She DOES look surreal with her paleness! That hairdo with the front sections pulled over her ears reminds me so much of the hairdo of Ballerina Barbie from 1975, (Though the back section of her hair was pulled into a high ponytail.) She also sometimes had similar very pale, platinum blonde hair and super pale skin. In fact her whole look reminds me a little bit of that doll (I had two of those as a kid!) Loved your anecdote about encouraging those tall gals to 'stand tall and proud!' I used to do exactly the same thing on shoots with some models who were like that. LOVE that very Mod-redux white dress and shoe-boots!

I'm sorry TH. I just don't like that barbie sculpt! You see variants everywhere.The standard blond barbie face, only this time with better make up.That face has a slightly vapid look.( I apologize TH.I know you love this doll no matter what!) Anyway... The doll is well made and comes dressed in a cool outfit. Plus, a much needed made to move "tall" body.But... I think Mattel should have considered a red headed doll or maybe even a nice strawberry blond instead of Platinum white hair. To me, Its so unreal.After all...This line of dolls is marketed to be better (more lifelike) then the fashionista line. Another nice video Thanks again TH.

Great comparison video! I like dolls with “otherworldly” vibes-the lavender-haired curvy fashionista from the 2020 group is one of my favorites.
After trying (without much success) to order the Looks dolls from Amazon, I was able to order the set at a discount through the Mattel website. Still waiting to receive them.
The platinum blonde is very appealing, as is the one with long brown hair.
The platinum girl looks like she can carry off some dramatic looks. I think she’d look great in black leather.

Barbie looks like she needs a bed and some sleep XD In all seriousness, I recently put some new hair in fashionista 159 and she needs to be tall. I'm getting a made to move for her and I'm going to find a smaller head to put on the petite body (That I'm using for a dress form >.> for the petite coming!). I'll share if I make something amazing. XD
