My God, thank you. I've been trying to figure out why my crank wasn't spinning. I bought new 1-way bearings and all. I had no idea my pressure spring was missing.
Thanks for taking time to comment! Those springs deteriorate when the car just sits around. Since their want any ideas online, I figured a terrible video might help someone out there.
I only changed the spring, improvised by cutting a piece of the spring from a lighter since the pin does not damage easily, the spring breaks because of the heat. Besides, here in Brazil the pin costs a small fortune for such a small piece. Hugs man!
The pin held up good and didnt need replacing. The spring I used was from a BIC Lighter, cut to the right length (it pushes the pin out until the pin almost wants to fall out)
@@firstpersonguy7330 I've got the engine stripped down and the pin is stuck solid in the crank and there's not enough sticking out to grab it. Pulling my hair out here lol. Thanks for your reply 👍🏻
@@popeye9048 man, it's been 3 months and not sure if you care anymore but just WD40 the crap out of it and dig around in the spring hole with a tiny Allen key.
Fudge. If I had the parts in front of me I may have some better solution, but if you giver lots of penetrating lube and let it sit overnight then turn it over and start slamming it on a hard surface? Might be enuff to bring it out to grab with needle nose pliers. Sounds like the spring behind it is completely corroded, and broken.
About 10/32" or 11/32" of an inch. I wasn't exact, but made sure the spring pushed that pin almost till it falls out of housing so it applies good pressure to the starting plate.
I saw a video where they used a small torch to carefully heat the pin and it came out look for that video try not to heat the part too much or you might change the hardness of the metal. hope that helps I know the comment was 8 months old.

I did the same! Lighter spring works just fine.
What lighter to your use
Thanks dude; couldn't figure out why the plate wasnt contacting the starter pin. Papa bless.
I used the same method to fix mine. Nice work!
i have the same exat problem where can i buy the pin and spring?
Nice v8d man you seem like a nice guy 😁
Thanks for this video
Is lighter spring still working?
Where did you get the pin and spring from? This has went on a savage that I just acquired.

@@firstpersonguy7330 hey man, I got it out, rebuilt everything and got it running sweet as a nut 👍🏻
@@popeye9048how did you get it out?
How did you get the pin out mine is stuck
Penetrating lubricant. A couple applications. Then tug on it with needle nose pliers.
WD40 is what is used.
I don't have enough to grab with pliers.

Where did you order part from
I removed the spring from a BIC lighter, and cut it to size. Its still working too...
About how long

Alright man I replaced the spring still no luck
Spring was still in one piece
What is the one way size in this 12 or 14 HEX motor?
14mm
👍
but how do you get the pin out
