Jeannie your whispering was hilarious, and I literally laughed out loud when the baby woke up everytime you laid her down. 😂😂 My babies were the same way! You did so good for that being your first time. Just remember that you only have to take off the bottom half of the onesie when changing diapers (it makes life so much easier), and always burp the baby after a bottle. Singing to the baby or playing gentle lullabies or white noise usually calms a crying baby. Other than that, great job! It'll be much easier when it's your own baby. Your going to rock as a mama! 💪🏾
Oh, I almost forgot to mention this! A little diaper changing trick I've learned along the way, is to open the clean diaper and place it underneath the one that's going to be removed first, then carefully slide the dirty one from underneath them. That way, if the baby pees or poops during a change, it'll immediately fall into the clean diaper, and not dirty up the changing pad, clothes, etc. 👍🏾 If you have a boy, cover with a cloth or shield with a diaper so that he doesn't pee in your face! 😆

This was the cutest thing to watch! I don't have any kids, but I grew up taking care of 7 out of 10 nieces and nephews that I have, from newborn to school age. For this to have been your first time taking care of a baby, you did an amazing job and the fact that she fell asleep with you, means she felt safe enough to do so. You are going to be a great mom and I can't wait to see how you are with your own baby.
You did amazing. Coming from someone that babysat her whole life it’s way more stressful when it’s someone else’s little one. You don’t know their cries, but as long as you’re calm it’ll work out just like you were. When it’s your baby you know the different sounds. All the cries don’t sound the same.
Is funny to hear that all the cries dont Sound de same. Watching my little ones back then, Hunger cry is louder, pee cry is discomforting, sleep cry might be unsteady. Just trying to remember
@@paschalu5163 Here in Toledo we have them. I know a few young mothers that said it really helped them. I honestly think it's just taking the initiative to find them.
I was impressed! You were intuitive, paid attention to her mood and her body, and figured it out in your own way. Especially when you haven't been around infants much, I think you are going to take to motherhood beautifully! I have one sweet ass tip after watching this. 1. If you need hot water, use your coffee maker and don't add coffee, A Keurig will give you hot water in seconds!
16:29 Just kidding. I was just kidding lmao girlll That is MOM LIFE! 😂 You did sooo good. Once your baby comes it will be totally different. Your baby will know you are it’s mommy ♥️
Your body language, baby will sense (might be why she was stiff). You held her always facing away from your face- she's trying to read you as well. Breath calmly and steadily. Please keep baby away from hard slippery surfaces and stay close to ground since this is new to you. It's fine to be scared, don't stay there as your child will be scared as well. Ask for help always. My Mom (now late) was magnificent- my newborn was crying and I'd changed & fed her yet still she was crying/screaming, then I sat with her crying. My Mom swooped her grandbaby up in her arm and held her firm and close. My baby immediately stopped. I cried even harder. While holding her grandbaby, she told me to calm down, the baby can feel/sense your tenseness. Her grandbaby (only one she knew of for 8 years) is now 35 and her other is 26. Relax! You will learn the baby's (your's) communication. Positive blessing on your family. Cradle cap is the flaking. (I also own a 24/7 childcare business for 14 years and adore children).
you did really good jeannie. i’m a first time mom at 33 years old and my baby girl is almost 18 months. For me, the first 6-8 weeks was the absolute hardest but it will get easier before you know it. That was clever to rock the mini bed as you tried to put the baby in it. That will help the baby to continue sleeping after trying to put them down. I will tell you what works for one baby may not work for the other. People will try to criticize but you do what your instincts tell you to do. As a mom, you will understand your baby more than anyone else but always do what your gut tells you. It’s okay to take others advice but at the same time, do your own research and listen to the pediatrician. It’s also important to rotate roles with hubby and work as a team so you guys do not overwhelm and become frustrated with each other. You got this !!!!!! Congrats
This was sooo cute and funny to watch. As a first time mom this is how EVERYONE feels at first. You just stare at them like “what are we gonna do?” And it does get easier it just takes time to get to know your baby. You did great! Talking to the baby and engaging in conversation is so good! Even when they have no clue what you’re saying. You’re going to be such a great mom Jeannie ❤️
Baby Kaya is so adorable!!! 🥰🥰 You did a great job at trying to calm baby and talk/walk with her through it all! Babies are no small feat but your maternal instincts and communication won't fail you! You got this!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Respect for being pregnant and baby sitting a baby. You did well. Just trust that you'll be the best match for your baby. It's all a learning curve as you parent.
