Very good. I have just been out this morning looking for an e MTB. I live in France and clearly there is a shortage. I went to the Cube store in Limoges for a Stereo Hybride but nothing available until September. Then went to the Specialized shop. They had one of these Turbo Levos in stock in size S3 which I thought would be too small for me. I took it out around the car park and found it just right. Problem is it is black and that colour of your blue one is lovely. He had another in the box ready to build but it is black also. I've been riding mtb and road for over 35 years and have had enough of the killer hills and being dead when I get home. An ebike is the way forward.
I ended up buying the battleship grey expert model. I do like the black gloss one though. You can always jazz it up with a few decals. Enjoy those hillls up and down!
Great video and nice riding man. I just got my SL but my battery life seems to be quite drastic compared to yours. Did 19 miles yesterday and used about 50%. Maybe the battery wasn’t fully charged or it was getting older for some reason. Still thanks for the review have fun riding.
Thanks @victorrafa 19 miles for 50% seems pretty good. Don't forget I was in KM. I find around 40km on the Trail mode and not much more than 25km in Turbo is what I can get. I did a full range test on the Levo SL Expert when I bought it, I have the video on the channel.
The more you ride the better you become at using the three power modes efficiently. It’s learning when to drop down a power level as soon as possible and also when to go up. Keeping a good cadence is also important, grinding slowly hoping the motor will do the rest doesn’t work so ride low gears. You’ll suddenly find you can go a lot further.
Great video, good riding, just done 100 mile on mine and I totally agree with dropper post and the children bike sounding ratchet on the rear, battery life, well to me it is a SL and I bought mine just to get some help when I needed it I am old and fat tho :-)
Hi Mark. I now have an an SL and bought the expert with the Fox 36. The dropper is better and the ratchet is better sounding. I did another battery video and it did so much better. It is great on the descents, and have the battery extender…. Just in case.
Great video. Similar results to what I found. I found even in turbo it felt gutless compared to the normal Levo. The problem with power is you get used to more power and don't want to ride with less. Saying that it does handle better being lighter and has less resistance to pedal when the motor is not on. The normal Levo is a PIG to ride with no motor. I must admit though I would not swap my Levo for a SL. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Lance. Thanks have ordered an SL Expert. I did like the handling and I will share it with my partner and she wanted a lighter bike. We will maybe get a Levo in a year when the new version comes out.
Yes I’m the odd one here, but I found the normal Levo too powerful and actually didn’t like riding it above Eco mode! I recently got the SL and it is the best bike I’ve ridden, with enough power for my needs. I’m in love with this bike!
It looks like you tested the alloy frame but bought the carbon one. Do you notice a big difference? Im wondering if the carbon frame is with the extra money. I’ve read the alloy is 3 lbs more, which is alot.
Hi Kurt. I think the Expert version which I bought is around 1kg 2-3lbs more than the alloy comp. It does feel a little lighter and the Expert has the Fox 36 fork which is partly why I got it. I had a great time on both bikes but the Alloy Comp was the only one available to test. if you get the lower spec Carbon Comp you could always upgrade parts over time when they wear out.
So at 20kg with a range extender you’re only a bag of sugar away from some full power ebikes. Interesting to see what the Alloy Orbea Rise will come out at
I think with this type of build on a full fat ebike you would be talking about 24-25kg. I bought the Expert which is 18kg + 1kg for the range extender. My first choice was the Orbea but it was a minimum 8 month wait.
we tune the power right down 20/20 which is also just the bikes resisitance so feels like a normal bike, 30/30, then 30/60 for some big steep hills, had to be in 20/20 for atleast 4 hrs to get that range. so whats the point of the power I guess you say????? yes I was thinking that a might do a test ride on my 9 kg carbon non ebike and see whats the difference??? I guess its nice not to worry about the hills late in the day but certainly a pain in the arse lifting ebikes over fences on the trails @@jaselikesbikes
@@georgiegirl2001 sounds sensible. As you say it is a good option to turn up the motor if / when you get tired or on long hills. I bet the non ebike still lags behind a little, unless you are super fit.
if the lever was stiff then the technician probalby did not assemble it properly, they did it on my friends bike, i had to shorten the cable the stuffed inside the bike through rushing

Enjoyed this excellent content.
Thanks Paul, much appreciated.

@@jaselikesbikes thanks I’ll check it out. I rode mainly in eco and trail so that makes more of a difference than I thought- good to know.

@@jaselikesbikes I wish I could share bikes with my wife but she is only 5 foot tall. Have fun on the new bike.
Very tricky. See you out on the trails.
I was going to pop into the shop and change the order to the new Levo but I just saw the 21k price tag......eeek.

Also , although approaching the same weight your range is increasing with the extra battery. Chucking it over a gate is also easier😉
Yeap did 105 kms yesterday 8 hrs 2000 m climbing but only used 30/30 and 50/50
That is amazing range! Nice work, I bet it was also pretty tiring.

Thanks, my Turbo Levo SL Expert is ready to be picked up so I will check on that.
Nice work. Hard to go back to a normal bike after that...
You are not wrong Craig. If we get one the trouble will be trying not to use it too much!
Nearly a fade to splat in there! Maybe charge it next time? ;)
Ha Ha. You know all about fade to splat Callum.
That engine sounds a lot louder compared to my fuel exe.
Yes the motor isn't that quiet the exe is very quiet.
that engine is way louder than it should be imo
I agree, there are quieter motors out there now.
what's the weight of this beast?)
This one is 19kg.
@@jaselikesbikes thank you! It's a medium-size frame, correct?
@@skiact4763 Yes The S -Works is 17, Expert 18 and Comp just over 19 in a M. I think I will look at the Expert with the Fox36 Forks.
@@jaselikesbikes assume the comp weight at 19kg is the alloy version as there is also a carbon comp as well,,,, cheers
@@apoffs Yes just over 19kg. I have the expert of order so will weigh that when it arrives.
