  • The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is held in New Mexico every October. It’s the world’s largest balloon event, drawing over 500 balloons and pilots from around the world!
You don’t have to volunteer to get up close to the action. Anyone with a ticket can access the grounds, get out on the field, talk to the balloon pilots, and even help out as the balloons take off and land. We saw spectators running after balloons and jumping on baskets to add weight as they landed!
If you have time to stay for the week, volunteering is the best way to make connections. Our family volunteered to be part of a balloon crew, and learned so much about how ballooning works! I didn’t even mind the early morning wake up calls, which is saying a lot! 😂
If you work as part of a crew you maaaayyy just get the opportunity to take a ride in the basket during mass ascension… 🤩 🤩 Literally a dream come true!
    Here’s what to do:
🔥 Register online as a volunteer on the official Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta website
🔥 Choose the job that suits you best
Over 1500 volunteers work together to make the fiesta a success!
Kids must be 16 or older, but if you register as a family, and reach out to the balloon pilot you are assigned, they may be willing to let you bring younger kids to help out. We saw LOADS of young kids helping with balloons, parking bikes at the bike valet, handing out pilot cards, and more! There are jobs for every ability!
