Small but USEFUL! Honda ADV 350 | EICMA 2021

- Honda is carrying on it's interesting scooter revolution with the new 350 ADV. An almost 350cc engine, quite a bit of electronics which are very welcome for city riding and a comfortable ride should make this a good commuting option.

Who needs a scooter for daily commuting?
Scooters.. the Model T of the 21st century.
Me, but at 6'4'' I need this 350 engine in a larger frame. Also, as with all scooters, I need lower footpegs rather than the usual scooter floorboards. I always annoys me as I look for practicality and am not interested in what other bikers think (big engines, more power, more tech, sticky low-life tyres).
I sold my Kawasaki Versys and bough a Kymco AK550i. My riding is mostly around town and short highway rides... I love my scooter and don't miss the Versys at all.
I do, i live in Rome, i make like 30k km per year with my sh 300 from 2018, im going to switch to this one probably sooner or later, i like the extra excursion of the suspensions, roads are not perfect here. The only thing im worried about are the tyres, doesn't look grippy at all.
Need no desire yes… also a scooter will keep those nasty old outlaw bikers from trying to befriend you or share their drugs with you and get you in trouble…..
I've been riding for more then 30 years I brought a scooter last year as a stop gap and loved every second I rode it. So answer to the question yes scooter are fun
sold my Z1000SX and bought a scooter like you, as a stop-gap. I will buy adv350 as soon as they release it in the UK
It'll do all I want just like my Forza 300 did. And, with a hint of off-road capability, maybe a bit more. I can see me touring WW1 battlefields on this comfortably. I dont camp anymore just hotels. This is all the machine I need. Well done Honda
Yes, absolutely. I love scoots. I have a Vespa GTS 300 and a Triumph Tiger 850 Sport. Both great machines, and it is a bonus to have both. The scoot is hands down the better urban runabout, and I've done some 300 km trips on it as well. I love the X-ADV and this looks like a brilliant addition. If they brought this to Canada, I'd be seriously interested.
Of the 35 bikes I’ve owned (mostly Honda’s) about 6 or seven have been scooters: fantastic in cities where the vast waterproof lockable quickly-accessible storage really means something!
For the most part, Americans don’t commute on bikes (I suspect because of the lane splitting laws, leaving a bike with no traffic advantage over a car) but just visit any city overseas, where lane splitting is allowed, and you’ll see commuting scooters of all sizes by the thousands! ‘That’ is the market
Very good bike for regional centres, large towns where you might have to go down dirt roads. Ground clearance might limit the brave off road. Adding a top box will make this a very versatile mode of transport.
I like scooters because they make you cute and lovable and non threatening.. basically invisibility to those looking for trouble makers and because they are so cute you can park on sidewalks and at the front door of places without upsetting people or getting police attention… also so fun just scooting around… spend all day exploring your area…..
what’s the top speed? Will it go hi ways 70mph?
I have the ADV 150 🏍 and love it! The 350 would be perfect that extra power with my girlfriend on the back and for highway cruising would be great! I love scooters they’re roomie these models handle extremely well and you can park them anywhere!! I park right by the front door at the grocery store - nobody cares cuz they are so friendly and quiet.
Just subscribed love your channel
Did you read my mind?
I paused the video at 2:00, wrote a comment being happy that we finally saw Dave.....and then I had to delete it.
Getting motorcycle news easier than reading your subscribers' minds, but not by much
:)))))))
Definitely interested in one of these, had the x adv750 far to heavy round town so adv 350 ideal for my commute.
I enjoyed this video. I'm no a scooter rider.. but I secretly admire them.
Finally found an english first-look review of this new bike, thanks!
Projects a very clean cut intellectual positive image
Peter packing, even on a scooter, is a huge no go.
I like it and I'm interested in it. Thanks for sharing that.
I'm not sure what you meant by "No pricing announced yet" as we already have price tag of 6.000 EUR at Honda dealers (in CZ).
Forza 350 costs 6500€ In Croatia, how much is it in CZ? Because I believe adv will cost even more, if not I will definitely consider it over cb500x which is 7200€ in Croatia.
