Hi, this discussion was very very informative thank you for that. From other comments and my own research, I know it's tough to get a self-sponsored skilled worker visa with 75 points, as a software engineer with 2+ years of experience from off-shore.
Is it possible to get a temporary visa sponsored by an employer? How difficult is that: I apply, get a job and then can come to Australia on this visa(then convert to skilled PR)?
How many points do I need approx. if I come on a student visa for MSc, and then apply for the subclass 189 skilled worker visa?

Australia is tightening their visa grant for students these day so it is very difficult to get admission in Masters of IT if your previous qualification is not in computer background.

Also, once you get a PR, irrespective of which technology you work, you will get a job... But if you are not a PR and want someone to sponsor a work visa, then it is difficult as a Java Developer.

Getting opportunities in regional is not difficult these days especially for IT consultants, but I would still recommend you to get a job as soon as you can... Because once the work from the office will start... Getting IT jobs in regional will get slightly tough... I may be wrong but this is what I think can happen as per my analysis!

Hello sir, is it worth to come australia at the age of 42. I am oracle cloud consltant at oracle india with 14 yr exp. I dnt own house here in india and only working in family (wife n 1 kid 7 yr). I dnt know whethwr i can live there and then later i can save enough there to manage and to get own house and all with this age if i come there with PR.