Such a cute episode 🥰 Great job troubleshooting not being able to work the microwave but still getting the baby fed. You did great Jeannie and baby J is lucky to have you
You did amazing Jeanie! It's definitely hard being a first time mom. I'm almost 8 yrs into the game. Good trick to get them to go to sleep after a feeding is to pat their butts while holding them. It mimics the movement of the womb.
If RUclips had a laughing button, I would press it a million times! Lol!!!! You are so hilarious Jeannie! I literally laughed through the whole thing, not so much of making fun of you but merely because of your innocence to watching a newborn. Lol. It was so entertaining especially with all of your eye rolling. Lmao! You're going to be an awesome mom! Everyone has their own ways and being judgmental, but do what works for you and your baby. Every baby is different and as a first time mom also, you learn as you go. There will be good days and there will be bad/hard days, but you get through it! I can't wait to see your next adventure/journey with baby! Xoxo
I have twins and here’s a trick I personally like to use when it comes to diaper changes with boys. I like to open the fresh diaper and place it under the dirty diaper. Clean the baby and then switch the diaper out. You’ll already have the fresh open diaper under the baby and wouldn’t have to worry about trying to open it and praying they don’t pee on you or there clothes. Lol You’re going to be an awesome mommy.
I’m doneee with Jeannies funny comments, saying “thicckk girl” to the breast milk 🤣🤣 you did great girl! Will be an amazing mom. So gentle and calm, yet quick on your feet!
Jeannie.... Jeannie...you did amazing and one thing about it with a new mom you learn as you go because no two babies are the same you and your little one will be learning each other.. that's what makes the memories so beautiful
You're right. I had to take care of my nephew for the first year when he was born- His mom was suffering from postpartum depression so I had to step in and take care of my nephew. I have never had a baby before, but I was shocked that I did great- my mother instincts kicked in. Today my nephew is 12 years old and he calls me Memaw.
You did a fantastic job for a first timer....sometimes we mums dont know why our babies cry, we guess and try different approaches untill we eventual get our babies to sleep....so dont worry...Fantastic job
For real, I was impressed with u! I felt ur instincts were dead on! I can tell u r a very intuitive person, it showed! Best wishes to u and urs as u continue on this motherhood journey! U got this, I believe!
Jeannie I'm not a mom but I think you're doing great! You just started and it will take time to learn! I used to be a preschool teacher and I was terrified but I learned so much in my years and kids will love whoever takes care of them as long as you show love, caring, understanding, and kindness which we have seen you show since you announced your pregnancy. This baby is going to be so lucky to have you as a mom. It may be tough but you'll do a great job just from wanting to learn how to care for your baby ❤️
Love the honesty in how you handled this! Funny, relatable & vulnerable. Babysitting is stressful lol. I’m sure a lot of ppl new parents or not can relate. I’m no parent, I’m an auntie of 3 and became an aunt at age 7 lol. Each kid is different but there’s beauty in building the relationship mistakes and all. I can tell that you lead with love, strength & humor, you’re already on the right path 🧡
You did good.. few points: 1- practice on how to hold a baby right while walking or standing .. 2- after your baby sleeps stay at the same position for a little while just to make him/her go deeper in sleep so he/she is not waking easily ( that will give you a little more sleep or time for your self also ) ..3- keep the top part of the onesy while you changing pampers it’s just easier 🤷🏻♀️ ..4- love every part of this phase, they are growing and changing so fast ! it’s sometimes sad like chill why the rush 🥺.. 5- excuse my bad English I’m learning 😊🌹.. sending LOVE from KSA to your beautiful soul 😘
I'm so sorry for laughing at you, seeing you so clueless and amazed at everything 😂❤ You'll be a great mother Jeannie, babies don't come with instructions but you'll know exactly what to do with your own trust yourself ❤
This was an emotional roller coaster for me to watch😂... I went from being scared, to being nervous to laughin' hella hard! Jeannie, you did a good job and you'll do great with your baby.
When u said that you are learning to communicate without words that is exactly right so it's so important to be face to face so u can see her and she could see u. At the end when she was falling asleep wait till she is rock solid sleeping no eye movment no finger movment that means she is in the deepest phase of sleeping so she will not feel you moving her into the bed from the arms. You will have a totally different experience with your own its a totally different feeling! Good luck mama!!
