I agree with the sunroofs I had several vehicles with sunroofs that failed and I'll tell you very expensive to fix or replace my current vehicle has a sunroof and it had to get fixed due to water coming into the vehicle I have 112,000 miles on my 2016 ford escape whenever my current vehicle breaks down where I have to replace it I'll look for another vehicle with no sunroof and I won't regret it one bit. Sunroofs are a problem waiting to happen and when it does happen you'll be saying to yourself I wish I never got a vehicle with a sunroof.
The only sunroof I have never had issues with was a small Nissan truck from 1992. It only popped up on the back half instead of sliding. Once they began to slide open, they required tracks and drains that clog up and cause water leaks.
I've got a 2006 BMW X3 with over 200k miles and it's panoramic sunroof still works perfectly. Same with my 2013 X5 with 127k miles (though it's engine is misfiring and the BMW dealership here in Germany of all places was unable to properly diagnose it and have up). But both panoramic sunroofs work flawlessly.
Wasn't sure you'd ever get rid of the red one! But this thing is awesome. Not a Ford guy myself, but can't deny how well thought out they made this thing. Amazing all the bells and whistles that come on it.
I couldn't agree more about the sun roof. I have a 2021 limited Mega Cab that i ordered, and i made sure i didn't order the sun roof. I didn't want the possible leak issues that come with those type of roofs. Love the truck.

I like the technology that gives the trailer and weight information-what great feedback to have on hand. The truck looks great and glad you have it. Time to drive it cross country and really give it a work out🎉
One thing that sucks on the interior of the Platinum, is that for 2024, they cheaped out on the upper glove box door from the year before, being that it had matching wood trim.
I have a 2022 F150 King Ranch powerboost, it has 7200 watts on board that truck you can power a 30 amp rv with no issues. Not sure why they don’t put that system on Super Duty’s, it recharges itself when the brakes are applied.
Just like you, I would not want the sunroof. That is a great find not to mention the platinum interior to me. Looks better than the current limited interior. I don’t care for the blue very much but yours looks great.
I have no use for a sunroof also. Beautiful truck. I was disappointed when ford took out the double eyeglasses holder. Now to see what the first modification will be.

I think it's nice to have all that extra stuff. It makes it nice to drive. With all these extras come more issues when they act up. I also agree I look for vehicles without a sunroof or glass top. My opinion only it is a sharpe looking truck. Hope you enjoy it.
Very nice. A few technology upgrades from my 2023 F350 SRW. You can set up 9 or 10 trailer profiles. We don’t have a sun roof either and don’t miss it. I do wish I could raise the tailgate not just drop it. Mine is all red exterior sports appearance package with a black interior. Good luck!
I'd get the panoramic sunroof, its one of the best features and excellent for ventilation. Insurance will fix hail storm damage that will still bust your windows and dent everything up so it makes no real difference. I'd be parking a $100k vehicle under a carport at minimum most lf the time anyways. I have a 2006 bmw X3 with over 200k miles and 2013 X5 with 127k miles that both have panoramic sunroofs that I use all the time and both have never given me a problem. The emissions systems in that truck will be more of a headache and expense after warranty (though you’ll have sold it off by then from what ive seen on your channel) than the sunroof.
I'm stoked for you. You've had your truck for a long time and to me that shows that you really loved how it worked for you despite all the new things available. So I think this is a really big deal that you decided to move into this. I'm really in love with my Ram 3500 but this is a beautiful truck. If I went with any other truck this would be it. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
The screen is nicely integrated into the dash. It doesn’t look like an iPad glued to the dash. After using a radar cruise control, it’s become a must have. Beautiful truck but the price is just crazy but so is the price of a dozen eggs!😂. The child seat color clashes with the color of the seat trim!😂

