Zach, you are doing good work! I’m a pastor, not full preterist…actually call myself an optimistic amillennialist. But you’re part of an eschatological reformation - keep listening!
Notice the verses in John 8 you read today. He compares it with the works of their Father the devil trying to kill him just as their father did. I believe it is the false king and kingdom of Herod who also tried to kill Jesus in Matt 2:16-18. Thought it might be a cool connection.
The persecution began at Pentecost with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on all the elect Jews and non-Jews, the separation of the righteous from the unrighteous. At the end came the great tribulation in the Jewish-Roman wars of 66-70 AD. A question for Mr. Zach: Do you believe in the literal birth of Jesus in the young woman or virgin Mary, and in the Holy Spirit descending on Jesus at the Jordan (the birth of Jesus Matthew 18:25, Luke 1:26-38). And behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming upon him. And behold, a voice from heaven said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased (Matthew 3:13-17). Thank you!
Doesn’t Romans 8:28 refer to all the things that Paul has been talking about throughout the previous eight chapters working together for good? I have heard so many preachers quote this verse in church and it appears to work fine for most people but suppose somebody has just had a stillborn child, or a husband killed in a car crash etc etc, is that really an example God working for their good? Years ago, that was one thing that first led me to really start digging into the Bible for myself because I just did not agree with that, that’s not the God I worship. I love listening to Zak, so blessed to be able to, but there’s just something to consider today. Even if we are blessed to have an awesome teacher like this, we must still read the Bible for ourselves.
Grew up in a Church of Christ. Found a different fellowship. Felt that comment to my core😉

The scripture about the wheat and fares is what started my journey into preterism.