@@robans Forza 350 costs here 6080€. It is the same price as ADV 350. cb500x is in CZ for 6866€
@@JanSevera so we definitely have highest prices in EU, but thats not only for Motorcycles, thats worth for everything
@@robans in the netherlands its 7799 €
@@robans
The price difference between Forza 350 and ADV 350 in UK is 100 pounds, 5600 pounds vs. 5700 pounds.
I believe Honda are showing the 850 Transalp at EICMA this year. I hope you show it on this channel.
tHanks for the video.....Great narration and editing!
Yes, a scooter to zip around town....if it saves me money and keeps me on time....Yup that is a win.
(Gave away a Yamaha 400 from 2015 this week...9,000 miles on it)
Poor Dave the one time he can be in front of the camera he still gets brushed for some random guy #whereisDave
#saveDave
Having had maxi scooter 400 burgman in past they are like armchair comfort. Scooters are good for city or shopping & u can. Leave your bigger bike for proper touring & adventure.
The day I finally get fed up with a clutch and lack of under seat storage, FOR SURE. 🙂👍
What is the advantage of a motorbike over a scooter? The ADV is 50/50, it rides like a motorbike has the storage of a scooter. With the upgraded suspension, it's going to be a game-changer. 2021 Honda sold more ADV 750 than any other model, the times they are a-changing.
as an owner of the adv150 hell yeah ide buy the 350. I hope it comes the usa
Yes, ADV scooters but I need a cargo ADV scooter with compartments to carry my PC/tablet, lunch, and rain gear plus pick up a few groceries on the way home. The selling point of a scooter is daily practicality and not off road adventures in the Swiss Alps. Honda, start thinking out side of the adventure motorcycle box. And, where is the TransAlp???
When it is about an ADV kind of scooter, then the answer is yes. If they also price it properly to be able to serve as the second bike then it would be a blind choice.
Cant wait to be release in my country!!
Nope. Once had an Aprilia Supa Scooter until the mountains taught me what "engine braking" & "smoking brakes" actually mean....
Honda can make a 350 scooter but we can't get Kawasaki to bump up the Versys X300 to they're 400cc.
I owned the Versys X-300, it's a good machine. I also rode the Ninja 400, there is very little difference not worth the update. Get a Versys 650 if you want to feel any difference.
We finally got to see DAVE! Does Dave always ride as a passenger with you or does he sometimes give YOU a ride ;)
I am wanting to sell my BMW K1600GT and then get a scooter as I hit my mid 60's. Downsizing if you will. Definitely interested in this model. Thanks for the look.
Thank you for the videos. If you get a chance to sightsee in Milan (?) how about some video? For example, are there a lot of bikes and scooters on the roads there, or no?
This ADV scooter is a brilliant idea, did Honda create this category?
Specifically a Thailand release date maybe?
I think scooters have their place. This one seems nice.
Aha! The shirt hath returned!!! NOW I recognise you!!!😂😂😂😂
Filmed on the first day, when I still had THE shirt :)))
Great video, EICMA seems pretty poor considering it's the first show in 2 years and no great news from any of the big five manufacturers, KTM, BMW and Ducati were no shows. And No. I don't think the NT1100 is ground breaking
The moto guzzi v100 was only real standout surprise
@@bikerbeliever8169
Wasn't a surprise though, it was unveiled way before eicma
I like the ADV250 but would have been even happier if Honda had brought the CT125 (or the rumored CT150) to Europe.
Actually as a person who is made for motorbikes, I also have a J 300cc Kawasaki to rip around on. It does 90 mph and I literally piss all over bigger bikes. They are cool.
Kawasaki J300 is made by Kymco of Taiwan cuz Kawasaki is not so good at scooter making as Honda or Yamaha, even Kymco or SYM. In fact, Kymco has a twin scooter of J300.
Ever went to a busy city in a hot country? (Spain, south of Italy,...) it full of scooters
Looks like a direct competitor to the Yamaha Xmax. I hope they bring the ADV30 to America. I downsized from my Versys 650. I didn't need the power and the weight.
