- The Cebu, Philippines Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is beautiful. Dad and the older boys along with a lily, our niece, we’re able to visit the temple. It was wonderful to feel the peace and joy of the temple.
Our first Sunday back in the Philippines, we wanted to go to church. We found a chapel nearby Mactan Newtown, but when we got to where the GPS took us, the chapel was nowhere to be found. Plus, it was raining, which didn’t help the situation. Thankfully, a lady was familiar with our church and was able to guide us to where we needed to go. It was great to go to church and to meet many kind people at church.

I served my mission there, back in '82 Phil Cebu Mission which covered Cebu, Leyte, Negros, Samar, Bohol.I spent 6 mos in Cebu mission home at Beverly Hills. It was a wonderful and a humbling experience, grateful to be called to serve.

Bacolod's temple is under construction it's huge also along the airport access road..
We pass by that temple everyday to & fro with my ward.It's been there when I was on my primary days till now that am on my 60's soon.

It doesn’t matter what religion you have. Jollibee is for everyday, but my family loves Jollibee after church especially. It’s our go to because it had a playground. I don’t know if back in the Philippines they still have playgrounds inside Jollibee though. 😅

Try to visit the island of Siargao too. The whole family specially the kids will surely love surfing there. There’s loads of other things to in a single island like wakeboarding, swim at Sugba Lagoon (with non-poisonous jelly fish), lots of island hopping places, places to see the island, amazing food scenery, it’s a piece of tropical paradise!

There are many mormon churches in the philippines in fact one is my nextdoor neighbor in paranaque, they are always expanding, came to know one of their building contractors and told me they have just finished a project in sorsogon and have several going on, this from the richest homegrown american congregation, who has helped the federal government of america financially, out of the 4 christian denomination that started in up-state new york they are the most successful. An old pinoy here who loves trivia and who has been recruited by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, first in the 70's and about a decade ago, enjoy your stay.

Nahhh....definitely more than 10 mormons temple in the philippines. I see them everywhere.
What you are seeing everywhere are meetinghouses. Currently, there are only 2 temples in operation in the Philippines, Cebu and Manila. A few others are under construction, such as those in Urdaneta and Alabang.

I am very much like your family down to earth. Do you know there is the 2nd historical site from Intramuros in Manila. The Corregidor Island righr in the Middle bay. The Corregidor Island during spanish era is Spanish fortress means to correntional facility. Ships coming to the Philippine to Manila it is a must to go to Corregidor Island for Customs and Immigration declaration before going to Manila to Intramuros. American era became the first american headquarter base for Asia Pacific and fof USAAF. The island is the office of General Douglas McArthur. The island is filled with Anti-aircraft Batteries and 20 ft tunnel for weapon artilleries and medical facility. It has alsi beaches. Corregidor Island can be visited by water shuttle service from Esplanade Avenue of Mall of Asia.