Jeanie you did great! In the moments when she started crying while putting her down for sleep it’s best to have a pacifier around so you can give it to them! That usually helps them go right back to sleep
By the time I had my 1st child my older sister already had a 4 year old and 6 month old so I called her for everything. The babys mom is going to be a great reference. Be prepared to be tired but enjoy it all because it goes by quickly. My oldest is graduating from high school next year and it seems like he was a toddler just yesterday💕

I laughed the whole time, watching this. You did great for the first time!! When your wiping babies wipe down instead of up just like you would do on yourself 🙂
My first child is 5 months old now. No one tells you how hard being a mom can be, but you've got this Jeannie! Just go down the checklist of diaper change, hungry, sleepy, has she been burped, is she overly tired, check her fingers and toes for random things getting wrapped around that would normally be hard to see. The first 3 to 4 months are truly tough because of lack sleep but you got it! and remember as hard as it will be in those moments it dies get easier, just take it day by day!
You liter made my cry after "I am only going to learn through love,,,, followed up by a kiss" .... I am a mother of two a 16 & 22 yr old.the first months of my motherhood were so tough, I hated it, but they are fine now one graduating with a BA in Psychology, and the other a Jr in HIS, they are well and alive so that' tosses my first months of motherhood out the door!! You are going to be A OK! 🥰
The moment ALL the clothes came off to change the diaper I knew I'll like this. Then she said, use your inside voice n I died. Putting her down was hard but I love your indoor voice and closing her eyes......you'll be fine ma
You did great Jeannie. In my limited experience babysitting my niece and nephew, when a baby cries, the cause is usually one of the following: they are hungry, or they need a diaper change, or they have gas, or they just want to be held. The gassy cry was the worst in my experience because it causes them great discomfort, you can help by burping them after a meal, and there are also massage techniques that you can learn to help them burp or fart it out. Also it was really nice of you to babysit while pregnant!
So how'd I do?
you did your best dear
Lol you did great! I honestly didn't talk as much to my newborn, I was pretty much in auto pilot. Feed, change, nap, repeat.

You did amazing as a first timer Jeannie! You'll get even better with practice and with your own baby because you'll be less anxious. Those maternal instincts will go into overdrive and before long it will be a breeze!
I love how you talked with her and had actual conversations with her ❤ you are going to be a great mom!
Baby care should be a training, people should attend. If not it can be breath taking
@@paschalu5163 Here in Toledo we have them. I know a few young mothers that said it really helped them. I honestly think it's just taking the initiative to find them.
How cute is baby Kaiya!! Also btw wipe baby girls downward away from her bits... I loved the tone you used when speaking to her!! Good job Jeannie!!
Great advice. I was thinking the same thing
Yes I heard wiping boys r different from girls, from down to up or vice versa
Yes even for adults wiping back to front would cause UTIs
I was impressed! You were intuitive, paid attention to her mood and her body, and figured it out in your own way. Especially when you haven't been around infants much, I think you are going to take to motherhood beautifully! I have one sweet ass tip after watching this.
1. If you need hot water, use your coffee maker and don't add coffee, A Keurig will give you hot water in seconds!
You were perfect!
I'm 31 with 4 little ones.
When you went to put her down & said "just kidding" hahahaha that was too funny.
Great advice I'm learning so much. 💓❤️💕
you did really good jeannie. i’m a first time mom
at 33 years old and my baby girl is almost 18 months.
Thank u for this sweet sweet comment!
Baby Kaya is so adorable!!! 🥰🥰 You did a great job at trying to calm baby and talk/walk with her through it all! Babies are no small feat but your maternal instincts and communication won't fail you! You got this!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
On top of Jeezy has good amount of kids I heard
My heart dropped in my stomach when Jeannie tripped. Thank God baby and aunty are safe. Great job Jeannie. You are going to be a Great Mom.❤️❤️
Respect for being pregnant and baby sitting a baby. You did well. Just trust that you'll be the best match for your baby. It's all a learning curve as you parent.
All I saw was love patience and sweetness. She’s alive so you did good! Blessings for a safe delivery!
Jeannie is adorable. Kaya is like wth lady 😂... I can't wait to see baby J
😂 take it one day at a time. You’re going to be a great mom Jeannie ❤️
Trying to get her to sleep was freaking hilarious 🤣 definitely don’t want any over here but it’s so cute watching you learn
Every time I thought I got it, she said surprise, nope! 😂😭
Xoxo
I was laughing the entire video
15:39 "Wow, I really like your eyelashes. Are they Ardell?" 🤣🤣🤣 That was hilarious. I love it.
A baby swing saved my arms with my second baby. It's also so relaxing for them. 🥰
As others have mentioned, it's much easier with your own because they will KNOW you are their Mommy.
