I subscribed to her channel long before twoset did that video.
She and I started playing around the same time - or at least, she started posting around that time.
For the first six months I felt like we made parallel progress. Then I started shift work & my violin broke. Just recently got it fixed.
I just watched the TwoSetViolin which brought me back to her videos and... man did she ever leave me in the fucking dust.

I actually found her a few videos before I found TwoSet. Her two year progress is amazing. I've just ordered my first Violin. It comes tomorrow. I'm ready for the grind.

Thank you for sharing your story. You are an inspiration. I have a suggestion for you. When you go to bed, take a few deep breaths and go into a meditative state. Then imagine playing your instrument like you have no arthritis or finger problem. Ignore your analytical mind and reason, and like an actor, play the instrument as if you are really playing it. Make it as real as possible...like feel the instrument in your hands, feel the joy, feel it as if it is happening NOW. The feeling is the key. You shouldn't watch it like a movie. You need to feel it like an actor. You got to be relaxed and somewhat drowsy but still conscious while doing this. Repeat it for several nights and watch what happens. This is all science-based, and you will see the results within a few weeks if you are consistent.

It’s so inspiring to see someone who was mostly self-taught play this well after just a few years. I’m gonna get there too. My parents say that I am naturally musical so I hope it helps. :)

All my friends and family tell me that I have no musical talent. But, I can sort of see sound/notes so I am able to tell them without much effort. I am hoping ling ling 40 can do me some good.

Hi! I highly recommend 'Violin Lab Channel' and ProfessorV. Both helped me a lot to get prepared even before I bought a violin. Also, 'Daniel Kurganov, Violinist' has some great advice

Go for it. I am also an adult starting violin player and I know of plenty of other violin players starting from scratch at adulthood.
Don't buy a cheap one, it is better to buy an good quality one even if it is old and battered.

Your playing is beautiful, congratulations on your achievements. You and I started learning the violin at about the same time. I've been watching your videos from the beginning. I started at age 55 and have taken no lessons but still am working at it. You have surpassed me in all aspects of the instrument. Your technique is very good. I wish we lived closer to each other, a few years ago I obtained an original Stroh violin. I think you would be interested to see and play it. But alas, we are far, far apart. Keep up the good work!

I played from age 7 to 12 and didn’t advance too far in Suzuki (book 3 I think) and had not picked a violin up in 30 years. I was so sad at 12 when we moved and my parents wouldn’t continue my lessons. I just recently picked up a friend’s violin and played one note and tears came to my eyes. It was like something was unlocked. I plan on taking lessons again and fulfilling that part of me that was lost

You have a super good technique and good sound quality, but I would recommend you work more on your vibrato, the movement you make is not correct and is very unhealthy
Your vibrato is a bit too tense, try relaxing your fingers a bit and I think you might be making your thumb a bit to tight on the neck which makes your fingers not have the necessary relaxation to make a nice, rich vibrato. Lovely playing, just a suggestion.
