We use to have a bb gun. It was fun shooting it. Have a great weekend Greyman!👍✌️
My little brother did too, cheers for watching, have a great weekend yourself mate
Another awesome upload jam packed with memories. Also it is actual size!
Yeah a couple of classic ads there mate, I'm sure I must have had an Evel at some point, I have memories vaguely but maybe one of my cousins owned it
Comments are turned off on your OJ and the Dingo Kids vid, so I just wanted to mention that, that has always been the most memorable of the classic comic ads to me.
Probably as it has kids in it RUclips put a block on it, even though they are not actual living people and the ad is not aimed at kids but adults reminiscing on their youth maybe. Cheers for the comment
I had or at least my brother had one of those Daisy BB guns. We works shoot crows trying to eat mangos out of our tree out back. I don’t think we ever killed one but it got rid of them for awhile.😁
uh-oh that's how serial killers start out being cruel to animals!! I always had my suspicions about you Rog!! Ah then again that's just the kind of things most kids do before they learn a bit more empathy! Mind you sports hunting is very big there so maybe I am just squeamish as I wouldn't stone or shoot a crow and I certainly wouldn't orphan Bambi!!
Daisy rifles ads were omnipresent in older comic books. I SO wanted a BB gun when I was a kid. But fortunately, my mom knew better so I never shot my eye out.
Every good ranger needs his weapon surely, maybe you are more of a D+D ranger with a bow! You can't shoot yourself with one of those..... can you?!
@@thegreyman Funny you should say that. I actually got my nickname ''Ranger Sly'' when I worked at a leisure/outdoor center in the Laurentian forests, north of Montreal. I was a guide and I self-trained into identifying birds (and their calls), mammal tracks (and poop), trees, plants, mushrooms, etc. I often had to lead and monitor activities at the archery range over there, so I became pretty decent with a bow. Later, with a group of friends, I participated in LARP and renaissance fair-type battles where I was mainly an archer and crossbowman.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
The nearest thing I remember in the UK was an air rifle, but they weren't sold to kids! But I do remember in show and tell in primary school a boy brought an air rifle he had borrowed from his older brother. (His brother didn't know) He attempted to show what him and his brother did at the week-ends, but the teacher quickly got it away from him, before he fired the loaded rifle. Someone could of lost an eye that day!
yeah air rifles are they not the same as a BB gun? I think the pellets were called BBs too. My little bro had one
@@thegreyman Yes I think You're probably right, couldn't remember what the trade name was on the one the boy brought with him, it's over 50 years ago! Also you have to be 18 here to have and use one. Don't think that kid in the ad, is 18, lol! Can't drink in America until your 21, but you can play with what could be a lethal weapon at 8?
@@Deadman1957TEB oh yeah they have their priorities so right! I can't remember who said it but there's a quote, something like. "I don't mind the American's right to bear arms, it's their right to bear children that I object to!"
@@thegreyman Or who was it that said, "Is it the right to bear arms, or arm bears, I can't remember?" The late Robin Williams, I believe!
My dad told me he once shot someone with his air rifle when he was a kid, he was laid near the top of a banking and someone came up the other side just as he let a shot off! I bet those Evel Knievel miniatures took just as many bumps as old Evel did as well.
I think everyone knew about a friend of friend who'd had their eye out thanks to an air rifle incident, I bet they were mostly bs tales though! I hope so anyway! Have you not got any Evel toys in your vast collection yet?!
I imagine so, I didn't think he was that kind of kid anyway, there was that kid at school that got his eye took out when he wasn't paying attention and walked into a javelin 😄 No, my mate had the wind up cycle when we were kids so I just got to throw his around, you can get an updated one though, mid you it is 50 quid!
@@tmpsfrommars I recall we had a similar motorcycle toy called Screaming Demons I dunno if it was some cheap knock off but I recall playing with it some but can't recall who owned it, pretty sure it wasn't me though
