I love the phrase when he says something hidden in black and white, you should have seen it in color. To me that means that the picture just doesn't do it justice, you had to be there to truly appreciate it. Both my parents were part of the Greatest Generation. They were born in the mid to late 20's, My Grandparents in the 1890's thru 1902. So they lived the great depression. None had to serve in WW2, but can you imagine young men of that age, boys really 15, 16 years old lying about their age so they could go fight for this country. What an absolutely incredible generation. Today, we are surely missing this attitude.
100% genius writing! We've had issues and we had a pandemic which was difficult for many, but reality is this young generation really has no clue how difficult life can be. My grandfather lived this song. Imagine a decade long depression fighting to eat then fighting a world war, burying half your friends, by the time you were 20 yrs old. That generation knew what truly mattered in life. I see the difference in just my children from their peers. We lost my husband when our youngest sons were only 7, 6 & 6. Tragedy showed them what matters and what bad really is, which I wish they could have learned sans tragedy, but I see that reflected in how they think, now as teenagers.
I played this song in the car with my oldest daughter when she was about 10 years old...she's 25 now and it's still on her Playlist and she doesn't even listen to country.
I’m not a fan of most of today’s country music but I love the old country singers. Jamey Johnson fits in with the old country. I love his voice. There is a video from a CMT show a couple of weeks ago honoring the band Alabama and Jamey sings their song Angels Among Us. He did an amazing job of it! I recommend you check it out.
I’m new to the channel. I enjoy watching you. If you are serious about the country story telling . George jones he stopped loving her today is one of country’s most iconic songs
Although 1000s of artists have performed at the Grand Old Opry, in 100 years of country music only 74 have been given membership... Jamey Johnson is the most recent one
That last verse gives me chills every time. But we can learn so much from the older generation. Grandparents, neighbors, etc. They know so much more than we ever will. Love this song and this reaction. Much love❤️
Everyone that hears this song LOVES IT!!!! glad you got to experience it!!!!!! Jamey Johnson is so dang cool!!!! He showed up at Anthony Oliver's show when Anthony was too popular, and he sang with him. And so many other cool things he does!
This song was played at my Uncle's funeral many years ago with the pictures of his real life experiences and it was a very moving tribute to his life. Great song.
You are spot on! My favorite memories were sitting with my grandparents, flipping through those musty photo albums. Due to today's digital age, saddly so many will never get to experience that.
MANY Americans, including lots of children, literally STARVED to death during the Great Depression. Not really taught. Many others died from dusty lungs, the air was deadly. Sad chapter in our history.
When my mammy and pappy were alive I remember them showing me pictures like that my pappy was in the Marines and they would show me black and white pictures I miss that
I'm not a huge "new country" fan, but this tune and some Chris Stapleton are great tunes. On a sidebar...studio certified engineer that did live sound for 35 years here.
@setonhillstudios that would be awesome! I sold out in 2021...covid put the screws to everyone in the business, plus, I moved to Florida. Nothing but little bars around me and had no desire to drive to Tampa or Orlando...in south central Ohio now.
Thanks for playing this one. Never heard it, and like you said, it's genius. But after all those Monsters today, it still took you several minutes to catch on to the meaning. I toked almost a whole one by now and I got it when he was talking about him and Uncle Joe as kids during the depression. Shewee, Steven. Idk, buddy.🤣🤣In all seriousness, thank you. This was awesome.
Love this song. I'm not really a fan of newer country, but another good life song is Till You Can't by Cody Johnson. Even if you have heard the song, you need to watch the official video. It brings a whole new meaning to the song. Even if you don't react to it, you should still watch it in your own.
The more u do country the more ure gonna fall in love with it. I suggest u do 60's & 70's country the story telling is phonimal. George Jones,Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash,Loretta Lynn,Tammy Wynett e just a few.

@@kengunter6903 No worries at all! I completely understand! It would take you months! 🤣 Thanks for just hanging out and looking forward to getting to know you! - Steven
Hello Steven, I'm so glad you enjoyed listening to JJ. He has some fun tunes, and he as well as, the Zac Brown Band collaborated with some really talented new and upcoming artists. Here's a song they performed with Markus King, if interested. "Zac Brown Band, Jamey Johnson & Markus King - Stubborn Pride (Studio Video)" (by the channel: Zac Brown Band) --The ZacBB, Johnson & King's collaboration brought together some really distinctively unique set of vocals to create a powerful rendition of this song. The original already featured Markus King's raspy soulful southern rock sound with some blues influences blended throughout. But then we have Johnson, who is celebrated for his deeply rich and powerful baritone with that beautiful southern twang. And add to that his songwriting prowess...well then, you have something really special to give a listen too. And as always, I enjoyed rocking with you. Thanks for sharing. peace out~
First time I listened to you because this song is one of favorites. Great reaction! Loved hearing LETS GO! Reminded of being in church and saying Amen!
Yes, this is one of the greatest songs ever! You’re so right about talking to parents and grandparents. Now that I’m older there are so many things I wish I could ask my dad but he died 30 years ago. My mom’s short term memory is failing but she remembers her childhood. I help take care of and I literally just left her house after listening to stories about when she was little. It’s so important not only to us but to them also. Let them talk even if it’s the same stories over and over. Great reaction to a beautiful song!
Hey man you really need to react to Jamey Johnson, singing the song "LEAD ME HOME" the official video it's absolutely great beautiful song. Hope you can give it a try. Thanks
Eric Carr replaced Peter Criss and his makeup was the Fox, also I’ve seen it mentioned that Bryan Adams cowrote this song. He just released his version the last few days it’s not bad.
You should really listen to Jamey Johnson The higher cost of living. The reason I'm requesting this is because of the testimony of your brother I'm not going to leak anything about this song relates to everyone who is are knows someone with addiction .
Hey Greg! I did see it on there… as of 8.4.24 I stopped doing guaranteed requests because it was just getting way too much to keep up with. I made a community post about it and also put it at the top of the Buy Me A Coffee page. If you missed it no worries though! With that being said, I am still doing some requests but I can no longer guarantee that if someone donates their video will be done. If you like, I can try to see if they can offer a refund since you were unaware? I haven’t had time to really see what was on the page lately to be honest. 👍🏻
