@@adrinycouto1233 yeah, i'm a fan of the books so i know what happens. but i never know what they're going to change, and lestat isn't so obviously acting like that for most of it so who knows. i do love how sam gave us that little moment to stop and think like "is he _really_ fully willingly participating?"

in s1 Lestat was able to hypnotise all the soldiers who he had invited to their house to leave the party with ease and in S2 armand literally stopped time and made the entire coven "fall asleep" with one word. Armand is clearly older and stronger than lestat and all the other vampires in the coven therefore armand could've very easily prevented this whole trial but especially claudia/ madeline's deaths but he didn't and instead created an arrangement that would finally get rid of claudia and villainize lestat enough in louis' eyes that he would be Armand's alone. Kill 2 birds with one stone and have Louis all to himself. It's all bullshit and I dont believe Armand one bit!

Okay so while this ep was agony for us all and we all love to say the show was designed to hurt us as a personal attack I am LITERALLY the lion zookeeper at Audubon so everyone is valid but this ep was truly designed to hurt ME SPECIFICALLY (but love and share your pain, Autumn, thank you for the catharsis, love your vids SO MUCH!!)

I share your theory that Lestat helped save Louis and Armand had choices remember. I think Lestat was more heartbroken than he thought he would be, which is kind of sad and poetic. He actually loved her. He realized in the end.
@@EmeraldRoseDragon he never liked her imo. He took every opportunity to degrade her treat her like a child especially after finding out their secret. @@spiritsage3921 I really feel like that was him laid the foundation for the coven to take the blame. @@EmeraldRoseDragon as far as Lestat and Claudias relationship there was a thin line between love and hate for each other but I think after she died I think he realized he loved her more than he thought he did.
I hope we see Lestat's POV during the trial especially when he was staring at Claudia. Not sure if I was just mishearing but I think Claudia said Uncle Les before she turned ash
Every week, this show is an emotional nuke directed right to the heart. It's the most brilliantly written and performed TV show on the air right now. I send hugs over Claudia's death! We as the fandom mourn her all over again. There's one more episode for the season - and you know Louis will make them PAY.
I think the reason they put Claudia in the rat box was BECAUSE she was part of the coven. Yeah, they had a problem with Louis, but he was a lone vampire, not in the coven. Claudia had taken an oath when she joined the coven, and she broke them. That probably is cause for worse punishment in their eyes. She should have never joined that coven and left with Louis when he asked her to.
Plus, if he was quoting laws, he would've had to admit there were vampires back in France where he came from. Which I'm pretty sure he said there weren't any (aside from revenants). I think?
@@NicoleM_radiantbabyno, he never denied there being vampires in Europe. In fact, he told them more than once that they were vicious, "a society of monsters", and that they would tear Claudia to strips. He never went into detail because he wanted to shield Louis and Claudia from them, but he definitely told them they existed, and that they were monsters.
So happy that you're back!!!This episode was just amazing! and it was such an emotional wreck (very painful to watch too, Madeleine choosing Claudia made me cry so much). I have not been okay!! since watching it. But..The season 3 announcement cheered me up a bit ! Very excited for that. ❤
I genuinely almost started crying in the airport thinking about the episode; got me fucked up real bad. Glad I can share the trauma with everyone else now!!
Autumn, firstly, my thanks and appreciation for your family's contribution to your intro segment. I think that bit of levity before this episode was needed. Secondly, I just have to say Ben's performance as L'Advocat Santiago was pure brilliant pantomime. With Sam and Ben playing off well as dualing divas (Move over Carlotta and Christine! - Phantom reference.), there was great performances all round! When Anne wrote this book while still experiencing the near grief of losing her daughter, she wanted her readers to experience that profound loss as well. I think it may have also helped bring Stan & Anne closer together. There's a startling statistic that 3/4 of marriages will end in divorce or experience marital difficulty when one of their children (in this case, only child at the time). Anne was raised Catholic so I don't think it would end in divorce but if she hadn't written down what she was feeling, Stan might've found it harder to connect with her. The writers did a phenomenal job with this in 2 short seasons. Great reaction, Autumn, thank you! For those who have read the books, we look forward to the final episode this season with righteous indignation. Thank goodness, there's a season 3. I just hope we don't have to wait till 2026 to see it.
I think Lestat tried to save her in the last moment but was stopped - and Armand is withholding that - making it sound like Lestat coldheartedly watched Claudia burn.
Lestat was being controlled by the coven too. You can see him swaying and wobbling in the background just before they open the sun on Claudia as if they were subduing him so he couldn't help
Madeleine didn’t deserve that at all. She just loved claudia. And she was scared. “Are we in trial” she’s had an hard life, was on trial after the war, and continuously punished for being a human in a war time. It’s so sad.
I should’ve gone to the doctor for the whiplash I suffered when Real Rashid and Lestat were in the same shot! How much has Louis seen Lestat through the whole show? What is going on!?
YAY!! Been waiting on this since watching the episode because the whole experience isn’t complete until you drop your reaction to it 😉. I absolutely love beautiful ass Armand but omg after this episode I am filled with so many mixed emotions ahhh I can’t take it!!! As always I thoroughly enjoyed this and can’t wait for your interview with Sam!
I'll be back to comment on the episode but I skipped to the end to see who it was and I almost spit-taked my coffee. AHHHH LITTLE BABY SAM. 🥰🥳☺🥺 I am 1000% into women but I have eyes and a little bit of gender envy and his voice is so deep it vibrated my soul. I now know why Jacob is obsessed with him. How are you not a puddle on the floor? I know, you're a pro by now, but still!!!!! SAMMMMM. Okay. Okay. I'm going to watch the rest of the video now. Sorry for being embarrassing. Will happen again!
Oh trust me, it took all of my willpower to keep my atoms from dissipating when he said my “do you think that’s really necessary, AUTUMN”; him saying my name was an addition on his part and that alone nearly killed me.
You know, after watching this again and fully realizing this is from Louie's altered perspective and when we get the actual memory we see Lestat pushing until he bleeds to save Louie makes me think he might have tried for Claudia too and pulled back like ooo this is really hard. If i save her. I wont have anything left to save Louie with. And as Claudia said, she was never put first by either of them. He chose to pull back and save his full effort for Louie. He wasnt at full strength and was visibly unwell to me. Previously i thought it was mental stress, i forgot how weak he was after the attempted murder. Armand would have been stronger than him as would some of the other theater vampires who were older. Man now i need to reread the Vampire Lestat and watch the show again! 😭
I've been rewatching a lot after the finale too and I 100% believe Armand communicates telepathically with Lestat throughout the trial to keep him in line. Maybe Lestat did try to save Claudia, and ironically, it was Armand who prevented him. Or like you say, he realized how hard it was, and had to make a choice between saving Claudia or Louis. Sadly, the choice was clear. Also, at the end, when Claudia and Madeleine are on the center of the stage, there's a shot where, just for one second, you can see Lestat clearly freaked out by what is about to happen. He didn't wanna be there. I can't wait for his pov on the trial, I'm sure it's gonna tell a very different story.
Lol I’m not gonna lie; there not a lot of analysis going on in this one- mainly just heartbreak and tears and questioning “why god why”, but I can’t wait to hear from you when you’re off work!
The amount of crying that I’ve done over this episode and over your reaction is so wild…didn’t think I had so many tears to shed …perspective is the key word for this episode. @@MxMelissa6she went from loving their "vampire pride", saying she never wanted to hunt alone again, and telling Louis to mind his business when he warned her they were dangerous, to "fuck these vampires". Maybe she should have listened to Lestat and Louis in the first place.
Valid points. Claudia is a flawed character, much like the rest of the vampires in this universe. Should she have listened to the warnings? Yup! But it can be hard to see the reality when feeling the elation of being a part of community.

