    I used to have a 2010 gti and after about 35k to 40k miles the car would run super rough. Changed spark plugs the coils all that stuff. Turned out to be exactly what you said carbon build up. I was told I had a defective pcv from factory or something because my valves shouldn’t have looked the way they did after only 35k miles. Either way after the cleaning the car ran amazing

    Great info in this video. That roof crack issue is crazy to me and random that it happens

      Thank you! And yes that roof cracking issue sure is a strange one

      I bet it cracks because of heat. I’d say just make sure you put some sore of uv protectant coating on it to help it

      Thank you man! And yes I’ve heard it too many times. I love myself a manual though so if I had one it’s just something on the list to do and so once and that’s all

    I’ve ran into pos sensor failure, carbon building up, oil pan seal leaking, water pump faliure on a 15 s3 and I owned from 35k miles

    The pcv hose location on this platform is a bit sketch. If you experience a lot of blow by and it starts to leak it’ll be a bad time. Good point to check that area on a more frequent basis. Better to take 10 seconds to check than have your car up in flames

    • @DArias
      @DArias  2 года назад +1

      Yeahhhh it’s a bit sketch for sure if it leaks and can cause issues.. better to check once a week to be safe then to have a fire

    On the water pump thermostat issue I came across on RUclips that the coolant used is the cause of the problems. Apparently it’s caused by the g13 coolant there we use and the guy replaced the coolant antifreeze with g12 Evo coolant but it’s not available in America only Europe if not mistaken. The guy is from Spain and his RUclips is, “ TheVegas” if you want to check it out.. I’m curious myself on changing the coolant if it is the cause to water pump failure to prevent it..

    • @DArias
      @DArias  2 года назад +1

      That’s interesting actually. Audi and vw is so keen on having people use G13 etc to avoid problems but maybe it actually causes the failures.. very very interesting

    Haldex system. That can also be costly. My pump filter was clogged and causing a shutter during torque vectoring (trying to slide the car).

    • @DArias
      @DArias  2 года назад +1

      Absolutely! Haldex is very annoying on these cars too. Pumps like to go bad

    I know that if you go to stage 3 you will need to replace the fuel hoses to the high pressure fuel pump as they aren’t rated for the increased pressure of the fuel system ☺️

    My a3 says low oil pressure at warm idle … but goes away when you start driving I change the oil every 3500-4500 miles , the car only has 84k and it has this issue I seen a few videos on RUclips but nothing replicated my issue I changed the oil pressure sensors and still safe issue it’s been a sad month just watching it sit in the garage :(

    Hey I have codes P2004/3BSE and p2014/3B5E my check engine light came while I was just cruising the car feels normal I am running eqt stage 2 can I just be a tune issue ?

    The haldex man... it's the biggest issue with mqb cars.. and you missed it...

    • @DArias
      @DArias  2 года назад +1

      You’re 100% but I feel the Haldex is something that maintain properly will avoid failure. Like if you’re launching the car constantly you can do frequent Haldex services. Something like the water pump you can’t service it or something like the clutch can’t be serviced etc. idk if that makes sense lol

    • @christiand1942
      @christiand1942 2 года назад +1

      @@DArias I thought so too, but that's not the case. I also thought the gen 5 haldex was supposed to fix the issues of previous haldex pumps... also not the case. I know guys who swap out fluid and clean the filter every 5-10k miles with failures. I did the same. Still failed after 36k miles. It's not a matter of "if", it's a matter of "when".
      I've never launched my car or taken it to a drag strip.
      Luckily it's a $200 part and very easy to replace. (At least for me).

    • @DArias
      @DArias  2 года назад +1

      Again you’re not wrong Haldex is an issue for sure. I should have included it you’re not wrong. I guess it’s part of proper maintenance to avoid failure

    • @DArias
      @DArias  2 года назад +1

      Damn that’s unfortunate! Hopefully they come out with a revised pump! Haha luckily somehow with 55k miles now and multiples launches etc I haven’t had any issues (that I know of) with mine

    • @christiand1942
      @christiand1942 2 года назад

      @@DArias Yea some are luckier than others. It won't show a CEL, but you'll see it if you plug into OBD and check for errors. You'll also see uneven tread wear and you'll break traction on the start of a hard acceleration. It feels like you're being pulled forward, rather than pushed from behind when accelerating. I didn't know mine failed for about 1 month. Luckily running with a failed haldex won't damage the car. It'll just be a front wheel drive car and you'll be a little slower on acceleration times.

    "These cars are actually super reliable....however...."
    Hmmm.
    Meanwhile Japanese and South Korean cars just keep going and going.....

    • @DArias
      @DArias  2 года назад +1

      For sure Honda’s and Toyota’s never die lol I don’t disagree.. euro just requires some more maintenance typically 🤷🏽‍♂️ all personal preference I guess

    • @ecurb10
      @ecurb10 2 года назад

      @@DArias Ok, but, if they require more maintenance as you so calmly state (with all due respect), then doesn't that mean they're, dare I say, not as good? Isn't that just poor engineering?
      It'd be different if this came with some other benefits like increased performance, economy etc.... but it doesn't. So what's the upside? My son's new Kia GT has amazing fuel economy plus power, with lots of options.....AND a 7 year warranty!
      Hey don't worry, I like Audis too, but I just bought a used A4 and, though nice, I just had to fork out 800 bucks for a new battery! - Audi quoted $1,100! And it's just a plain ol' boring sedan.
      Clearly I have a chip on my shoulder about this, sorry 😕, but it just doesn't add up.