I’m doneee with Jeannies funny comments, saying “thicckk girl” to the breast milk 🤣🤣 you did great girl! Will be an amazing mom. So gentle and calm, yet quick on your feet!
OMG, I am cracking up. This is too cute! You're going to be such a wonderful mommy!
Jeannie.... Jeannie...you did amazing and one thing about it with a new mom you learn as you go because no two babies are the same you and your little one will be learning each other.. that's what makes the memories so beautiful
Jeannie not knowing how to open her microwave is top tier entertainment 😅
I love how she's like I'll get the pot when there's a kettle behind her.
I was confused. I legit asked if that was someone else's house😂
@@fayepatrice1672 Me 2!!!😂 I'm like gurl....u must Not Cook!!!😳
Ssssoooooo funny!!! Lol
When you have babe J both of your natural instincts will kick in and you will know exactly what to do. You guys will do great!! ❤️
So true, those mom vibes are a blessing. I had only the desire to love which guide me. J you can do this. You got this!
I freaking died laughing!!😂
I was so scared she was going to drop the baby but she did really good and kept calm the whole time 🙌
Me too!!
OMG!!! I hope these videos stay available so she can see her and Auntie when she get older....simply adorable🥰💞
Bless her heart, she has no clue but she’s going to be a great Mom because she’s going to be so pure hearted in her motherhood approach
Soooo funny! She is clueless! Thank God she has Mama Mai ❤ 🙏 💓 and a very big heart full of love to give her baby.
Sometimes it just depends on the baby lol
Ok if you are going to give advice make sure you learn your English…. Cause you can give the wrong 😑 advice … written speaking.
She didn't write anything down lol, Jeannie be everyone learns as they go along. This is such a good baby. You will be a great mom.
You did great! You’re gonna be an AWESOME mom! Once Baby J is here, it’s gonna come soooo natural! You got this girlie!
I love this video!! I was smiling and laughing the whole time. She is such a cutie 😍
Lol 😄 she said hers looks different than hers. Who caught that?
The talking was cute. 😍
I DID ,TOO FUNNY,HERS LOOK DIFFERENT THAN HERS 🤣😅😂😅🤣😂
Hilarious! And then she said, why does it stink!!🤣🤣🤣
Jeannie, it’s a learn while you go thing. You got this mama! Don’t be nervous and overwhelmed, it’ll all come along ❤️
it’s the sniff kisses at the end for me! You’re already killing it Jeannie!! Mama jean jean in the works
You did amazing, you were not phased at all when she would cry. A baby carrier is going to be your best friend when trying to do anything
You did great! Love that you remained calm and tried different things to soothe the baby. You are an amazing mom! I wish you well.
I give you props for watching someone else’s baby while pregnant. I was completely off limits to everyone while I was pregnant 😂
This was funny!!! We all had to learn and pivot . What works today may not work tomorrow. It took me back to the newborn stages !!! Good job girl...
Not Jeanine undressing the baby completely to change her diaper 😆 ❤️
Jeanie you did great! In the moments when she started crying while putting her down for sleep it’s best to have a pacifier around so you can give it to them! That usually helps them go right back to sleep
I hate pacifiers.I raised both my kids without pacifiers.
@@jeanninequarles2620 that’s lovely for you but most babies like them so
By the time I had my 1st child my older sister already had a 4 year old and 6 month old so I called her for everything. The babys mom is going to be a great reference. Be prepared to be tired but enjoy it all because it goes by quickly. My oldest is graduating from high school next year and it seems like he was a toddler just yesterday💕
Jeannie Mai , lam so proud of you. Congratulations on your marriage and becoming a first time mom. You did good baby sitting. Once your motherly instant kick in, you will know what to do with your own baby. Trust in yourself and God will guide you through it. You will be a awesome mom. God bless.
It the reading the cook book for me! That was awesome! Good job you will get there.
Jeannie holding on to the baby for dear life
I laughed the whole time, watching this. You did great for the first time!! When your wiping babies wipe down instead of up just like you would do on yourself 🙂
Watching this made me so excited to see you with your baby 😍 you stayed so calm & patient you’re so ready!
You literally will be the best mom! We all do shit backwards sideways and upside down! As long as a child feels loved and safe. Who gives! ♥️🙏🏾✨
So proud of you Jeannie!!!!!!! Practice makes perfect. You’re going to be an amazing mom.
Such a precious baby! Love how she looks at her mom 🥺💞