Masterful episode…I think we are going to see Armand tell the TVA version of events. The fact he tried to reanimate Claudia will cause Louis to capitulate and leave for good. There has been foreshadowing with him asking the question what if she had a woman’s body…The preview seems to go there too.
I think Lestat's penance for creating Claudia was participating in the trial. Also, he knew that Louis' life was in serious danger, and though he probably couldn't save Claudia, he could save Louis.
😢 the special VFX or CGI or whatever thing they threw in there to have the scene where we can see Claudia & Madeline got burnt, roasted, and turned to ashes is so well done! Watching the entire scene of it happened on screen is actually heart breaking 💔
8:31 At first I was wondering why everyone was so shocked and worried about this I was like she's a vampire and they're rats she can handle herself She could probably even have a decent meal But I guess it would be kind of scary and gross
when lestat appeared in present day dubai, i almost lost my mind. this show just threw the narrative in the audience's faces and asked, 'are you sure that we're getting an objective point of view here?' and then when i saw the playwright sam guarding armand, i almost laughed - surely we're not to believe that he could stop armand at all, and then to see him helping to put louis in the coffin at the same time? suspicion. i don't think this episode will ever not make me cry. i was sniffling along with you at the end. this was a fantastic episode and i'm glad to share the trauma with you. and i am waiting in anticipation for your interview with the vampire, because once this season is over, i am hibernating until season three.
When we see Sam's guarding Armand, we also see (especially in the first shot of him there) that he's holding scythe. The coven is also slow a few times to silence outbursts from Claudia and Louis and Lestat going off-script. What if Armand's achilles tendons were also cut, so he'd be slow enough Sam really could behead him with that scythe? What if the coven was also doing mental battle on Armand? When we see Lestat in S1 make all the soldiers leave the home, he gets a nose bleed. Armand is stronger, but this is a larger building with many more people with heightened emotions. It's believable he couldn't pull the banishment hypnosis trick enough to save all three of them. And if he let Claudia live but not Madeline, Claudia really would throw herself into a fire like Armand told Madeline she eventually would, and that might have been even worse for Louis's mental health. If this happened, would you forgive Armand? I do.
@@AutumnBottomBrown honestly good it’s needed, people are saying Jenna please stfu up about this show and I say NO I will be coming to your house and making you watch it on Netflix with me!