Xmax is more comfy for cruising with thick pad and longer legroom to dtretch while better wind protection for your knees and thighs. Also, the windscreen is taller for buffeting.
I'm looking for a small adventure moto. This one looks good!
I own a 2002 V-Strom 1000 but if i had the money id buy this for in town, because its smaller and you cand find evrey crack in the traffic to filter, ez maintanace , low cost of maintinace for daily commuting and food delivery. But it will never replace the Strom.
please Honda bring to U.S. I've been in market for new scooter since my Forza 300 was swiped but you have no 'next step'.. yes I'm interested in scooters but the Suzukis bore, the BMW too expensive, the X-Max a contender
Agree. There's a market in the US with the right US targeted marketing message and dealer support.
It really is a shame we don't get more maxi scooters in the US. Apart from the Sym and Kymco's, there are really only 2 choices - BMW C400 and Xmax. I had a couple Burgmans in the past, but they haven't really changed much in 15 years and it appears they aren't bringing the 400 to the US anymore. I would be interested in this one or even better - the X-Adv or Tmax.
Kymco snd SYM from Yaiwan are just as good. Kymco is making 650c.c. engines for BMW while SYM is making scooters for Royal Enfield of UK.
Also, Kawasaki J300 is made by Kymco cuz Kawasaki is not so experienced in making scooters while both Kymco and SYM have been making scooters since early 1970s.
Same here. I have the Forza and beat it up pretty good. I feel exactly about the yamaha n others. I would by this in a heart beat if came to the US. Please honda.
Is it a single or a twin? Is it CVT or DCT transmission?
Yes scooters are interesting, but please don't tell me this is the new Baby AT!
Yea more info on gearbox please :-)
Single, CVT transmission
this is small enough to be a town commuter and big enough to take a short journey on
I don't mind scooters; they make sense for city commuting. But they are just too expensive when you think about an equivalent motorcycle for the same money. My grandma's Hoverround mobility scooter is only $4k, but that doesn't mean I want one.
This review is much appreciated. 👌
Thumbs up for the scooter; I used to have one and loved it.
But a mate has bought a BMW scooter and the service/maintenance costs are ridiculous. What’s the situation re ownership costs for the Honda ? With his BMW, he had to buy a service package for thousands $ in advance, just to make it feasible.
Stay away from Euro bikers cuz they are pirennheas outsides Europe.
The bikes/scooters from Asia are no inferior in quality at better prices. Kymco from Taiwan is the OEM maker of 650 c.c. engines for BMW. SYM of Taiwan is the OEM maker of Royal Enfield scooters of Britain.
We want to see adv 350 stock exhaust noise
it looks super waiting for buy one but price in paris how much it cost?
Finally, the true Xmax killer.
Was that Dave getting on the pillion of the scooter??
Did honda mention the price?
That guy on the right, right at the beggining, looks very suss...looks like he's trying to steal something! Or maybe THAT'S Dave!? 🤣
Do we have a release date yet?
Built for volume sales to support Halfrica Twin build ?
They can put a screen adjustable while on the seat on this 350 but not on the new NT1100, seriously!
Can you do a 2022 Yamaha Super Tenere review. Thanks.
Would love one if they brought them to Canada. From a fellow ZA. :)
How different is this to their Forza350. Is it just longer suspension and a small screen. Is their much difference in price between the 2
Next time please Sh 300 or 350 please
I want a scooter to go to the shops, but the shops are in The Himalayas... why thank you Honda ;-)
More modern scooters please.
someday i have that one
Commuting with style. Yes, I like it. Does it costs less then 5k€?
More like 7k
@@silotx 😳
Scooters are great for practicality and convenience.. so why no phone compartment Honda?
There's one but it was locked as he mentioned in the video.
Oving to the UK soon , is it ok to ride in the UK weathers ?
Yup. I rode for 5 hours today 2 deg - 5 degrees. Heated grips, waterproofs, merino wool base layers, sorted. :)
Weight?
ordered one today.
i already own the sh 350 with same engine and it flies.
