davidknappdesign I had the opportunity to contribute some designs for an alien armada of ships in the Dark Phoenix. They were originally planned to be featured at the end of the film in a big space showdown with Jean (later replaced with the train scene). The design intention was to have these ships be shape shifting, we experimented with a lot of different approaches from hard surface to organic, almost moth-like form language. Here are a few of the final picks for the fighter ships.
From the original third act, Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee), Selene (Kota Eberhardt) and Red Lotus (Andre Stehlin) inside a mutant containment facility.
From the original third act, Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) after an alien attack on the United Nations in New York City.

It is not necessary to invest more money in finishing special effects, nor to re-release the film with additional costs.

Thanks to previous trailers, tv spots, conceptual arts and a statement from the director in 2020, we can verify the existence of several deleted scenes that we have not seen yet. Not even in the deleted scenes from the home release. Except for two of them. In addition to having knowledge of the existence of a never seen cut of almost 2hr40min and a completely different third act (unfinished) and screened in test mode with random audiences.

Colour me surprised, I didn't flat out hate #DarkPhoenix. It was fine. Is it too much to ask though to get a movie about a classic line up fighting giant robots? Gimme Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Colossus and Nightcrawler fighting a horde of Sentinels.
1:59:24 - This is not Pyro, it`s Sunfire.
Pyro's name appears in the description of the concept artist who worked on the film, so it is most likely him.
@@DarkPhoenix_UN-Cut Well, okay. It's just more like Sunfire, as it was featured in the original script. And Pyro in X2 was pretty young, in 90s he should be about 10 years old or something.