@@adrinycouto1233🤔🤔🤔 so Armand and Santiago 😮are doing the controlling? I’m more curious about Sam now also?!? Like really he is going to “hold Armand back” by standing there? Something is not right here.
@@adrinycouto1233which book is this in? I read them years ago but can't remember this. I'm rereading them now but only halfway through The Vampire Lestat
I rewatched episode for maybe 4 times now, and I'm still flipp off my screen every time Armand opens his moth
Lmao and I’m an Armand lover!!! But that love has officially been tested and cracks have been found!!
Lord, these actors....such stunning work from everyone. This episode ripped my heart from my chest, chucked it a blender, and hit "puree."
They will be trading Emmy’s like Pokémon cards if I have my way
in s1 Lestat was able to hypnotise all the soldiers who he had invited to their house to leave the party with ease and in S2 armand literally stopped time and made the entire coven "fall asleep" with one word. It's all bullshit and I dont believe Armand one bit!
in lestat's defense, although he WAS able to do that in s1, he's INCREDIBLY weak right now, and i don't believe would have that power at this point in time. i genuinely don't think there's much he could do here to help louis and claudia. just look at the way he's swaying and blacking out during the trial in those wide shots. i think there's some mind control going on here (alongside the fact that he's obviously still not healed and could reeeeaallllyyy use some ancient blood to sip on right now)
@@techi4584 same!! I think Armand might be torturing him mentally the way the rest of the coven is torturing Louis and Claudia as well! I definitely feel like lestat was forced into this and the only time we see his true self is when he goes off script. Also I don’t believe anything after Louis was taken away lol Armand is so obviously shady I can’t believe louis can’t see it even after 70 years 💀 it took Daniel DAYS to figure out he’s full of shit
Armand was in the box, or maybe the director’s chair? Don’t trust him! Lestat was proud of his daughter’s courage which slowly turned into horror.
@shivanijoshi9252 being psychically suppressed on top of presumably being imprisoned, tortured and starved for I suspect years. He stood no chance unfortunately
@@janicedrew9782fr, the writer and director next to each other? Sus
58:20 - THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I SAID ON TUMBLR! If Arnand wasn't a selfish ass and teamed up with Lestat instead of trying to sabotage him, THEY COULD HAVE TAKEN THE WHOLE COVEN OUT TOGETHER EASY. But nooooo. He wouldn't want that. He wants Louis to hate Lestat.
uhmmm, i think the zen tree is there to control Louis's anger/rage...when Claudia was killed/murdered by the coven, his fire gift magnified and became uncontrollable...that's why Ragland said "it's not Armand you should fear, it's the other one"...
Interesting theory there 🤔

@@AutumnBottomBrown missed you autumn, your videos make me happy (and sometimes depressed but let's not talk about that). Keep up the good work. You're my idol fr, I'm seriously thinking of starting like a podcast or some form of content creation to do with the vampire chronicles because of you.
I share your theory that Lestat helped save Louis and Armand had choices remember. I think Lestat was more heartbroken than he thought he would be, which is kind of sad and poetic. He actually loved her. He realized in the end.
He said he had choices, which I highly doubt. Lestat always loved Claudia he just got to the point he didn't really like her
@@EmeraldRoseDragon he never liked her imo. He took every opportunity to degrade her treat her like a child especially after finding out their secret. He might have started to feel a little bad because of his developing relationship with Louis but I think he has these vampire laws very much ingrained in him. He tried to warn Louis multiple times get the hell out of Paris but Louis wouldn’t listen he thought he would get his way by trying to be a dominant to Armand.
@@spiritsage3921 I really feel like that was him laid the foundation for the coven to take the blame. Armand said he fought the coven when he went to Louis after Madeleine's turning but they stayed instead of leaving. Really feels like he'd push Louis to leave after that if he really felt in danger.
@@EmeraldRoseDragon I’m curious to learn more about what ‘choices’ he made leaving cause it’s very intentionally vague right now. I’m so torn cause I don’t think it would be anything so bad that Louis would forgive him.

