As a tall girl (180 cm) I know how this feels when I dated an Asian guy who was a head shorter than me. People looked at us as if we were aliens or something lol. I think it's harder for short guys than short girls. Some might feel self conscious and not want to date taller women.

I don't know where you are but it's not so uncommon here in the US especially with Asian girls and white guys. My Filipina grandma is 5'2 and my grandpa is 6'2. I myself (6') come from a tall family since my dad is German/Scandinavian. So, we tower over grandma when we are with her and when we visit Asia.

At first it’s embarrassing and I get shy and it almost damaged our social life but I got used to it later on and embraced our differences and the stares we get and things got better. I feel like people were paying more attention to the fact that the dude is really tall than the weight difference per se. Reason being that she's not that short compared to other korean women, the dude is really tall tho, so everyone would end up looking either way.
She’s still short though, she looks about 140 - 145 cm range in height, average height for Korean women is 165 if I remember correctly. She’s at least a head size shorter than every woman who walked past them. But her shortness is amplified by his height, it wouldn’t be that noticeable if she stood next to a girl 15 cm taller
