      Hello Moaz,
      Thank you for your message.
A GP surgery is a medical practice that offers treatment and advice for common medical conditions and can refer patients to hospitals for urgent or specialised treatment.
We hope this answers your question. Please contact us again if you would like any further information and we will assist you in anyway we can.
      Kind Regards,
      The Health Careers Team.
Make a difference with a career in health.

@@HealthCareers I was an NHS pharmacist a while back, making £50,000 per year. One day I complained to a G.P surgery in England, that he gave me the wrong medication for many years. I knew this from day one and never took it. It was so serious that it was like giving someone insulin for no reason whatsoever. Yes,just like murder. Anyways, the so called G.P suppressed this complaint, so that no-one would ever find out about it. But when I complained further I lost my job and was lied to by everyone involved. Those G.P are cowardly criminals, not man enough to admit to their mistake.

It says you need high grades to become Gp in Uk but standards must be really low and that reason why so many unqualified gp's are working here. Doctors here are completely clueless went to more then 12 gp's and 2 dermatologists in the period of 5 years the UK because of skin conditions and doctors where so aware they where clueless that they all answer I don't know what to do except refering to someone else and then someone else alledge specialities also don't know and say we are going to try something.. A bunch of expensive creams that didn't do anything .. Was becoming worse and I was desperate. Went to Portugal Doctor immidialtly notice what it was but just in case he was wrong he sent me to do blood tests.. He was right and after spending 5€ buying a pack of pills and 2 weeks everything started coming to normality and I no longer had the burning itchy and rainbow looking skin.. Shut down the stupidest and most expensive health care system in any civilised society and hire Portuguese doctors. Invest in Portuguese medical education to aquire people that actually now what their doing instead of using these huge incompetent imbeciles and spend billions with no result except people living unnecessary in misery.

      Hi Syed,
There are two contractual options for GPs. They can be:
      1) independent contractors who are in charge of running their own practices as business either alone or in partnerships. They have autonomy in how services are delivered according to their contract with the Clinical Commissioning Group. In England, these GPs have increasing responsibility for the commissioning of hospital services for the community
      2) salaried GPs who are employees of independent contractor practices or directly employed by primary care organisations. The pay range for salaried GPs is £56,525 to £85,298.
Hope this helps, if you require further information on the role of a GP, why not call 0345 60 60 655 and have a chat with one of our advisers.
      Best wishes,
      The Health Careers Team
