saw someone commenting on one of the local channel news stories about the change in that law complaining they are too infirm to pump their own gas, so this will be a problem for them. Oregon, do you seriously want drivers on the road that are too infirm to handle pumping gas? Are you certain that person has the vision and reaction-time necessary to for example not run over a child that darts into the street?
I've been listening to your content for so many years at this point. My career has gone from entry-level in the National Park Service to budget analyst in that time. At this point, I have been through all of the government shutdowns that there have been since 2010. What I can tell you is that generally speaking most people who work for my agency are not riled up about government shutdowns: they are threatened all the time but don't actually happen constantly. The difference this time is that it isn't the two parties fighting each other; it's one party fighting itself. What I can say about that is that the people who are going to get screwed if we go into a government shutdown are the employees that will not be getting paid and anyone who relies on the government being funded to live their own lives. Are people actually worried about this potential shutdown? Absolutely. I have a lot of friends who have been working for the Park Service the majority of their careers are their entire careers and still live paycheck to paycheck. Those people are more worried now than the last major shutdown in 2018-2019 when it lasted over a month, as everyone sees this as a strong possibility to be an even longer shutdown.

The Taylor Swift and Jackson Mahomes story is such a non-issue that it makes me wish I had so little going on in my life to care about something like that.
I'm going to celebrate the day that the news no longer tells us who Taylor Swift may be dating. It's so weird and odd to me that people are obsessed with her love life.
The thought of not having access to my medicine sent me into a panic until I realized it's for CVS, walgreens, etc. I'm lucky I get good deals through my local hospital for medications, but I can imagine how scared people are with these closures
Hey Phil. You said at the end of your first story that you were surprised this pos had a camera recording himself as well. It's not surprising at all actually, its usually people like this that have them most often because in their anger and idiocy they think their anger is always justified and everyone is always out to get them. I bet he has gotten pulled over many times before and he thinks the police harass him and he does nothing wrong. It's the same thing as the guy from Florida that recorded himself shooting a whole clip from his pistol through his own windows at someone on the highway because he was mad. Smh.

100% agreed, im not a fan of dave but this is probably the least controversial thing he’s said or done in his entire career lmao

Wild times when saying "killing innocent people is bad" is a political position.

Good news here. my local CVS is staffed with enough pharmacy techs finally.
Wait dying while at work because no one could cover them?
So yeah, most people are limited to complaining and voting on the limited options they are presented with. Often left having to chose which os the lesser evil, or only voting by party.
One of the best things we can do to address it is to implement ranked-choice voting, which would prevent candidates from acting as spoilers and would allow folks to vote for who they actually want, as opposed to the lesser of two evils.
People were saying they would do the same thing? The honking and swearing are one thing but the actual rampage??

My thoughts exactly! Why would she even know who he is? I follow football and didn't know about him. With how strong Taylor feels about abuse and treatment of all people, she would not have engaged with him but kept it civil since all of the attention around and issues people have with her attending football games.

Both the Chappelle and Swift stories make me question what people have going on their lives that this is the most important thing they have to be worried about.

That’s pretty much my take on it as well.

Yah that's what I was thinking like goddam does she have to know every single person she interacts with and their whole history? Just insane.

The fact that the non-swift fans would have lost their damn minds if it turned out Taylor actively boycotted/removed/threw a fit about Jackson being there.

The pharmacy thing is wild, and is a perfect example of how monopolistic things are allowed to become. That type of vertical integration is literally going to kill people, but our government will continue to sit on it's hands with the house actively hobbling itself without a single care because they're paid an unaffected.
That's not monopolies, that's the market conditions going to shit. They have a long list of reasons to leave, and independent pharmacies are very much an option.
it's constantly, "oh well if we allow this merger, or that price pressure, it's close to the line but not crossing it. should be fine". Even if, let us pretend, it is fine at that moment, we all could see it coming that it would lead to reduced competition and everyone else getting shafted down the road. "oh but that isn't my problem. someone should fix that though" *whistles while walking back into his mansion paid for by lobbyists* "oh and stand behind the gate, the security system will close it automatically".
@@CT_rl3what's the alternative? They want to exit. One option is to sell and one is to close up shop. Which one leads to more competition exactly? Do you want the government to treat pharmacies like they (sadly) treat banks and bail them the fk out every time someone threatens to close a store? Solutions. Offer an alternative solution.

