The coach is letting him get up too slow on the final save. Catch your breath once you have control of the ball or return to your feet. Even after 20 years, I can hear my GK coach screaming "up again!!!" every time i hit the ground.

9:35 - When you reinforce deflecting more than catching. Maybe it’s just the chosen activities this specific day being displayed by this player but in my opinion the hierarchy for making saves should always be (1) Catch (2) deflect out danger (3) deflect at all cost to not allow a goal. I feel like this Goalkeeper could be a lot more practical if they weren’t taught to emphasize the dramatic.

As a coach, their is a few things wrong that the keeper needs to work on. Mainly his decision making wether to catch the ball or tip it
Absolutely! We've been working on it with him since posting this video. We've been able to break down the film and see where the opportunities were to hold and when to push. Thanks for the feedback!

To be honest its one of the hardest things to learn as a goalie, deciding when's the right time to parry the ball and when to catch it

I am very big fan of football
I would love to get into goalkeeper coaching and eventfully work at standard where I can make a earn an like £23k a year from it minimum 😩. Giving something back to the game I love. Teaching kids, young adults or seasoned players my time and passion for the game and goalkeeping. Especially working in North America or Australia/NZ.

He’s really good but when he’s waiting for the ball his set position is good but instead of standing flat and still, get on your toes and bounce a little to keep your body ready for any shot
He doesn't suppose to be flat footed. Soccer should be at your tiptoe at all times. Otherwise, ball or players will pass you at full speed without you reacting.
