  • A walk at the end of the summer, up 3 hills and along an old droving track in Cranborne Chase. With great views all around and a nice surprise, that shows life is going on as normal in rural England.
    After all that walking I cook up one of my homemade lunches in a field with a view of the hills.

    One of the best things about England is the gorgeous country side! I’m liking the fact it’s not all video and you’ve added some photos in it, switches things up from the usual hiking channels! Great video!

      Thanks Beth! Yeah I think it works well putting photos in amongst it. Just trying to make it nice and relaxing to watch really.
      BTW, this is the vid I was talking about in my comments on your channel. You might have noticed me making my coffee in the same metal pot as I was then later magically cooking in! That’s coz I forgot my cup! 😂
      Thanks for watching. - ATB, Rosy 👍

    Great video. What a gorgeous day. Who'd have thought I'd have been shocked to see village cricket! Strange times we're living in. I reckon the danger sign was because someone had an accident and sued the landowner responsible for maintaining the right of way. Definitely the right way to make use of the last sunny days of the year.

      I know what you mean about the cricket. It was so nice to see something ‘normal’ happening. I wondered the same about that sign.
      Glad you enjoyed the vid. It was a great day out.

    Fantastic countryside for hiking that is for sure...lol...stair steps..."that makes it easier...not much"...same for me...how appropriate seeing a single poppy on this Remembrance Day here in Canada...the history of old structures I find intriguing as to the hope and dreams of their builders...there are some amazing views and figure it is no wonder you return to hike the area...thanks so much for taking the time to share...

      Yeah it’s a nice area, and not so far from where I live - about an hour’s drive. I only really discovered it recently, after living here for 20 years! 😄
      Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it! 👍

    Looks like you got the last of the good weather, I think I must have walked the ridge that you wanted to walk further to the north. I’ve been along parts of Ox Drove before and recognised the first hill you went up. I may head back there soon.

    • @hikingwithrosy
      @hikingwithrosy  3 года назад +2

      Yeah I thought I recognised part of your last walk. There’s definitely some great views along that ridge. BTW, I worked out where that other ridge I could see in the distance is. I’ve already walked it! 😄 - It’s the area I did in my ‘Walk & Cook #2 Iron Age Hillfort’ video. So Martin Down and Pentridge area.

    Thumbs up Mark - them summits were nice and rounded but most definitely the best vantage pints for miles around. I liked the back lanes and trails leading to them. It felt like a real rural ramble. Nice day to with some good grub. Mark

      Thanks Mark! Funny you should comment right now I was literally just watching your Wye Valley Walk Day 1 video. 😄
      We don’t have any dramatic mountains around here but I’m very happy with these chalk ridges and old paths.

      @hikingwithrosy  3 года назад

      Haha! I thought you hadn’t noticed and I had got away with that! Yeah, this was filmed at the tail end of the summer. I’m not sure how long this walk was. Probably only about 7 miles I guess. My cooking skills are still very basic but I’m enjoying doing it. Something great about cooking outdoors!

    • @hikingwithrosy
      @hikingwithrosy  3 года назад +1

      Yeah a cook book is a good idea - I could certainly do with one! 😂
      We’re surviving 2.0, just waiting for it to be over really, and hoping that even this lot of lunatics won’t try a 3.0!
      We went for a walk down by the coast today and there was a cafe selling coffee, bacon butties and alcohol! If you wanted alcohol you had to order it then at the same time text the name of the drink to a number they give you. Seemed weird but turns out it’s coz they can only sell alcohol if you appear to have pre-ordered it. LOL! Us Brits always find a way around the rules! 😄
      ATB Mate! 👍
