So, gaster was a shy smart scientist who accepted great knowledge from something or someone but at the hidden price of becoming a puppet due to the fact that he now knew that his entire universe was following a script of sorts and due to him being able to realize that, he was now a puppet and also horribly disfigured and decided to help others in becoming free from the universe's "script", however when he told darkners about it, they also turned into the same kind of puppet gaster was because now they also knew that their world wasn't real?
I never got into many of the FNaF VHS videos past the original, but this really does take a very interesting spin on it. I wouldn't expect a series like this to come out of a non-horror game, but you really nailed it, making it super unsettling while still feeling more in line with Deltarune as a whole. I've bestowed upon you my highest honor: I rang the bell. I don't know how much more you're gonna be making, but you certainly have my attention.
In a sense though lots of horror is in it...what with a killer and all...people being forced to lose every single day of their lives unwittingly over and over again at the mercy of this entity most do not and can't most likely understand. At least not at first hand.
undertale and deltarune do/likely will have some strong horror elements. It’s just that you can easily (even unwittingly) avoid most of them by playing pacifist/neutral - it’s pretty optional
He's innocent....the main character is behind more then most think and know...Gaster is at least a very intelligent and kind man, he is also a father...I've already met with a few...Not all Gasters are great figures in certain ways but in this case and most he is as trustworthy as they come.

All we know about him is that he was the royal scientist before Alphys, he was a really intelligent man, one day he created the core, and then fell into his creation never to be seen again. It's likely that Gaster could be related to Sans and Papyrus considering that skeletons are named after a font and that Gaster looks like an incomplete skeleton. But we don't know for sure. According to his own followers, he shattered across time and space as a result of falling into his creation.
maybe gaster is inside of a dark world and he is trying to recover himself after been fragmented across time and space.😐 oh yeah we are going back to the theories again :D