Awesome truck. I've heard from a lot of people who own pickups don't want sunroofs. Mainly for the reasons you stated. I have owned about 5 vehicles over the years that had sunroofs (only cars, no suvs or trucks) and I love them. It's convertibles that I hate. I have never had a problem with a sunroof on any of my cars. My current vehicle is a 2020 Impala Premier and it has a panoramic roof. Love it. But I understand why people hate them. My father has one on his Chevy cruze and he never opens it which is why I will never understand why he paid to have one installed if he won't use it. I use mine everyday (even in the winter). I also heard that the larger sunroofs, when a vehicle is driving over rough terrain, can cause the seals around the sunroof to flex and can lead to leakage over time. That makes sense, since technically you now have a hole in your roof.
Great video. I have own my 2022 Ram 3500 for 2 years now. To be honest, I opened the sunroof maybe twice for this whole time. I agree with you that a sunroof on these large truck is another point of failure. It’s amazing the amount of technology Ford has added to these new trucks. I left Ford after my frustrations with my 2006 F150, but appears that Ford has increased their quality in the recent years.
I think you should do a video on truck prices . Reason being I constantly hear people complaining about the 100,000 price tag on theses top of the line trucks .. I feel there priced right I have a brand new 450 platinum . I paid over 100k . I’m also a business owner who’s worked every week/ weekend for the last 15+ plus years I’m finally in a place in life where I can afford theses type of high end vehicles. Point is if you want it you have to work for it . your not entitled to have it because others have it

Good looking truck. Glad you were able to get what you wanted! I couldn’t drink that 100k kool aid when I turned down delivery of my 2024 F250 when it was at the dealership. Couldn’t justify it over my 2019 F-250 Platinum.
I wish the passenger side mirror had a bit more of a convex curve to it. I mean, just a very slight convex curve. The visibility is very narrow as compared to the driver's side mirror. I noticed that in my truck, the field of view from that mirror is very, very narrow. This is due to the distance the mirror is from the driver's seat. I agree on the sunroof. I hate sunroofs too. Man, these modern trucks are packed with tech.
Love the new truck, trying to decide between the F350 and 450, ... I know turning radius.. please show us more about the rear view mirror AND what your doing about a dash cam and wiring.

Very good review! Another reason to not order the sunroof, and correct me if I'm wrong, but the sunroof adds extra curb weight and will reduce your overall payload capacity. Also, another feature not mentioned is the fact that when your front parking sensors are activated, the front camera view is automatically shown on the 12-inch display, which is very "thoughtful".
I bought a 2024 GMC AT4 last year. We were surprised by the lack of 12V outlet but thought about uit don’t need it anyway. The oly thing would be the pump we have for inflating paddleboards and kayaks. I started using my Milwaukee M18 inflator that is far superior. Not really missing the 12V

I ordered my 2020 Platinum 450 without the sunroof and do not miss it . Any plans on putting fender liners in the back . I put them on my 2020 and love them . The liners for a single wheel truck fits perfectly.

Hey JD. I commented on the last video relative to the exterior. For towing I have an 05 dodge dually, pre emissions obviously. How after a decade of improvements and tech has the emissions held up on diesel engines? Particulate filter, regeneration, def? I’m hesitant to upgrade because of the nightmare’s shared. Has longevity improved since inception?
I hate sunroofs. My old f150 had one. I opened it 3 times and on that 3rd time it broke. I bought an explorer st and it has a sunroof. I opened it 4 times and it broke on the 4th time. I will never open it again. My f250 does not have one because i built it that way.
Ive had 7 super duties and I put over 150k on each one I have had. Never had a problem with the CP4. If the problem was as widespread as people think, then Ford wouldn't still be using the system.
I have a 121,000 miles on mine. Always purchase fuel from high volume stations, change my fuel filters regularly, no problems. Other than batteries, the only thing I had to replace was the hot side CAC hose.
@@BigTruckBigRV My thoughts on this is that a lot of these being fleet work trucks and being used out in remote areas, the longer whip antennas will provide better reception. I'm sure companies aren't willing to pay for XM so people have to rely on standard radio.
How was the drive with those tires. Does it still have that wondering feeling in front end. I'm thinking of going to fuel 18 inch wheels and getting regular tires

Totally agree on the sunroof! I ordered my 2018 F350 specifically without one and do not regret it. Love the new rig.

I do like my sunroof. Prices for everything have gotten absurdly expensive. With that being said, that’s a beautiful 450 !!!!
Nearly 30k in myF150, still amazed at tech. Only wishes are for a 12v outlet on top of dash like Ram does.

The one thing I told them when I had my 2008 F450 was they needed to articulate the screen so it can be aimed more to the driver for better visibility

I hate the trailer backup assist. I tried it a couple of times. But found it was easier doing it myself.

I don’t remember, but I thought I had a 12 V outlet inside the center council glove box.
Not sure if your old truck had it, but my 2019 F-250 XLT has a 12V inside the console. check for one in your new truck. Let me known