Looks good I would have one
Ah yes we all thought we were finally going to meet Dave but alas No Joy
Is the chain tucked away or is it actually a 350cc with a shaft drive ?
Belt drive
No honda transalp??
Nope
@@LongWayHome Lets hope the wait will be worth it...
just take the tuareg! :) It's better and no one will laugh at you because you ride a honda!
@@RaduDavidescu_Bucharest Thats a joke right? I value reliability the most, and as cool as tuareg might seem, in the end of the day its still an Italian made bike (or maybe chinese, i'm not sure). Japonese is the way to go for me!
I like and love it.
Would love the x-adv as a commuter but it’s bonkers expensive - the 350;wouldn’t be great for 120km round trip commute I suspect
Unless your commute is once a week you're doing something wrong...
I would love to have the weather protection of a scooter without the price tag of a large touring motorcycle. But what holds me back from getting a scooter is that I prefer having a gas tank, fake or real, between my knees.
So, buy a gas tank that you like, and strap it on the scooter so you'll have one between your knees.
The gas tank would hurt your crouch hard should you crash.
It's NOT a scooter but a motorbike with some plastic panels.
It still looks too big to my liking so in my opinion the Beverly 300 and 400 and the best choices.
The seating position of Piaggio is too upright thus not so comfy for long range cruising. Meanwhile, Piaggio shares the same engine designs with Vespa with too many electric/electronic glitches over the time, let alone those "cracked" "environmentally friendly" plastic parts being "baked" next to the engines.
Time will tell.
It is a scooter with "twist and go" CVT belt-driven.
Adv 350 cc engine made by pulsar India?
No, the same engine as Forza 350 made in Thailand.
🏁🛵Scooters🛵🏁
Europeans : 🙂
South east asians : 😍
👻🏁Hey; I havent heard about Dave in a longtime.
Scooters !? No; ADV 350 !? Perhaps, why not for downtown.
:D:D:D he's fine in the garage sorting out nuts and bolts.
@@LongWayHome; Good, you have to keep him busy, for he is a Jolly good fellow !
NO ELECTRONICS. i love it. if it came to usa i might buy it. there is no mc or scooter in the world that needs electronic aids.
👍👍👍
4:00 😭😭
hi handsome. nice to see your videos. iam interested and just bought a adv150 usa market. i would use my scooter for small errands and when i can buy a adv350, i would ride to south lake Tahoe, Yosemite national park and to grand canyon usa.
At the time of Forza, the Japanese specification has changed from 350cc to 250cc, and the advantage of power is lost.
The ADV350 will also be a weaker 250cc and will disappoint Japanese riders.
Scooters are perfect for city ride, but please 7000 euro !?!
Small ?????
Please honda bring it to the US! Ill put in a deposit right away
nice, but by far not that nice like the yamaha xmax 300
I am interested if my girlfriend buys one and I can use it to go get groceries every once in a while.
You need a topbox for grocery. The bucket under the seat is not big enough.
Looks okay, but I'm not a scooter guy.
Luv yr dress
Nice scooter, looks like it would be fun to ride just like a fat girl or a moped, you just don't want to be seen on one. Two up on the scooter with a dude sporting a man-bun, thanks for the laugh.
I literally cannot understand why any bike that has less than 100hp comes with Traction Control. Why would you ever need it??? Riding on sheets of ice???? When you've never ridden a bike before??? And you have Parkinson's disease???
Not for me!
So you’re cheating on Dave
I think I'd rather take the bus. 😉
the only reason to buy this crap is that you don't have enough money to buy the real x-adv (large one). If you are really interested in small go anywhere wheels from honda it's no brainer to choose hunter.
Susan. HOMOGENEOUS is NOT the same as HOMOSEXUAL. Can you understand that?
Karen, Isn't a HOMOGENEOUS just a very smart gay person?
@@nightdipper5178 Karen! Like a "Karen"? Transformer? A decepticon!
Don't disappoint me, I have you in high regard.
No, not interested in scooters 🥱
