This is the few things that makes me think science is kinda going too far. Growing the brain of a living organism for a computer just feels so wrong. Like i know these cells most likely have no sense of self or any awareness that we would consider relevant, they are just too few and simple, but bigger or more complex bio-electronics is when it starts to get more blurred and messed up.
Its a mazing content to watch but it also makes me think that age old and more relevant question than ever before “at what point is too far”

  • @extremosaur

Imagine the horror films where one person dies alone, isolated, confused, helpless. Now imagine that is real, and there is an apathetic viewer who laments not being able to do anything about saving that person because that person is in the movie, but they don't know the movie is real.
That's what we are doing now, apathetically viewing these neurons trying to figure out how to survive but in reality, will probably get scraped into the trash later today, and there's nothing I can do about it except lament.

Not run. Play. And it would be more convoluted than a bucket. A bucketful, perhaps, but not just a bucket filled. These wouldn't work so well with so many layered neurons without any extra effort.