I mean it's just another attempt for the racists to deport the people they don't like.
What's wrong with deporting Nazi's? If you support what happed in Israel, you're a monster and a Nazi.
Ikr? Its one thing to get fired for political opinions and another to get fully deported
The Actman was demonitized 2 months for a sarcastic twitt about doxxing people, so someone actually doxxing is at least 10x worse which should have 10x the punishment. Doxxingwolf should be demonitized a minimum of 20 months
I remember Dave Chapelle's joke on Space Jews.
So glad that I am not famous enough to worry about knowing the history of every other person in the bleachers with me at a sportsball game. Who knows how many deplorable people I've high-fived when my team scores a point...
Right??
The American government being as ineffectual as it is just makes me more and more firm in the belief that the dystopian novels I grew up on are more and more plausible. I can definitely see people getting frustrated and desperate enough to actually try to overthrow the government and start from scratch. We already had an absurd amount of people try to do it for a dumb reason, like believing the lies of an obvious grifter, so I’m terrified of a future where people think that it’s necessary to try again but for genuine reasons.
I think we're witnessing the death of capitalism as we know it. The greed has gone so far. It's eating itself now. It is unsustainable.
I remember I was somewhere in K-12 when I started watching you. This video here is very important, for it marks the birth of my firstborn child. And behind these days' good and bad stories, there is always going to be one more special story for me. And yes, I'm obsessed with finding out what happened on other people's birthdays. I think that's the "special thing" I want to communicate about this video in this comment.
Wow he is so lucky no one was hurt, I can't imagine being that angry at something especially a parade with people having fun
I work at a traffic control office. Traffic control is meant to keep/ control work zones to keep the public safe, but after working some time in this role, i reliesd most of the jobs is keeping the contracters safe from the public. You wouldn't believe some of the calls or reports i see for TC about the public.
The House Speaker situation just brings nothing but endless laughter because how else are you supposed to react?
Well with two major wars going on, the country itself on the brinks of implosion, and god knows what else is coming having the house crippled is not a good thing. They're not going to do it but they need to rewrite and update the 300 year old parchment to account for the stupidity of modern society.
Or about people saying we shouldn't discriminate against Muslims after 9/11. Or literally any protest involving anything to do with the military and cross reference the phrase "Anti-American." You'll get thousands of hits.
Yep if you criticise the military, even how they treat the soldiers, you're unpatriotic
Yes. Happened several times. That's not a hypothetical.
Ask Colin Kaepernick
@@KomoliRihyoh I see where I messed up my analogy, for me the problem is when we colloquially refer to Jewish people it also refers to those who follow Judaism. Because of this criticizing Israel is often seen as an attack on those who follow the religion when that's not necessarily the case
Nuts that Dave Chapelle can get flak over just denouncing active genocide
If you say anything counter to the mainstream narrative, your antisemitic. This is the problem. We have allowed to much cencership to come in. Now you must watch what you say, or if could be jail if your in the right county.
Imagine hearing "it's bad that a government is depriving children of water and power" and going "SHUT THE FUCK UP!"
To be fair if the reports are true then he didnt get much flak, just a few annoying lsraeI supporters in the crowd who yelled and walked out but its nice to know that most people in the show were receptive to the free paIestine message
Eh, he can say a good thing about anything, he's still a shitty person.
To be fair, it's not actually a genocide.
I was IN BOSTON on the 20th Chappell was definitely there and all I heard was “STFU” and a walkout
"children and clowns alike" is a phrase I've never heard before today. Thanks, Phil.
Politicians income definitely needs to be tied directly to median income (make it like2-4x) but make it so they are not legally capable of accepting money from NY other sources. Extra scrutiny needs to be placed on their family too. They are servants of the people
While that sounds like a good idea, being in congress or the senate is supposed to be a difficult job that requires intelligence, so paying less is only going to attract more degenerates, such as wealthy people who dont need the money, but just want the power. So it might encourage even more corruption
The county I used to work for barely paid anything to be a commissioner, so all the commisioners were wealthy people who didn't need the income, but just wanted the power for their own purposes. They really sucked and clearly favored the richer municipalities
Politicians should not be able to hold any stocks in a company and have term limits.
Surely, Detective Swift investigates the personal record of every spectator who shares a VIP box with her before attending.
Are you certain that person has the vision and reaction-time necessary to for example not run over a child that darts into the street?
aint known or the brightest people either haha
As a Jew, I thank Dave Chappelle. Thank you for taking a stand against the Israeli government and Hamas.
I still am upset about his views on trans people. I do believe it is out of ignorance and not hatred.
@@JosephWolfson i am tired of the babying of trans individuals. as much as they force themselves into women's spaces they deserve pushback.
RUclips had the chance to have a massive W and gain "Some" respect back. Just kick her off or demonetize her completely. Instead they took that chance and made themselves look 20× worse.
JacksFilms has 17yrs on this platform, and he gets Zero justice from them. They don't seem to understand how badly they F*cked Up
If you're talking about Sniperwolf, none of us have seen her original video and none of us know how much information she gave out about Jack and how much is just people throwing around the word "doxxing" . It's like when some companies call out users for "hacking" without real facts behind it .
@johndododoe1411 None of us, are you sure? There is evidence, people recorded it, took screenshots. She doxxed him. Cut that crap.
@johndododoe1411 I mean you can be willfully ignorant but evidence is evidence. Next time search before you speak about something serious.
I think it's funny that Taylor Swift fans think the NFL cares about having felons (convicted or not) in their stadiums when there's been players convicted of crimes that still played and got the spotlight.
I didn't have "Agreeing with Dave Chapelle" on my 2023 bingo card
Hey Phil fun horrifying fact. You can get your license in Mississippi without even getting behind the wheel of a vehicle 🙃
Say what
Learner permit or full license?
Kinda like getting your driver’s license from a Cracker Jack box…
For everyone asking. It's your full license. It's horrifying driving on the roads here.
@@kingofhearts3185 Full license
Sssiperwolf moving her main content to her alternate channel says it all. Her apology wasn't real, a PR team probably wrote it or maybe even RUclips. There was no punishment really, she got off scott free.
Phil, it's so nice to see you stay accountable and admit when wrong about the sniperwolf situation even though it was low stakes. I've been watching your vids since the beginning, and this is the reason I keep coming back.
The Taylor Swift and Jackson Mahomes story is such a non-issue that it makes me wish I had so little going on in my life to care about something like that.
Amen.
Preach.
Wtf did the Swifties want her to do? Throw hin off the balcony? Theyre turning "why did she do this" into "why did she do this to me".
Guys. Taylor swift is a single human. She cannot know of and negate every possible interaction with every possible problem person.
True!! Have no clue who that guy was
I'm going to celebrate the day that the news no longer tells us who Taylor Swift may be dating. It's so weird and odd to me that people are obsessed with her love life.
I watch most RUclips sped up 1.5 or 2x. This channel is the only one I slow down to 0.75 😂
The thought of not having access to my medicine sent me into a panic until I realized it's for CVS, walgreens, etc.
Smh.
