I got this set yesterday, and I love it! It's the most fun I've had with a lego minecraft set since all the way back in the first wave, when I got the end set with the awesome full diamond armor. I love the sets that have the bosses/boss arenas in them. I also fought my first warden in the game today. My friend and I fought and killed 10 of them before we decided to pack up and go home. It was a very stressful, but extremely fun time. I had to wait until after to build the set, because I wasn't going to let myself build a mob i haven't beaten before!
I like the model for the Warden, it's a good size and looks pretty accurate and being able to raise him up is very cool. But i feel like this set doesn't do justice to the beauty of the deep dark. I really liked your version of it and although i wouldn't expect lego to go to that level of detail this feels very simple in comparison.
After building this all out I feel better about the price. It's still not great, but heck, if this was Star Wars you know it would be a hundred bucks or something ridiculous lol!
The colours in this set are great, but the main appeal of the lego MC theme is always gonna be its afforablility for me. So Im looking forward to the other small sets in this wave!

Are you going to swap in Lego's skulk sensor into your display? I really hope you do since your design does hurt my brain a bit as it is illegal (and looks very uncomfortable for every piece involved lmao).

These Reviews are so well edited! I hope Lego releases a huge wave of sets like lush caves, dripstone cave, deep dark so we get a hour long review! what if they were all separate sets that you could stack on top!

Something like the Harry Potter Line's modularity would be cool to see, though it would make the overall lack of game accuracy a bit more glaring, I feel..
Honestly, I think that NOTHING will EVER compete with this guy's minecraft MOC. It is SO detailed, I am SO impressed, its amazing, I love it, congrats on being literally the best lego minecraft builder on youtube
The warden is surprisingly better than I thought. It's big but a really fun build with nice posability and strength. It's a shame the other minifigs are lacking though 😕
tbh this set is just meh, I liked the skulk shriekers but nothing much else from the deep dark, the warden is very posable which is cool but I honestly enjoyed urs more! and I definitely think they should've included the deep dark "portal" structure

I really like their Warden design but I have no clue why they included the bright aqua highlights in it. It makes it look too bright and I think it would have been better to exclude those colors entirely.

LEGO really seems to never get printing the minifigures skin tone on another color correct like- ever… with that said, I’ll probably wait to buy this set as I’ll be more preoccupied with Harry Potter and Star Wars sets…and college so I gotta save some money haha R.I.P wallet 😫😭

Cannot wait to get my hands on this set! It is fantstic! The warden is a beauty and that posability is great! The shrieker is also a nice little build that print for the souls in it sweet. And the set itself looks bigger here then in the official pictures! Got my hands on the end arena and frozen peak sets a bit early, gonna be a nice treat to end the year with. Cannot wait to add this wave to the collection
Bro, I also wasn't interested in the jungle abomination set, but my wife bought it for me for just this Christmas, and oh boy, you have to build it, I haven't had this much fun building a creature, let alone a Minecraft one in ages! There are so clever techniques in there, it's amazing.

I find out lego minecraft is just the best lego ever made. We look with son good and fun sets to build and play. But most of IP sets are just boring or lacking or worse they need additional sets to keep fun. And then we find minecraft sets and love it.
This is definitely the one Minecraft set I’m getting this January. Not only is the warden amazing but the Arbalest Knight is probably my new favorite Lego Minecraft skin. Sure the printing on the face may be a little bit sub optimal but Lego has definitely done way worse before. Just look at the Mercy figure from the Overwatch wave for an excellent example. Lego just really stinks at printing light colors over darker ones. Overall though I really like this set & while I’m not that interested in Minecraft sets as much, I will definitely be picking this one up. Now if only they would do a decently large Lush Caves set.

And the cool new prints coming with the sets Return of another rare mob only seen in 2 sets before! The baby zombie The honey bottle The allay Enchanted trident which has not been seen before Enchanted crossbow which has also not been seen before! Return of a rare mob! The panda Return of another rare mob! The bee And return of another rare item, the golden carrot But there’s still a few of things missing from these sets Wood tools (I’m talking about wood pick wood sword and wood axe the wood shovel is common) they haven’t made one of those since 2015!
i recently have bought my second Lego Minecraft set, the coral reef, mostly for the minifigures. planning to buy the deep dark set next, because of the warden, enchanted hoe, enchanted crossbow, netherite armor and the scuk blocks + extras (other items and blocks). my plan is to build my own block accurate sets.
I really like the way they went with the warden's design. The huge tendrils don't bother me too much, but the legs do seem a bit excessive. Your version absolutely blew me away with all the intricacies and details, but it does seem fragile, which is a big dealbreaker for me.
My tutorials are definitely display models, that's for sure! And LEGO focuses more on playability. There probably is some way to blend both pretty effectively!
I think they should have used mainly black and dark blue, then used teal for activated sensors. Also, missed opportunity not printing one of those tiles into a recovery compass

The green armor in the ice cave could be confused with Emerald armor and the helmet can be confused with the turtle shell

I really like the way they went with the warden's design. The huge tendrils don't bother me too much, but the legs do seem a bit excessive. Your version absolutely blew me away with all the intricacies and details, but it does seem fragile, which is a big dealbreaker for me.
My tutorials are definitely display models, that's for sure! And LEGO focuses more on playability. There probably is some way to blend both pretty effectively!
I'm suprized you didn't compare your custom lego warden with Lego's official design.
lol! I feel that would have been too much of a weird flex. I'll probably try and update mine in the future though.
I think they should have used mainly black and dark blue, then used teal for activated sensors.
Also, missed opportunity not printing one of those tiles into a recovery compass
