Who the fuck thinks this LEGENDARY band is underrated? Like who do you hang out with?!?!?! Most of my friends would happily walk into traffic if Jessie politely asked them to do so because he was in OP IVY!!!!! It's like calling the Ramones or Metallica underrated. So far from the truth.
i like how everyone is soo butthurt about them being called "just some band from berkley"... you should keep in mind that op ivy was just starting out when this interview took place and they were a suuper underground band in their time. still one of the best bands to ever exist though!
The way the interviewer referred to them as "some band from Berkely" sounds sarcastic as if they were already well known in the scene despite having been together only six months at the time.
"Some band from Berkeley" All bands start off as some band from. The band that started a musical revolution. No Op Ivy no Rancid, Goldfinger, Sublime, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, No Doubt, Less than Jake, Reel Big Fish. I think that says it all.

I guess the online trend of calling things that most definitely aren’t underrated, “underrated,” started earlier than I had thought.
