Another excellent video from RMP... I have just a single piece of feedback--the screen resolution on the GPSMAP 1022 is 1024x600, and the screen resolution on the EchoMap Ultra 106sv is 1280x800. The Ultra unit 60% more pixels for the same size screen, and is therefore capable of rendering a notably sharper picture. The EchoMap UHD 93sv has an 800x400 display, which is less than a third the number of pixels as the Ultra. The extra pixels are most likely the reason for the higher price point. If you're looking for the sharpest screen image (among these three units), the Ultra may be worth the extra cost.
SonarAngler, not sure if you are following. Your info on the screen resolution is definitely helpful. However, does that extra screen resolution really make a difference because the livescope output seems to be pretty low resolution anyways? I don't know what the native resolution is for the livescope output but if it is below 800 x 400, then having any higher resolution screen may not help....? Thanks in advance for any comments.
Great Presentation, very informative. I just received my Livescope before Christmas and was able to get a $200.00 rebate from Garmin as well. It will be a few months before rigging it to my boat (live in Ontario Canada). Have also downloaded the Active Captain App to my iPad which will make most options on my GPS 1022 touch screen. I have bought 10 gauge wire to power the unit, but going with Milwaukee 18 Volt 12 AMP hour battery right next to the Livescope for very little current loss. Thanks for your in put, much appreciated.
He said that with out any pain 2500 to 3200 for a fish finder truck 58 to 64.000 boat 28 to 42000 tackle rods new rod at bass pro top of line 400.00 only 1 but need 12 of them just think in 1989 you was able to buy truck and boat for 7800. House was 28.500 1979 man you got to make at lease 100.000 a year let's don t about retirement this year.
For air rifle it’s a no brainer. 120 dollar air rifle. 30 dollar scope plus 10 dollars on 11mm rings. Good balance of having fun without unnecessary spending.
I am from Quebec Canada. The species we fish is the speckled trout, the characteristic of this one is that it is held in less than 30 feet. The main technique to catch it is by trolling with a spoon followed by a hook with a worm. Of course it is quite rare with my Humminbird Mega Live G2N Si to distinguish these specimens even with the traditional sounder because as soon as one approaches them the shadow of the boat makes them flee immediately. In these circumstances if I acquire a Garmin GPSMAP 1222 with Panoptix Livescope System Touchscreen Chartplotter an investment of 4310 $ Canadian that can give me a certain advantage in the capture of this trout
Thank you for the options. I think a video clarifying Panoptics and live scope would be a great video, it is my understanding that they are different and use different transducers. The non-touch screen paired with liveScope is a great option. Would it still be a good option if you do not have electronics and were leaning towards a Soilx 12 or does Garmins down/side and sonar rival Hummingbirds with its Mega systems? Thank you for you help.
So have a 93sv in the back and I fish there from my tiller boat. Considering livescope for the front. Am confused though about a transducer up there, why would I do that? Maybe upgrade the back to the ultra 93sv and network to the front screen that has no transducer or maybe just move the old 93sv up there and run it off the new ultra and the livescope?
I bought the 93sv ice fishing bundle in January and I’m blown away with this technology and able to catch Kokanee through the ice for the first time. I am now using this on a C-dory on the back and want to add the 10 inch UHD unit using the 9 inch screen in my cabin and the 10 inch on the back networked. I added the GPS19x for NMEA2000 for the front unit but don’t know if that was needed ? Also do I need anymore black boxes with my setup ? Can my icom vhf radio tie in with this or do I need to get a garmin vhf radio? Thanks for these videos explaining overall options ! It’s hard figuring out the total setup that is possible with all the options garmin makes !
Thanks for the video! Can I network 93sv UHD (w/ Transducer and Livescope) to the 1022 unit without a GMS10 hub? And, will the 1022 be able to use/see the mapping from the 93sv UHD? Appreciate it.
I have a echomap plus 93 sv and an echomap uhd 93 sv. Which one should be upfront and which on the console. Hope to get livescope sometime in the future
You can't compare....lowrance doesn't have anything near livescope to compare it to. That's why people who run all Lowrance buy one garmin unit to run just livescope.
I don’t own a boat but am looking to get one in the near future! I am a complete novice dealing with electronics, so what are some things to consider or look at when purchasing electronics to help me find fish?
i might be late to the party and it may have already been done but let’s see a video of the most expensive set ups to go with! how high in price can we get 😂
Hi i fish in 300ft of water around long island and block island. im looking at the ECHO 106sv that comes with the gt54 transducer and the GPS 943xsv with a GT50. What is the better set up?
GPS MAP 1022 non touch non sonar and the 1500$ live scope transducer is all I would have to buy to get the best live scope setup on 10 in. screen for the lowest price? Would there be any additional cables or mounts needed? I'm about to pull the trigger on getting it.
If you want to expand "later" just wait a year and they'll be telling you how expanding last years unit is foolish "when you can simply buy this year's newest thing" and if you want to expand later...
Thanks for laying out the various options! The missing feature I thought I would have that is not available for the Echo Map 93SV (and I think all Echo Map series) is the ability to record Live Scope readings on a tablet or cell phone using the Active Captain app. It is not a big deal though, if you are not planning on making videos. I will be upgrading due to this reason. Trying to hold my cell phone steady in rough waters to make video clips of the screen is a bit tricky.
I have an aluminum boat so I can't use the transducer unit that mounts inside the boat. Can I still use live scope and does it change the price? I would like a 10 inch screen min. Thanks
Hi there,I have a 94 17ft bass tracker 2 stroke,I want to get the garmin trolling motor and definitely live scope, which do you prefer for the trolling motor and screen,I have a fishfinder on it already, just want a screen for in front of the boat, not really on the market for a new boat or a payment for a boat...any suggestions would be appreciated!
Hi, I'm new to your channel and plan to watch more on the Garmin products but for now, can I ask is the Garmin Force Trolling Motor suitable for saltwater. What setup would you recommend for saltwater use? for Australian conditions.
I was told by workers in basspro and Cabelas to stay away from Garmin. Parts are $$$$. And hard to get. Have to be shipped from head office and costs $$$$. Ill get hummingbird parts everywhere and easy and wallet friendly
And I can walk in my local pro shop and talk to a lowrance rep anytime and theirs none of that out in dark feelings going on. Best of luck on all the Ginnie pigging going on out there
Well I walked in to Bass Pro in the beginning of last year and asked about Livesight. He told me you don’t want that, what you want is Livescope. Did my research, bought it, couldn’t be happier, caught a lot of fish, and can’t wait to fish this year. I recently got a Force and later on will get a 1022.
I’ve used hummingbird to lowrance to eagle fish finders and I’m 51 yo. You haven’t seen shit until you’ve seen this livescope technology boys. I bought a 93sv ice fishing bundle in January and it was a game changer and able to catch Kokanee through the ice for the first time . Sell your wife and house to get this technology . Just sayin. My Cdory is now getting all Garmin networked stuff because of livescope .
A mouthful of acronyms and hype and I'm still no closer to understanding what I need. I feel like Garmin intentionally obfuscates their product offerings to make you have to go talk to their salesmen with their retail partners.