I really roll my eyes when Armand talks about others molding Louis to suit themselves like he hasn't done the same. 🙄😬
Ain't no way Lestat was quoting the laws. That rulebreaker? Nah!
This show needs awards all around.

I am so happy for you! I can’t wait to see the interview with Sam. I know you’re going to kill it!
I think Lestat tried to save her in the last moment but was stopped - and Armand is withholding that - making it sound like Lestat coldheartedly watched Claudia burn.
That's my thought too
Lestat was being controlled by the coven too. You can see him swaying and wobbling in the background just before they open the sun on Claudia as if they were subduing him so he couldn't help
@@IndieRockerHippy We got explanation for this in the finale episode. No spoilers but there was other reason for his sudden illness.

Madeleine didn’t deserve that at all. She just loved claudia. And she was scared. “Are we in trial” she’s had an hard life, was on trial after the war, and continuously punished for being a human in a war time. It’s so sad.

The amount of crying that I’ve done over this episode and over your reaction is so wild…didn’t think I had so many tears to shed …perspective is the key word for this episode. The way I went from loving and hating Louis, Lestat, and even Armand…😵 Claudia deserved so much more than this tragic end. She was right, “Fuck these vampires!”
Also….SAM REID!!!!!! I will not survive that video…
I've been waiting for your reaction all week. I like viewing the show with you.
“I’m gonna choke you out like you did to our daughter” was actually 100% fair. No idea if it was real but honestly I’d be with louis on that one.
Yeah, vampire Sam would be the one ultimate obstacle on Armands way. Cause vampire Sam is the ancient most powerful vampire in the theatre, right?

Masterful episode…I think we are going to see Armand tell the TVA version of events. The fact he tried to reanimate Claudia will cause Louis to capitulate and leave for good. There has been foreshadowing with him asking the question what if she had a woman’s body…The preview seems to go there too.
omg sam next? please be jacob in the finale, please!!!
i have been EAGERLY awaiting your reaction omg 😍
I think Lestat's penance for creating Claudia was participating in the trial. Also, he knew that Louis' life was in serious danger, and though he probably couldn't save Claudia, he could save Louis.
😢 the special VFX or CGI or whatever thing they threw in there to have the scene where we can see Claudia & Madeline got burnt, roasted, and turned to ashes is so well done! Watching the entire scene of it happened on screen is actually heart breaking 💔
Louis face when Lestat said Louis was hunting him was hilarious and if someone hurt my kid I'd probably snap too
8:31
At first I was wondering why everyone was so shocked and worried about this
I was like
she's a vampire and they're rats she can handle herself
She could probably even have a decent meal
But I guess it would be kind of scary and gross
Probably the visceral disgust of being trapped and overrun by rats
when lestat appeared in present day dubai, i almost lost my mind. this show just threw the narrative in the audience's faces and asked, 'are you sure that we're getting an objective point of view here?' and then when i saw the playwright sam guarding armand, i almost laughed - surely we're not to believe that he could stop armand at all, and then to see him helping to put louis in the coffin at the same time? suspicion. i don't think this episode will ever not make me cry. i was sniffling along with you at the end. this was a fantastic episode and i'm glad to share the trauma with you. and i am waiting in anticipation for your interview with the vampire, because once this season is over, i am hibernating until season three.
I do.
His voice alone clear all my mental illness
Been hiking the whole day, I now will indulge in an hour of my favourite insanity while resting my feet. Best day ever frfr

@@princessmiaxo What I mean is that they meant to make it seem like Louis was the one that created Claudia but he and Claudia can still speak with each other, when Lestat couldn't. I was confused.
@Lio032980 Louis was never the one to create Claudia though, and that was clear in both his and Lestat's versions. I mean this as nicely as possible, but did you watch this in the background or something?
@@princessmiaxo I probably wasn't keen on it. The scene when Louis begs Lestat to do it for him was more revealing for me than it probably should have.
@Lio032980 Fair enough. There are a lot of things that can only be caught on a 2nd or even 3rd rewatch, for example I didn't catch that we could actually SEE Antoinette on the streetcar in s1e7 until my 3rd rewatch. Lots of nice foreshadowing bits in this show!
