Awesome whisky, Alan! It was flying under my radar and I almost didn't go for it when it showed upon the shelf. I shrugged, reasoning that every new bottle is an adventure and it's all about trying as many experiences as possible. I couldn't believe the nose and palate when I first opened the bottle recently... You're right when you say there's a lot going on! I'm imagining it getting even better and easier to pin down the different flavors and aromas with time. I'm giving it a chance to settle down before I drain the bottle and replace it...
Had a wee tot of this at The Open last summer (seems so long ago ... in fact I think Loch Lomond are the official whisky of The Open). The guy pouring found it surprising that I picked up some smoke. I liked it a lot. Thanks for this one, Alan! :)
Yes Richard your correct they do sponsor the open, I actually have a limited open special bottling In the back of my cupboard somewhere... Its value is a no brainer... Thanks for dropping bye again my friend... Cheers Alan
It really is about time you reviewed this Alan. I went straight out and bought one way back last year when you recommended it to me, and I love it! You are spot on, as usual. Probably my most often bought 12 year Scotch so far. Cheers mate.
Awesome review ! Just opened the LL12. An excellent dram. Has a nice a “spicy punch”. Available in Ontario LCBO for just under $64 CDN - excellent value. Definitely going to purchase several “backup” bottles, Cheers !!
I just bought my 3rd bottle for $22 This bottle is so undervalued. It crushes the likes of Macallan 12, Dalmore 12 and many others. It has one of the best noses I've ever experienced. The best part is the palate does not fall short of the nose. This is one of the best scotches I have ever tried and the price I pay is unheard of. I also bought the LL 18 for $80 without question and can only imagine what it will taste like when I open the bottle. This bottle only has one way to go and that is up in price. Your tasting notes are spot on. Great review.
I’ve passed over this malt so many times before finally purchasing. Wow. For between $29-$35 US it’s a bargain. Just a solid and lovely malt. Easy drinking. Thank for your reviews! Greatly appreciated
Great Whisky and near me can be very inexpensive. Samples arrived yesterday. Super picks like Unicorns jumping out of the box ! Many thanks Alan. Cheers
Nice review and nice collection there behind you. Seeing those bottles helps give context to your opinion. I am curious: how many of each bottle do you acquire and what is your rationale for that number? I've heard the concept of 3 - one to drink now, one to drink later and one to trade/gift. Any other thoughts? Obviously it's limited by budget/price and also not every whisky will have trading value in the future, but still, I'd love to hear thoughts on this. I'm sipping this LL12 now and it's the first time I ever smelled/tasted red/pink berries like strawberry/cranberry/cream in a malt, it's delightful and surprising.
Thanks for dropping bye Alex... I only buy 1 of each bottle... Once I open it, if I really like it I will buy as many as I can get (for a rainy day) bottles like bunna 12 is usually on offer at maybe £30 when it's that cheap I usually buy a case... Like I did with the LL12... Always on my bar... I also share a lot.... So I need a lot... Hope that helps... Cheers fella..
Nice review, Alan. This is a lovely daily sipper with enough complexity to keep it engaging. The natural presentation really helps. I picked my bottle up on offer for £30 and it is superb value at that price. What are your thoughts on the Inchmurrin 12?
I will say I've walked past this in the store a few times and not picked it up, believing there's no way such an affordable single malt could be worth my time! After seeing this however, it may be time to reconsider!
It's great value for money here and if I see around £30 I always pick up a bottle. Not blow your socks off whisky just honest whisky... Cheers buddy...
As it was OSWA nominated this year, I picked up a bottle. Your review is spot on although my version is not as spicy. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Alan. Well done 👍 ciao S.
I don't get on so well with LL 12, it's fine enough given the price but I don't find myself picking it up. That said I have an open bottle in the cupboard atm, although I've been using it to dose up High Commissioner as I work my way though a 1lt gifted bottle of it. Works well, if you like melon, a dash of LL12 added to a dram of HC becomes a real melon feast. I'm drinking it but no plans to replace either.
@@thewhiskyfriend The coins look fantastic Alan and cannot wait to try them out tonight...it is a far cry from the plastic cap I was using before. Slàinte Mhath
@@thewhiskyfriend this is for sure a 'hot' whisky...flavours are a bit harsh, but overall, not too bad...I'llprobably stick to Glenallachie and Glen Garioch in future.

It's a ripper dram for me
I haven't had it yet but will be looking for it. Thank you for the review

Had the Inchmurrin 12 and liked it a lot, I'll have to try this one. Thanks Allen
it's at K&L in Cali for $19.99 with two mini's that come with the box. best deal in single malt in the U.S. WOW Uncle Al !!!
One of the most easy drinking collection for whisky beginner for sure.
Great Whisky and near me can be very inexpensive. Samples arrived yesterday. Super picks like Unicorns jumping out of the box ! Many thanks Alan. Cheers
Your very welcome Tim thank you for your continued support my friend... How's that coin looking... Cheers for dropping bye... Alan
@@thewhiskyfriend New coins are great!
My favorite Liquor Store in Ellicott City, Maryland had this on sale for $26.99 US last Fall. No brainer, super value.
No mark? I haven't had this yet, but there is an open bottle of Inchmurrin 12 at my bar, that I find really decent.
Yes buddy clean forgot to score but for you 87 fella... One of the best value money scotches fella... Thanks for dropping bye my friend...
Love this whisky Alan. Buy it and drink it regularly. Great value for money. Thanks for great review and confirmation of how good a whisky it is.
It's a no brainer Cliff...
I enjoyed them both Cliff.. Cheers for dropping bye my friend...
Have you tried GlenGarry by Loch Lomand?
No I have not had the pleasure Rob... Should I track it down...
I hoped you might have known about it. I have seen it on my stores shelf. But have not found any on-line reviews.
Nice review. Never had a Loch Lomond with a box. 🤔. The 17 organic is also 👌
It's a beaut. My local Bargain Booze had one on the shelf for so long it needed dusting. Pretty sure I'll dust it off in short order.
It's another good one Alan... I'm sure you will love this one fella

I can sample you this if you want.... Great value if you can get it around £30...cheers Bart....
