Imagine being a dead rat suddenly revived out of your slumber and you're transported into a literal hellscape and your job is to kill demons in a body that unfamiliar to you
as far as the "rat" knows, that's what life is, numbers, lights, and colors. to the extent that it can know anything, since it's basically just a simple AI made out of unconventional materials.
lowkey this is like.. this is like some horror. i mean we have wrote stories about being separated from our bodies, being unable to feel and only able to think. i wonder what that rat thinks about.
Probably the same thing I am think - "why I am stuck in constant doom?" But honest answer, even a retro desktop calculator has more transistors than that rat brain in a vat so probably not much
This is the few things that makes me think science is kinda going too far. Growing the brain of a living organism for a computer just feels so wrong. Like i know these cells most likely have no sense of self or any awareness that we would consider relevant, they are just too few and simple, but bigger or more complex bio-electronics is when it starts to get more blurred and messed up. Its a mazing content to watch but it also makes me think that age old and more relevant question than ever before “at what point is too far”
Imagine the horror films where one person dies alone, isolated, confused, helpless. Now imagine that is real, and there is an apathetic viewer who laments not being able to do anything about saving that person because that person is in the movie, but they don't know the movie is real. That's what we are doing now, apathetically viewing these neurons trying to figure out how to survive but in reality, will probably get scraped into the trash later today, and there's nothing I can do about it except lament.
Not run. Play. And it would be more convoluted than a bucket. A bucketful, perhaps, but not just a bucket filled. These wouldn't work so well with so many layered neurons without any extra effort.
@@lua-nya Sooo... you think this was a serious Question of mine and i'm not just goofing around being sarcastic ? Okay, ...but you're right about my English. I was a bad Student at School, sorry.
Why stop at a bucket? If this works, we could fill entire datacenters with thousands of tons of this material. It could conceivably make existing AI stuff look like stone age tech.
I'm kinda glad that this particular man-made horror is no longer beyond my comprehension

There’s no reason to think it’d be anywhere near as conscious as an actual rat

Creating a biological AI that trains on war games. What could possibly go wrong.

If a small Container of Brain Cells can play Doom, than what if you fill up a big Bucket with them ? Can it run Cyberpunk RTX 8K 240fps ? 😅

I can’t wait for living neurons being used as a CPU for robots that totally won’t try to reenact Doom with humans instead of demons🥰🥰🥰

Oh yeah, same as muscles kinda because the amount of calcium shared in the system when activating is higher due to use.
Part of me wants to tap into them and see what they’re thinking by somehow converting the firing into thoughts
So desperate to break our brains. I'm sure this is only for our benefit.😂
Actually, it’s a very very small amount of calcium but the difference is very large (multiple exponents)
Isn't that how muscles work too?
